Masons transfer wasn't handled the best way.

Masons agent seemed to try and get mason to have talks with any premier league club,

Masons not from Barnsley, hes from Doncaster, Joined the club at 9/10 years old and then when Leeds come sniffing about went and joined them, It didn't go well for Mason at Lees and he come begging to join BFC. Did okay in the u18s and barnsley gave him a one year deal. The club tried for 6 month before he moved to get him to sign another deal and he said NO.

Got sent off at Keepmoat, Doncaster (Hes from Doncaster btw) Played against direct teams like Bradford away and many say he was MOTM for Barnsley. Bradford are very direct.

Week of 24th. Not sure what dates Sky have for TV matches but it could be one. Which means it could be played on a thursday night, not great for either team.

You've got yourself a real good player in Mason Holgate, he'll take him and you'll need to get behind him but hes got the potential to do along way.

I remember you lot weren't happy when you signed stones on 31st of January and hes turned out okay.

Alright! Maybe RM will be cheeky and play both Stones and Holgate as our CB's

Barnsley fans would love that, although Mason Holgate might get the odd word most Barnsley fans would feel proud i'm sure. Stones will defo want to play in it. Southgate said he wouldn't have liked to be the one to tell john that he wasn't playing for u21's at oakwell.

I'd be surprised if anyone was arsed about signing a young defender and not a midfielder many knew little about!?

 

You may be right about him leaving one day as most players do but he seems a level headed lad and i'm sure he will know this is by far one of the best places for his development and as hard as it may be to believe we are a big club that players just may want to continue to play for

 

I'd put money on a side like Chelsea going all out for him in another season or two but until that happens I'll enjoy watching him become the player most of us can see destined to become

I agree and that was the talk from Barnsley fans when he moved. Everton was a great move for him rather than a Manchester city who were apparently interested when he made the move or a wigan who made an offer.

everton like Barnsley look to be developing players well. Noticed you had a few in the u20 squad in france and the u17 captain.

 

Don't recall anyone complaining when we signed him but if anyone did you're perfectly at liberty to laugh in their faces!

I wasn't trying to knock Everton at all but I think he could be truly a top player and maybe follow your former manager to Manchester united or even join a Chelsea or Arsenal Tottnham or even your great rivals Liverpool.

Good to see him playing. Good to see he got MOTM against QPR.

Played against Stoke which for a centre backs got to be one of the toughest tests going and i heard he did well.

Just enjoy him Toffees, he'll be at one of the big clubs in a couple of years and you will have made a great profit from a player that cost 3 million pound.

How do others think this has panned out so far? For me seeing only his cameo against the shite he looked totally out of his depth.

Really out of the loop down under as far as newspaper and TV comments go, so we get to rely on forums like this to get the gossip on what's happening. Plays for the England U-21's etc I know, but he's been a bencher for how many Everton games this season? And was the cameo his first Prem game?

Not seen him much for Everton because i don't think hes played much. Forgot you lot played liverpool on Saturday so missed him then but for the u21's hes coming a long nicely.

Really good to see him play centre back and right back for them. He looks to have played really well for u21's at Right back and had a really good game against Scotland. Played centre back for England in last 2 or so games but they haven't had much to do.

Really hope he does well.

Watched the game tonight and the the England team was full of players from Liverpool.

On a Everton view of thing surely you'll be happy with parts of the game.

Thought Stones played really well, for 70 minutes he was covering two positions, Right back and right midfield. Think the heat might have got to him after 70 minutes though but he put that much effort in before that you can't blame him. People from penistone aren't used to that heat LOL.

He put some lovely crosses in, also defended well in the whole.

Also Ross Barkley played really well. If it wasn't for a good keeping display from there Goalkeeper and Kane could hit the target then England will be surely through.

Some will go OTT about England and the press will defo go over the top but i think there was some positives tonight. Hopefully the FA will have learnt from the last u21 finals and all the best players will be there next time if England get to the Finals.

With the championship finished and the play offs in full swing i thought i would come and ask about Stones and give my opinion on who i think would be a good manager for you.

On Stones, hows he developing with you? I've noticed he he hasn't started for you or even come on for a game. I also noticed he's been playing for the u21's and even scored a pen in a recent pen shoot out for you.

My view would be that Roberto Martinez would be a good fit for you. Really like Roberto and he might even take you to the next stage and maybe it might be the Toffees winning the FA cup.

Anyway, good luck at the Weekend. I bet your happy to finish above Liverpool.

Dixie Dean, just wait until you see him play a few times. You've got yourself a very special player that could rip it up for you and in a few years time you will be talking about on here. WIll we beable to hold onto Stones when theres links of manchester united and city in the paper everyday.

If he can start games there'll be a few 1000's in south yorkshire cheering you on for sure.

latest news, he had a medical with wigan and discussed terms. now he's talking to you and it's up to him who he signs for.
