  1. i still think he was the most dangerous player in the first half. Dier just hit post with free kick.
  2. Good piece of skill to create a chance from Barkley. Resulting corner comes out and he hits a 25 yarder, just rises over.
  3. hes not doing much wrong tonight. A few loose balls but all in the right third of the pitch. He has shown great touches, some excellent turns and a real eye for the dangerous ball. Pretty impressed with him tonight.
  4. STones is a step above. Kane is a few below lol.
  5. Kane just had another chance and fluffed that too.
  6. Stones is class. this guy is gonna be a real player.
  7. Barkley just slid a beautiful ball through to Kane....and Kane fluffed it.
  8. Barkley is coming into it more now afetr a few good touches. Looking like Englands main threat. The lad cole is looking a decent player too,
  9. Great play from both Barkley and Stones. stones put a great cross in and Barkley hit first time on the volley ( shinned it ) and a good save from the keeper. Stones is looking real good and even seems to have a turn of pace on him.
  10. Barkley, stones and Garbutt start tonight. Both Garbutt and stones have started well. Barkley has not had much of the ball yet. 12 mins
  11. Watching it mainly for our players. While the draw was dissapointing there were a lot of good things in the game. England played well in the second two thirds of the pitch, but looked shaky in the first. The equaliser was a simple case of not dealing with the ball, which happened on several occasions. These are not juniors by the way these are players with first team experience and many are entering a very important season in thier development. But this was a world away from the recent U21s that basically rolled over and gave up, this was a case of not finishing a team of and letting them back into it with sloppy goals. Barkley was impressive. Great runs and sharp turning on the ball. nearly scored afetr a few minutes and had another decent effort blocked. Did have a hand in the second goal and should have had another assist. Lundstrum was average, i have watched him play much better than that. Good opening twenty minutes but didnt get involved enough. Long was energetic and eager if not technically good. But came on as sub and tried too hard. Had a decent effort on goal but ran into a few dead ends.
  12. true but i think it was a typical example of trying to hard to impress in a short time. I did like his energy. Was nice to see Dier btw. If we had kept him we would have had the core of the team playing for Everton.
  13. yes i always worry about his attitude when trying to get back behind the ball, always just a casual jog. But what about everytime he had the ball today. The first 30 minutes he showed some great touches and good runs but occasionally was guilty of the first team errors again....letting the ball bounce of his knees and such. But second half when Iraq came more into the game i thought he was vital for England. excellent ball retention, sharp turning and great runs forward. i even think it was a mistake talking him of as we needed his calmness on the ball to hold out. he was a great outlet tonight. cant wait for wednesday now to see him again. It's exciting being an Everton fan again. Lundstrum was pretty poor in the second half but i agree it was more down to position. And what about Long when he came on, lovely strike and almost a goal. Now lets get Stones and Garbutt on to plug some holes in what was a nervous leaky defence.
  14. I still want Fer. I just love you look of this guy and i do feel he is ideal for our team. If there was anyway we could influence Martinez this would be one that i would go for. I know we are desperate for more firepower but i also trust in Jela and think he is going to come back strong next season. Watching him this season his general play was still impressive, he is a tough forward and a real handfull, the goals just didnt go in. What we really miss is energy in the middle of the park and we dont have anyone close to Fer in that respect. Barkley is described on the web site as a box to box player but we all know that is way off, barkley is a forward thinking attacking player, but is not a very mobile player. We need energy in the middle. Damn it sign this guy up, it sounds like he thinks about the move non stop.
  15. My birthday is coming up ( July 17 ) and i usually have the new shirt as my gift ( to myself ) so i hope it is released soon. On that subject are any of you going to watch the Accrington match at all? thinking of popping up and seeing who turns up. Will we have many first team players on the pitch do you think? Sorry bit of topic.
  16. So Naismith is also staying then lol! Great!
  17. Looks like Felli is staying then. You cant get much more proof than that!
  18. I really think if we make two of the right signings we can make the top four. Our problem last season was that we had a mediocre mid deason. With the end we had we were just unlucky that no team in the top four had a slip. If we killed teams of last season after outplaying them for 60 minutes we would have finished toip four. I think RM is the man who will go for the jugular.
  19. Were not going to see much change as far as line-ups go. Most premier managers will maintain that they dont play systems as fans see them but rather get the individuals to play a certain way if the set-up. We have a decent defensive system at the moment and RM is going to use that to his advantage, he is afetr all a premiership manager and as much as we like to criticise, to get to that level you must be close to the pinnacle. I would expect to see RM start with pretty much the same system but introduce fringe players more and maybe look to have players in thier preferrred positions. Examples: Felli = defensive mid Peanuts = Middle of the park Maybe even mirallas = Central Then i would also expect players like Barkley and Lundstram to get game time. I am expecting to lose a few others like Velios and maybe even Duffy. I dont think that RM will waste too much time if he does not think they are up to it. Thats isnt to say that they arent by the way, just from what i have saw for the under21s i dont think Velios is premier level and i think Duffy may suffer from his lack of pace, though Duffy could well excell if he learns to read the game well, and he will always be an arial threat for set pieces. The guy has scored a good amount of goals from his position.
  20. simple fact is that Heits is not good enough and we need to replace him. Alcaraz on a free makes sense. And stop saying Jags is the hoofball CB when the so called ball playing CB heits think he is david beckham and can play those long diagonl balls which very rarely reach the target. Thats just the same, at least jags can clear his lines. Jags is our best CB by a mile, and simple fact is he is one of the best in the country. We need another decent Cb and a cannot think of anyone available that we could go for?
  21. he bullied our defenders in the semi. from what i have watched he could be a very under -rated plyer.
  22. After watching velios in a few reserve matches i have to admit that although i was a fan in his first season, he has not carried this on and looks like he is struggling with the quality in the u21's. i would expect to see him moving on soon. Shane Duffy is entering his most important season now, time to step up and show us what he has got. Have to say he is a threat in the opositions box. Lundstram, cannot wait to watch this guy become our holding midfileder who can pass, shoot and tackle. This guy is a complete footballer, watch out for him. Big fan here. Barkley, i am so excited to see what this season brings for this guy amd expecting big things.
  23. i have followed Barkleys carear carefully and have to point out a few things. Many people who know him will tell you much of what he tries does not come off simply because he is on a different wavelenght than the rest of his age group. a great comment i heard while watchine an under 20 england match " most people watching that probably think that was a lucky pass as it seemed to bobble up and over a player before landing at his team mates feet.....well let me tell you, he meant that, thats how good he is ". Anyone see his Gazza mixed with Bergcamp goal for the under 21s? amazinf skill. Barkley is special trust me. he might not be moving at the same breakthrough speed that Rooney did but he is special. His bad tackles come from his enthusiasm to make up for a bad pass. That will come with experience and more game time. You can build a team around Barkley, the word build means to start from the foundations. You dont even need Barkley in th team yet to build around him. a good manager will not just think about the next twelve months but also start planiing a team around his youngsters. Martinez will do this. Lets face it, even our best players make mistakes. Look at Gibbo, we talk him up like he is our best and most trusted defensive midfileder, but towards the end of the season he reminded me more of Fergies big mistake that he will never admit to ( Carrick ). Yet still we see the value in him.
  24. Love it haha! just whats needed during a stressful day at work.
  25. Firstly you cannot say hw isnt a club legend thats just daft. In your eyes he mi9ght not be, but he is undoubtedly one of the clubs modern legends and icons. Media and fans dictate names. But i dont think hes ready to be a manager of a top club yet. Imagine it, 0.1 down at half time and the team not pulling thier weight. Whats needed is a moral boosting team talk. And here come everton out for the second time....There is pienaar being supported by a crutch one side and Bainsey the other.....Jags seems to have two black eyes and Jelly has actually turned to Jelly and seems a nervous wreck. And here comes the manager with a nice red circle on his forehead and bleeding knuckles.
