  1. You're right. You Brits are the problem! *fishing*
  2. Exactly. He never seems fit enough to play anymore. Even when he is, he can't play the full 90. He has a great brain, but his lack of pace -- which wouldn't necessarily be an issue if he was used differently -- and persistent injuries really hurt his overall value to us.
  3. I agree. The key is in the first sentence. Obviously, I'd swap a Courtois or De Gea for Howard.
  4. There seems to be quite a few underhanded comments -- and some more obvious -- about Americans and a lack of football knowledge. I've been on this forum since summer of 2011 and have never noticed this before, so I can only attribute this to the recent influx of American members. So here it is: a thread dedicated to hating on your friends across the pond. A forum is a place where people come together to share opinions and discuss similar interests. Ideally, personal perceptions of others or groups are kept to oneself so that the focus of discussion is purely based on the purpose of this forum. Use this thread to make yourselves feel better (you know who you are). [emoji6]
  5. If Pienaar was played centrally then I believe he'd be more useful to us. Pienaar's lack of pace on the wings really hurts us on counters (when we actually manage to get them).
  6. You're definitely consistent -- have to give you that. Agree though. Mirallas is probably the most important player in our squad.
  7. No way. I would be extremely disappointed if he was sold for that little.
  8. I definitely can't disagree with you. Obviously, I'm partial to Howard, but I do think some of the comments about getting a new keeper are still a bit premature. That said, I'm becoming more disappointed in him with each passing game. I was hoping he'd cut out a lot of his mistakes after last season, but I'm also starting the think the World Cup went to his head.
  9. The most interesting excerpt from the article to me: "Playing up front, I was always one goal away from being a hero. As a goalie, I was one goal away from being a villain."
  10. This is the funniest video I have seen in awhile. When he tased himself... I lost it.
  11. My gut tells me 7th place and losing out in the semis of Europa. The one encouraging thing about the league this year is the inconsistent play of other teams.
  12. I'll have to admit that I wasn't too convinced by him after his first season, but he's really grown as a player. He makes all the right runs and shows a lot of passion on the field. The only thing he is missing is that little bit of extra technical ability that we see in players like Mirallas or Barkley.
  13. I'm not normally one to believe in things such as karma, but Stones will have some of the best. He seems like a really humble person, and he's going to be a beast at the back soon!
  14. I'm really liking this signing more and more and can see a midfield trio of Barkley, McCarthy, and Besic really giving opposing teams a hard time in the future.
  15. I'd take 3-4 mil for him. He's past it, but he's worth more than 2 mil. However, I wouldn't feel too confident letting him go without a replacement in the door.
  16. I completely agree with the latter of half your statement. I really feel Martinez is a goal-oriented manager who won't move on until he wins something... or is forced out.
  17. "Use of squad" and "playing players out of form" stick out to me"
  18. A little late but... Everton 3-1 Hull I won't predict scorer since I'm late.
  19. Hate to see him retire. I have tickets to the Seattle-LA game this weekend, and I really hope I get to see Donovan score in what could potentially be his last game.
  20. I actually had a Chang beer at a Mongolian restaurant recently. I actually quite enjoyed how smooth it was. Went and bought a six pack a week later and felt the same. I'm a fan.
  21. Yes, Blair is an insect; Saddam is a parasite. Big difference.
