  1. christ mate i was jokin..fuckin hell have a word eh..i just wanted to turn this thread into more of a laugh cos it was gettin too petty and serious..hence the i win and :P part of my comment..you don't have to be a tit about it

i liked you at the beginning of this and i liked the way you backed up what you were sayin but you're bein a nobhead for no reason with me just then..and you did say essien is 3 times better you never said i think if you wanna be petty and technical

Sorry, guess i'm just used to dealing with halfwits like hafnia and having to spoon feed and explain everything.

I actually said, 'Essien is 3 times better than Fellaini in pretty much every department', and i 100% stand by that comment.

  2. Pax, review last seasons game against Chelsea, where Fellaini bossed the Chelsea midfield of Essien and Lampard

Well for one i disagree that Fellaini 'bossed' the Chelsea midfield. I find that rather laughable.

Anyway Chelsea were pretty awful for the whole of last season. They had no clue who was playing where up front and on the wings and team changed constantly. There was no familiarity in the Chelsea team last season and no understanding through out the team.

Shame Essien is out this season, i think Chelsea will be stronger and have a more settled team.

  3. fellaini has scored a goal every 6.2 games..94 games 15 goals

essien has scored a goal every 8.9 games..224 games 25 goals

not 3 times better so i win :P

Neither of these players are in the team to score goals. If that's the best you can do, then give up now. Oh and please don't come back with the most predictable thing ever, as i have an answer waiting for that

PS - Can i ask what is wrong with some of you in terms of putting capital letters for players names and our own club. Spullin and gramer mistakes are fine, but basic and obvious things like this? C'mon on.

  4. From the Peoples Group Facebook Page:

Next step for us is to keep working with the media. We are being told, without naming names, that there is a story here and they are willing to run with it, but we have to remain professional and get our issues accross otherwise they will just ignore us. If we get the media on our side then its more than half the battle won, the momentum will build and create big pressure

not sure how much i believe this but if they have got the media onside and ready to run a story, it would interesting to know who, and what they are going to run

I'm sorry, but this is getting ridiculous. They are now confirming, beyond any reasonable doubt that all they have is speculation and guess work. They are admitting they don't have anything solid and their only hope is to join forces with the media.

The Media have a story, well blow me down, what next bread with butter? Does it mean that story is true, factual and backed up by solid proof? Of coure not. I hope The Peoples group and 'the media' print their bogus story and get sued to high heaven.

  5. you can't really state your opinion as a fact pax..you may think essien is 3 times better at everything than fellaini but you can't say he IS..i'm sure most of your chelsea mates would agree :P

I didn't state it as fact. I just re-affirmed my opinion, and in my opinion he is 3 times better than Fellaini.

  6. I really can't be arsed using any means of checking what I have typed by using an iPhone. The majority of my posts come when doing as I am now and watching tv. The clue i was giving was a retort to your quip that I was on summer hols (hafnia being an early 80's sponsor)

I have had the fortune to exchange view and opinions with many on this site for a good few years, but have never come across anyone with your arrogance and blinkered point of view. Your main form of defence is to look for technicalities. This isn't a court room, you haven't impressed anyone with your "present facts" attitude, if anything you come across as a patronising, pedantic poster who takes an Adrian Durham stance in debate.

your essien at least 3 times better in everything than fellaini, or your quite ridiculous "show me everton transfers under moyes" suggests you much rather engage in heated exchanges rather than do any form of research yourself.

Essien is at least 3 times better than Fellaini at pretty much everything. I think the majority of football fans and pundits would agree.

'Show me Everton transfers under Moyes' was simply a time saving exercise as i was pretty sure someone would have already done it. It's called using what brain cells one has. You should try it sometime, although i think trying to engage one brain cell is easier than multiple. Then again, you do seem to dissprove that time and time again.

Again you can't spell Everton with a capital E. You really need to check if you have spelt Everton correctly?

By saying i have blinkered views shows you are far too stupid to understand anything i have said on this forum. I am anything but blinkered. One more time, for the cheap seats and the stupid amongst us, i deal in facts, not speculation, guess work, fables and propaganda. I know this will fly right over your head as you haven't got the capacity to understand what i am saying.

I'm sure i do come across as patronising to you !

Pedantic? Dealing in the truth and what is known to have actually happened rather than speculation is pedantic?

You are a complete waste of time and i will now be seeking out the ignore feature to make sure i don't have to read anymore of your stupid, mindless drivel.

You are the perfect example of the 'supporter' this club could do without. Try actually SUPPORTING the club for a change instead of knocking it every chance you get. Oh and get your own opinion, stop copying and pasting someone else's. Show at least some capacity for independent thinking on your own behalf for gods sake.

  7. http://www.toffeeweb.com/season/11-12/comment/editorial/18130.html

Another piece that hammers home the failures.

    I ignored the insidious drivel that masqueraded as an original piece in the local press;

    this all-too-predictable propaganda.

Wow, what journalism, what insight, what a load of hypercritical and ironic nonsense that will be lapped up by the intellectually challenged amongst us and touted as 'Another piece that hammers home the failures', when it should read 'the exact same piece that is full of the same old speculation guess work, fables and made up crap' .

  8. Give you a clue by my user name, it was our shirt sponsor in the first season I watched everton, Surprised yours isn't danka to be honest...

That's not a clue. You had to explain to me why you thought it was clue, so by your own definition it's not a clue.

At least i give Everton a capital E.

Since i have joined this forum, you have offered nothing in the way of debate, nothing in the way of forward thinking, nothing of any interest what so ever and simply rely on spouting crap other people have already spouted and making jokes that have a mental age of about 3.

You are a huge waste of time and offer absolutely nothing. At least most of the others, despite disagreeing with me, have something to say for themselves and have managed to form their own opinions by themselves.

Bet you've been in a few cults in your time eh.

  9. Would have thought such a movement would be in your interest Pax - all being in the interest of knowing the facts.

Maybe you should set up a rival "The ostriches pride"

In fact - go on talk sport, ideal opportunity

I'm not the type to create time wasting, pointless little groups in order to promote fables and the made up i'm afraid. I'll leave that to the likes of you.

Just hit me, it's summer holidays isn't it. Explains a lot.

  10. fair do's i have been reading up abit more about Red Bull and they do tend to own things rather than sponsor, but my original thought was that we should be having a company of that size as a sponsor, i think thats what we should be aiming for, but thats where a sports business expert would come in and sort that sort of stuff out

Strangely enough i know a person who would fit the bill.

Chief media advisor to Bobby Robson while he was Eng manager

Worked with FIFA to develop sponsorship and advertising deals for many years

Organised Euro 96 (got an OBE for it)

Lost only to Adam Crozier in the voting for Chief Exec of the FA

Was part of the winning Qatar 2022 World Cup bid, working directly for the royal family (all indoor air conditioned stadiums apparently that can be taken down and will be donated to other nations after the world cup)

Runs a sports consultancy company that sources sponsorship and advertising for all manner of sports events around the globe.

Trouble is he's a big Birmingham City fan :D

  11. It's worth keeping just to update the forum on a movement who aren't interested in ignoring glowing errors made at board level due to lack of facts, but the fact that these errors happened under their stewardship.

The Peoplesgroup are highlighting the fact that there are fans out there, me included, who do not really need to see the smoking gun before making a judgement. The time for benefit of the doubt has passed for many.

The peoplesgroup are doing something positive for people who want our concerns aired by the media which may well result in an investigation. I hope to see continued momentum.

Steveo - may be worth bumping an age old thread relevant to the repetitive posts being made on this thread.

  What a perfect example of propaganda

Would you care to word that anymore in favor of YOU'RE OPINION.

  12. Kenwright should not hand it over to anyone i will agree on that, you say you hav'nt got any answers? well i would have thought there was one staring most of us in the face tbh, he needs someone onboard who has experience within the sports industry, and can help him make the most of EFC as a sports based business, his background is in show business, not sports, now im sure there are some similarities, but im sure there are also some vast canyons between the two which Kenwright has never been able to bridge, especially when it comes to marketing and the like.

For example, and THESE ARE ONLY EXAMPLES:

kit manufacturers are Le Coq Sportif, who on the grand scheme has heard of them? they are an old school brand i remember from when i was a kid, we should be looking to have a kit by Nike or Addidas, a big name well known across the globe to millions of people and a brand people instantly recognise.

shirt sponsor is Chang, some piss poor Beer company from the back end of nowhere, that was a poor attemt to crack the aisan market, if they want to crack the aisan market then why not Tiger Beer or Cobra Beer, brands people have actually heard of and brands people know and buy already, even better(and this is a massive long shot) what about RedBull, they have involvment in certain smaller leagues like the MLS and they sponsor Salzburg in Austria, but they seem very keen on sports promotion, why hav'nt we approached a company like that offering their brand on our shirts in the biggest league in the world, the exposure for them and us would be huge, they are a marketing machine to behold, the sums of money invovled with a company like that would be quite large i reckon

and the renaming of stadiums.....a touchy subject i know, and not something im keen on myself, but we are stuck at GP for at least another 5-10 years i reckon, which is not that long tbh, so why the hell not just go do it and get some cash in to settle the books and keep everybody happy, we won't be there forever so it would'nt be a permanent thing, just temporary and would boost the cash flow quite considerably

these are just a few of the things i can think of op the top of my head, im not saying we have to make these changes, they are just my personal thoughts

Glad to see someone can actually enter into a debate and put forward ideas and show some actually thinking.

I agree with you. Everton needs someone in the club at a high level who knows the business of sport/football inside out. I have a feeling Everton will claim they already have this, but i'm not sure who that would be.

Shirt sponsor, i agree with your sentiments but i bet reality is somewhat different. I'm guessing there were not a q of large companies wanting to make the Everton kit. I'm guessing we took the best offer on the table.

The same goes for Chang. We took the best offer on the table

The Red Bull thing, well that's a very long story, but basically ask any Salzburg supporter about Red Bull. Red Bull don't tend to sponsor many things, they tend to own things and market the shit out of it.

    Have a read of this;

After the takeover, Red Bull changed the club's name, management, and staff, declaring "this is a new club with no history." Red Bull initially claimed on the club website that the club was founded in 2005, but was ordered to remove this claim by the Austrian F.A. The new authority removed all trace of violet from the club logo and the team now play in the new colours of red and white, to the consternation of much of the club's traditional support.[1] A small pair of wings form the motif of the new club crest, displayed on the team jersey, in accordance with Red Bull's commercial slogan at the time: "It gives you wings." This complete rebranding of the team proved very similar to Red Bull's treatment of its two Formula One racing teams, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso. However, Red Bull would not completely follow this precedent when it acquired the MetroStars club in Major League Soccer in the United States; while it rebranded the team as the New York Red Bulls, it chose to recognise the MetroStars' history.

The traditional supporters tried to resist the radical changes and formed their own movement in order to regain some of the tradition. Several fan-clubs throughout Europe voiced their support in what they saw as a fight against the growing commercialisation of football. However, after five months of protests and talks between the club owners and traditional fans, no compromise was reached. On 15 September 2005, the "violet" supporters stated that the talks had irreversibly broken down and efforts to reach an agreement would be terminated.

This gave rise to two separate fan groups: the "Red-Whites", who support "Red Bull Salzburg" and the "Violet-Whites", who want to preserve the 72-year-old tradition and refuse to support the rebranded club. The Violet-Whites ultimately formed a new club, SV Austria Salzburg.

    [

We could sell our club to red bull and then basically they would set up a brand new club.

The problem with re-naming of the stadium, is who would want to sponsor a stadium that represents the past? It's only brand new, modern stadiums that attract naming rights, for obvious reasons. I am however in the firm ' sell the name of the stadium' camp if we can get good money for it.

  13. , no one really cares mate.

I'd just like you to shut up, it's past boring.

If you don't care, and you don't want to read what i post, then why even look in this thread let alone comment consistently? Do as i say not as i do eh ! Speaks volumes about your mentality i'm afraid.

  14. It's all relative - do you understand that?

    High level:

In 1995 £5m could get you a world class player and the average retiring player would need a new career and was likely driving a ford sierra cosworth. You could watch a match for a fraction for what you can now.

2011 and £5m doesn't even get you a decent championship level striker, players retire off one contract and ticket prices are sky high.

Hopefully I don't need to respond to that.

I take it from the above you didn't understand my post.

  15. Pax, goes in the Dale Jennings thread in Rumorama or goes in Summer Transfers, General Sports discussion dude :)

Ah right, my bad. Although in my defence, it's not a rumor and i am asking if Everton looked at him ;):P

I shall heed the advice in future !

  16. The club has broken it's transfer record quite a few times? So you are comparing a buy on buy comparision for a club who has sold millions of pounds worth of talent £30m Rooney, £24m Lescott, AJ £10.5m.

Wasn't our pre Bill Kenwright trasnfer record £5m for Kanchelskis? In that event would you not expect that record to be broken time after time given inflation and increased TV money etc? Each year benchmarks are created that elevates player valuations, and we are very much on that money go round. £35m for Andy Carroll? If we had Rooney now we would be looking at a £60m asset making a £20m replacement achieveable.

Aside that my opion on Moyes transfer record is mixed - he's done ok. The case of kroldrup, wright, and Billy blots an otherwise impressive record. But how many managers make good signings every time?

When you talk about 'increased tv money etc' do you not think it worthwhile to talk about increase in costs right across the board? It is far more costly to run a football club now, than it has ever been. Where does this compute on your thinking?

Is the business side of running and maintaing a football club completely lost on you? Is it all about transfers? I'm glad our chairman doesn't think like you, or this club wouldn't exist.

The FACTS remain, that this current board has handed money to our manager, enabling him to break our transfer record on three occasions. Which ever way you try and spin it, that's not bad for a club who doesn't have any money and doesn't give the manager any money, is it?

Can someone provide the stats for players sold and players bought under Moyes. I think it would make for interesting reading.

    http://www.evertonfc.com/match/transfers.html

  17. Rear the last four pages, useless shit! Not just from you, from all of us who bothered to have this conversation. You want facts, they have been posted (not by me, I've seen them and will not look them up for you!) but you ignor them and pass off direct quotes from the people in question as speculation. This alone is making it useless shit, this place is normally pretty calm and people agree to give up after a while, that's how we've always done it but you don't seem to be able to. If this carrys on as a merry go round what do you expect to happen and what can be achieved from all of this?

You haven't got the first clue that you are being hysterically hypercritical do you?

The quotes anyone has posted are completely meaningless. How can you not understand this? On that part, i agree with you, useless shit. There has been no substantial evidence that can be proven beyond any reasonable doubt that shows anything the anti Kenwright bridge have spouted about him is true and factual. Nothing, not one thing. Therefore, in my eyes, a person is innocent until proven guilty.

You lot cannot prove guilt. End of.

  18. Good interview, good answers by Ross - all seems pretty logical to me. I like the comment 'this board has broken the clubs transfer record quite a few times with Andy Johnson, Yakubu and Fellaini. Do a lot of our supporters forget this? Do they forget we spent £8-£9 million on Bilyaletdinov.

Fine, we have had to sell to buy, but we have spent good money under this board and Moyes has had more money than most think if it was all added up.

  19. I only thought we would finish somewhere between 6-10th last season anyway. It was obvious last summer that we needed a back up LB( if Baines got injured we would really come unstuck both from a defensive viewpoint and a creative one), a RW and a CF. The only thing that has changed since then is we now need a LW as well.

So from that perspective I am equally optamistic about our chance this year

The main reason for our poor showing last season was that in the first half of the season we didnt have a CF on the books who knew where the back of the net was. If, and I know its a big if, we can get Saha up and running early doors and keep him fit we should be ok.

Hopefully Beckford has now found his feet at this level so he should be capable of grabbing us a few goals as well

That's just not going to happen and we know it. The reason we got him were down to his injury problems.

Beckford i don't think is a top 10 premier league club striker. Smart move by Moyes as i think he'll move on for a couple of million soon to a Championship side, like Leicester, but we are pinning our hopes on him scoring goals consistently and Saha staying fit all season, then i'm afraid our hopes will be dashed.

  20. yeah but surely the the situation now, he must take some of the blame, Kenwright has sucked every resource we have to cover various debts left by the previous regime(of which he was a part) because he never really had the money in the first place to help the club, i don't hate Bill, but he needs to sharpen his act up bigtime, because he makes himself look very amateur at times, he could be considered the saviour, or he could end up the egotist who destroyed the club, its up to him? personally i hope its the former as deep down we know he's an evertonian and has the club at heart, he just seems out of his depth abit

We have no idea to what part Kenwright played in the previous regime. If Johnson did things kenwright was opposed to, then it's hardly fair to tarnish him with the same brush as Johnson. He might however had a lot to do with influence in the previous regime. Again, we don't know, so i will not say someone is guilty when there is no evidence to prove that.

The fact remains that Kenwright either needs to sell the club (there are no buyers) or hand over the reigns to someone more able to move the club forward until such times as a sale of the club could be made. So which person does Kenwright hand the reigns over to drive this club forward? I haven't got any answers to that, do you?
