  1. True Paul.

My Initial point was aimed at the factual stats that had been put up.

I didn't follow the majority though trust me. I just thought more about it thats all.

My initial comment was based on the woodwork stat, but I agree that's not down to luck, that's bad targeting.

The more I think about it the more I worry that someone up there just doesn't like us.

Some of the deflections that are heading for a throw in and hit an ass, then loop up and in.

But then again this happens to every team.

I stand by my point that for the majority of the season we have looked good and that we have lost or drawn when our chances and play deserved a win.

But hey, this is football, you don't get what you feel you deserved all the time.

  2. No one's focusing on it Haf, just not if owing it either.

It has made or broke careers.

For the record I did put good/bad

I also referred to our penalty against Man City.

Chalk hit it on the head, luck can take charge if you let it. The trick is not to get into the situation where it can take charge.

  3. Remember that luck doesn't exist. It's a term used for out of the ordinary circumstances.

For example a shot going out for a corner that hits your player and goes in, a goal that should have been called offside, a penalty that was outside the box.

These are all examples of bad/good luck.

A shot that is on target that a defender deflects while trying to block isn't luck.

There has been a degree of good/bad luck all season. Is it the managers fault...it could well be the law of attraction.

While your lucks down, you get kicked.

Doesn't matter what the reason is.

Hitting the woodwork isn't unlucky, it was a miss!

Is McCarthy unlucky for having such a torrid time worh injuries?

Technically not. It must be down to the way he landed, twisted, got hit, diet etc etc.

But I would still class him as unlucky, same with Besic.

  4. He is never a dire footballer - lets get that clear, I save that for players like Robbie Savage, Phil Neville, Jordan Henderson to a degree, he is a waste of talent along with the likes of Lee Sharpe, Kieron Dier, Collymore.

"McGeady is probably the most talented player in Scotland. He is also arguably the most creative, one of the few north of the border who is actually worth the entry fee. On his day, quite simply, he is a joy to watch."

Hartson was a first team regular when McGeady emerged in 2004. Aiden was as good as any kid Id seen. He reminded me of when I was at West Ham and Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole used to come over from the youth team whenever we were short of numbers on a Friday. They were as good as any of the first team at 17, 18. Aiden was the same. He was tremendous. There was nothing he couldnt do.

Wenger is well aware of the threat McGeady will pose.

"Hes a big talent, yes," said the Arsenal manager at his pre-match press conference.

"I have seen part of the game [at Aberdeen] and he had a very good game. We will try to keep him quiet tomorrow. I thought at first he was Scottish but hes Irish.

"He looks to have all the ingredients [to play in the Premier League].

    Messi:-

"Aiden McGeady is a fast and skilful winger and someone I rate highly," he told the Record Sport.

"We will have to be careful with him because his movement can be special and he has a great ability to appear in goalscoring positions out of the blue.

"I really like the way he plays football. He is a natural talent, who can create a brilliant piece of play in the blink of an eye and I can assure you our defenders will be paying very close attention to him.

"He'd be successful anywhere in Europe, but I know he likes playing for Celtic, so I'm not sure he'd leave."

One day he may look back on those comments and feel a little ashamed - especially when player with lesser talent than him go to have great careers.

Shukes.... On his day Aiden can be a really excellent player. His speed of thought reminds me of a slug, he has a large box of tricks....just can't find the key, we will have to he careful of him as we may trip over him.

Sadly his day has gone, he is even worse now.

  5. Come on Shukes surely you can't genuinely think that... We've simply been shit

    I do yes.

I don't think it's an excuse though. I blame the team and the manager.

But I don't think we have been awful either. I think for most of the season we have been really good to watch.

I think there have been so many matches that we genuinely deserved to win but didn't for whatever reason...be that bad management, lack of confidence or mistakes.

  6. I don't know why Everton fans watch his pressers. It just makes them angry. We all know that Bob is a bullshitter. I only watch the bits where he talks about injuries. I give zero fucks about anything else he has to say because there's no point.

Bob needs to leave Everton for his own good. It's clearly getting to him. Not just his hair, but look at his fucking eyes. He's 42 and yet he's aged so much in only 3 years. Maybe it's cos he's got a toddler at home, I'm sure that doesn't help but he just looks exhausted. I wonder if he's just trying to delude himself now. No-one is buying it anymore.

Haha I have two toddlers at home and admittedly my hair has thinned a bit and turned more grey.....but if I got paid 1m a year I think I could handle it better

  7. Guys don't read into it too much.

He is a manager and is programmed not to promote a blame culture, it's basics.

To come out and put the blame on an individual in public would be morale destroying.

Interviewers are clever and ask questions they know will manipulate our thought process. That's all that has happened here.

Blame him for wrong tactics, bad substitutions, poor man management and his over zealous optimism, but the way he defends his team and players should be respected.

  8. Point is Baines had already apologised for his meaning before the interview with Martinez.

If he has told the manager that he has been misunderstood then who are we to tell Baines what he really meant.

Really Interesting article that. Shows there is such a fine line in football between being successful and unsuccessful.

Fact is we are the unluckiest team in the league.

  9. That was an entirely different scenario , we had proven goal scorers all over the pitch before and after he left . I actually still blame Lineker for us losing out on the double

The point is that if you take one player out of the team, that player will be replaced.

    Rooney. Bent.

You lose that one player and the team plays to different strengths.

Maybe four players chip on with more goals. Maybe one player steps up.

    We just don't know.

With our 18 goal striker we are 14th, 14th!

Not his fault completely, but I blame the whole team. How many premier goals did he score when we finished 5th?

So would we finish higher if he scores less? We just don't know.

  10. We won't get relegated this season because there are 3 sides who are a lot worse than us

However if we continue on this downward spiral Martinez is taking us on I wouldn't rule it out next season

You take Roms goals out of this side and we are in big trouble

You could be right, you could be wrong.

Take Rom out of the team and for all we k ow we could be champions league.

I have been an Everton fan long enough to realise that.....Lineker.

  11. If you are happy for us to be a cup side and watch us slide into the Championship then thats fine , you can enjoy watching us attractively shipping in goals for fun against the likes Brighton

Personally I just want us to be a good football team again

Oh and the missing piece in this jigsaw is the manager

I didn't say that at all....not in the slightest.

I also agree the missing piece could be the manager.

And I am willing to bet you £1000 we won't get relegated this season or next.

  12. It's hardly undisputable.

We have made the semi finals in both cups.

We are poor in the league, but we play much more attractive football and have a good squad together.

We are just missing a couple of pieces that's all.

With Moyes we weren't missing any pieces. We were always the underdog punching above our weight.
