  1. So could we pay off 50% of the debt by selling our 5 most valuable players? I don't know how much we actually owe as a one off debt, maybe that would be a start.
  2. If someone could guarantee me by selling all the top players to pay off the debt we would still finish above relegation I'd bite their flamin hand off!
  3. Took the words right out of my mouth, but will David Moyes stick around if we have to do that? I don't think he will, surely he must be looking at teams like Stoke,Villa,Sunderland etc and think we must be the laughing stock of the league? Imagine a brain surgeon having to operate using whatever is in his wife's handbag? Because I liken that to the situation DM is in. Building a team again from nearly sctatch would make him walk, not that I would blame him..
  4. As Iv'e posted before, David Moyes reacts to situations rather than enforcing his will upon the game. He sets his stall out to stifle the the opposition, not get dominated in midfield, gain a foothold and then see where we go from there. He is not a bad manager, just devoid of attacking instinct which is why I want a new number two at the club, some one to tell him how we should utilise our forward players for the best. I did not see the game yesterday so I won't add any comment only to say if David Moyes looks as despondent as people say then I think he has reached breaking point.
  5. Diamond does not mean the attacking central midfielder is right up the arse of the forwards and certainly does not mean the defensive midfielder is swapping spit with the central defenders, rather one slightly in front of the other. Ancellotti uses a diamond because of Pirlo, Gattusso and Seedorf are not natural wingers, Milan did play narrow but move across as an efficient unit, compressing and making the opposition pass the ball to where they want the ball to go, ie to the flanks so the only ball available is a hoof down the line normally.
  6. Dunno about you lot but the British mentality has always been ''A good big un will always beat a good small un''.
  7. As much as we possibly could, mind you for the benchmark of 6mill for Long we would have to push the boat out to get anything better. I think Becks might just do ok.
  8. Do you think he will be able to hack it in the prem though?
  9. 0-0 written all over this one, Warnock will be spitting feathers about last weekend so will have given his back-four a good kicking. they will be well up for it me thinks.
  10. In a diamond formation Felli, just in front of him Arteta, left Maggie, right Billy.
  11. Teams playing good, attractive football normally win a lot more games than hoofers, NORMALLY.
  12. 10-15 million for a return ratio of 10 goals, hmmm somehow I don't think Darren Bent is all that expensive then.
  13. Would we value him at 5mill if we had to buy him? Don't think so. 2.5mill, still no, around the 1 million mark? Maybe.
  14. Any body thought that it is the management who dictates how many get forward on an attack? Moyes would blow a fuse if there was more than three players in the box except for corners!
  15. Just as well Hibbo and Pip can play there then, anyone else apart from them?
  16. Has Yobo ever played right back for us at any time?
  17. If we don't do speed how is Baines running beyond his fullback, Coleman running diagonally past his opposition fullback, Beckford stretching the central defenders etc etc?
  18. Everton's pattern of play can be sometimes predictable yes, but when attacking at speed we cut through most teams so it just leaves the final 3rd right in front of goal. I think this is where we we lack big time. If the ball ain't passed over to Baines to whip in then we are clueless.
  19. Moyes loves to flood the midfield that's why he don't play 442.
  20. Felli should be our outlet, his ball retention is first rate it's just a shame no one else seems to be able to make space for him to pass to.
  21. Decent centre half pairings are generally a good cop, bad cop scenario. One has the physical attributes to cope with a bullying forward, who is brave and a leader and the other a ball playing, thinking, tactician with awareness. I think what ever combination you should wish to play, we don,t have the good cop so to speak, so are missing a vital cog in an otherwise adequate defensive machine.
  22. The threat of the dap in school was enough to keep all the pupils in my primary school in line. Mind you all my family had some sort of punishment in school, if not the cane then a couple of slaps or the old tennis shoe. Certainly did not do me any harm.
  23. Seems like this lad is going to go all the way to the top, should have nabbed him instead of Billy when we had the chance.
