  1. 1327 minutes of league action, with 8 goals and 2 assists. A goal every 165 minutes, which is better than 1 in 2.
  2. Easy formula. Just pick a different name from each list lol. Who can play in the middle? Fellaini, Osman, Arteta, Barkley, Bilyaletdinov, Rodwell, Cahill Who can play on the left? Osman, Bilyaletdinov, Anichebe, Gueye. Arteta. Who can play on the right? Osman, Coleman, Arteta, Barkley, Anichebe, Cahill, Bilyaletdinov Who can play off the striker? Cahill, Osman, Bilyaletdinov, Fellaini. Who can play defensive? Fellaini, Arteta, Rodwell, Neville, Heitinga.
  3. Would it be better if the club just used the money to lessen our debt?
  4. He's 27 until he's 28 (your mother would not be pleased lol) , and was a scoring machine for his last club with 72 goals in 126 appearances, and bearing in mind that some of those appearances were as subs. His 10 goals for us last season came as a result of 'bit parts' and some of the goals he scored were top class. For him to get 10 goals for a team that couldn't score to save it's life last season, and do it with very little time on the pitch is nothing short of fantastic. A free player too.
  5. Not to be confused with the main line up thread. If we are to have a good season, we need the right recipe in midfield, but who do we play? Do we keep doing what we have done recently, or do we make way for new blood? It wasn't long ago (2 seasons ago) that we were being compared to Barcelona, such was our football, but that all seems a long time ago now. We went on to win the match 3-2, and this was the team that day in April 2010: Everton 24 Howard 02 Hibbert (Yakubu 78) 03 Baines 06 Jagielka 15 Distinyellow card 18 Neville 07 Bilyaletdinov (Anichebe 69) 10 Artetayellow card 17 Cahill 20 Pienaar 08 Saha (Yobo 90+2) When we were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool, (Nov 2010) but played them off the pitch, our team was: Everton 24 Howard 02 Hibbert 03 Baines 04 Yobo (Neill 86) 05 Heitingayellow card 15 Distin 07 Bilyaletdinov 17 Cahill (Yakubu 82) 20 Pienaar 25 Fellaini 11 Jo (Saha 66) It was the Liverpool game which kickstarted our whole season, as we had been dire up until that point. When we outclassed City 2-0, (March 2010) our team was:. Everton 24 Howard 03 Baines 05 Heitinga 15 Distin (Coleman 70) 18 Neville 07 Bilyaletdinov 09 Donovan (Baxter 90+1) 17 Cahill 20 Pienaar 25 Fellaini 08 Saha (Vaughan 84) Take a look at the Arsenal match were we dominated only to concede a lucky equalizer late in the game: Everton 24 Howard 03 Baines 05 Heitinga 18 Neville 23 Neill 09 Donovan (Bilyaletdinov 68) 17 Cahill 20 Pienaaryellow card 21 Osman 25 Fellaini 08 Saha (Vaughan 74) What is noticeable about these matches 2 seasons ago is that midfielders Bilyaletdinov played in all, as did Cahill, but unfortunately so did Pienaar. Notice how Moyes always used a substitute in or around the 70 minute mark? So now, we are about to play our first match of the season, and we do not have Pienaar, who for me, was our best player at the time, so how do we line up in order to recreate the Barcelona-esque football that we were once recognised with? It's all about our midfield, so who gets in, and who sits out? We need to find what Pienaar gave us, if we are to get back to playing the wonderful football again, but ...... Even with Pienaar in the side, our goal ratio was rubbish, so we need to make sure our players 'shoot' and don't try to walk the ball into the net, as that was what we were doing when we were being accused of playing like Barcelona. There is little point in playing some of the best football in years if we can't score goals. At present though, we still can't score goals, and we are no longer playing like Barcelona. Our midfield options are as follows: Bilyaletdinov Cahill Arteta Fellaini Osman Rodwell Coleman Barkley Heitinga Neville Anichebe Gueye I appreciate Anichebe, Gueye, and Heitinga and Neville aren't necessarily midfielders, but they are options. Who is the first name on the sheet? Who brings us great football? Who brings us goals?
  6. I wasn't contesting your point, but more trying to be honest about Coleman. He is dispossessed far too often. He runs out of ideas at the end of most runs.
  7. Coleman just puts his head down and runs. While he is out, he should go buy some Ryan Giggs videos and watch them constantly.
  8. Beckford is as good as any striker we can afford. If he played for United he would bag 30 goals per season. He won't be going anywhere.
  9. What was the purpose of the match? Wasn't it an extra risk we can do without?
  10. I think there are morons on every site mate. Some sites put up with it, being the main difference. Funnily enough, I've never posted on Kipper. The admins have never bothered to activate my account, despite several attempts. The problem with forums is that there are opinions that often differ with mine. Something obviously wrong with the general design of forums.
  11. Hi. Do you think Yobo should play on the wing?
  12. I think you have to live outside of Manchester to get UTD tickets.
  13. Is it 'Tuesday 16th' in Ireland?
  14. Title of the thread = Bohs v Everton Tuesday 16th How come it's on Monday 15th? Have we missed it? Link anyone?
  15. I think we've strayed completely off topic on this one. The whole idea of talking about Jags / Lescott / anybody else, is more to highlight that Yobo isn't crap ..... I think. To sell him for a few mill in today's market is comical. I'm surprised Arsenal don't buy him and save some money, as they were after him only a few years ago. We need more money for the guy.
  16. Ha ha, yeah. I listened to a pod cast recently with him in it. Was that on here? So did he leave or was he nudged towards the door?
  17. Superb performances for England? David Villa chewed him up and spat him out. He had a great season for Everton, and won player of the year, even though Fellaini won more motm awards on this very forum ..... but ..... you get judged on current performances, and he has failed to reach the same form since his injury. Call it bad luck, but it's true all the same that he hasn't been at his best. I like Jags, but if Arsenal offer 20 million we have to take it. I just hope it gets dealt with better than the Lescott transfer did. As for Moyes' decision, there is a lot of bad blood regarding the Lescott saga, that will only end in arguments if we keep discussing it, so probably best we leave it in the past now and move on.
  18. I think most of it is as a result of the season we had were every player who touched the ball seemed to go off with a knee injury. You can understand fans being weary of our training process. What happened to our physio?
  19. I heard Bohs might lend us a few players.
  20. Vic is more than a bench warmer. He has been getting first team football for some time. We need to consider the following: WE DON'T DO GOALS REGARDLESS WHO THE STRIKER IS This is because our team is not creative enough, and not because the strikers are crap. We have Saha, and Yakubu, both of whom are top class strikers and proven Prem players, yet neither can score at the moment. We have Beckford, who was absolute class in the division he came from, and still we struggle for goals, so it's hardly surprising Anichebe hasn't scored many either from the positions he's been played in. Our problem isn't Anichebe, or any other strikers, but the fact that our midfield can't pass, or retain the ball, and our movement is naff. We could do with an attacking coach, as all our coaches are defenders, or defensive minded.
  21. We are getting far too many injuries in training.
  22. It's all opinion Patto. What I will say though is that any opinion I share, or have on a subject, is generally neutral, as opposed to 'biased'. In other words, I don't judge a guy any different on whether he plays for us or not. I don't have a problem with players who leave, as for every player who joins a club, there are fans saying hello and fans saying goodbye. It's the way it is. While he was an Everton player though, Lescott played his ass off in my opinion, and is sorely missed. I chuckle at how some fans call a player crap because he no longer plays for us, or call a player 'better' because he has replaced a former player. Distin had a good season last year, but for me, he isn't the influence on the side that Lescott was, and to argue otherwise is simply stating your own opinion. You only have to look at our stats to see how many goals we've leaked since he left, and Lescott knew where the net was too.
