  1. Ye Garbutt. I have watched him a few times and think he looks like he could be a classy left back. Obviously not anywhere near Bainsey standards yet but has that horrible career ending word "potential"
  2. I think this could be great for him. When i see him play he seems technically gifted but off the pace of the premiership. A good run in a championship team will soon knock that out of him and give him a harsh lesson in dawdling. He has a good shot on him, neat pass and looks to have good feet. Just needs a good run to see what he has to offer.
  3. I thought this guy was already gone but must be being drawn out. One of thos i just wish would go away one way or the other.
  4. Hate to say it as hes one of my favourite players ever, but Bianes. The reason why is that i think we have a good left back coming through and we can replace a full back. Felli is an anomoly of a player and one that rarely comes through. A big gangly bloke that has Ossies close control......mustard!
  5. Gotta say i am no fan of Naismith, but he at least put effort in and had a decent attempt at goal. For a short guy he challenged for every header and even won a few. might not be the most gifted player on the park but he looked btter than 80% of our more gifted players last night. Anichebe looked hunhgry when he came on and was a pain in the arse for them. MOM! keep it up Vic your proving everyone wrong this season. Baines, to be honest a few have mentioned he posed no threat, but i saw it different. He put plenty of crosses in we just had no one busting a gut to get on the end of them. He spent a lot of time in the last third and just was paired up with an out of sorts Peanuts. Seamus tried but didnt get the run of the ball. The rest were dire. Centre halfs and Nev were so slow with thier release that everything was closed down, and when they did release it went long? Bringing Mirallas on for Jelly? wouldnt it have been better to give Jelly some ammo and take Naismith off? a good manager does not just take the player that is playing the worst off, he uses a startegy. and bringing Mirallas on and having the centre halfs play long balls up to him just ....well i dont get it.
  6. glad that half is over, thats probably the worst we have played all season. Peanuts where are you? Jela? Felli, even your quiet buddy! Ossie, have a shower and wash that grease off, nothings sticking. again Bainsey looks the best player on the pitch for us. Says something when Naismith has had the best effort on goal for us. Come on Blues! second half lets step up.
  7. Lots of people saying he was man of MoM. Including the Sun.... Tossers! Friend of mine is a leeds fan and said he looked a class appart.
  8. sold....but not to us....not sure who yet but deals done.
  9. Thats true. im thinking of just ignoring everything until we actually bid for someone now. would be nice to smash them on Monday now haha.
  10. Good point...im not really. Other than its turning out to be the usual, linked with names and then watch them go elsehere in the prem. just hope we get one signing to freshen us up, or Mirallas back from injury next week would do.
  11. I have been scouring leeds fan sites today and for the most part the fans are saying that Barkley was the best performer for thier team. They say that he looked a class above and must be wandering what hes got himself into as he has a stiff neck this morning from watching the ball fly over the midfield continuously. All in all it sounds like he was the most likely player to score for them and they are pretty happy with his first match, especaily as he had little to no time to adjust before being thrown in at the deep end. Hopefully he will be left there till the end o0f the season or brought back and given a proper run in the team.
  12. I would have to say it makes a big difference friend. Every goal or tackle you watch looks entirely different from seeing it on TV. I remember watching Big Dunc knock in a hat trick of pretty scruffy looking goals and then watching it on TV the very same night and thinking i had watched a different game. the hat trick looked a pretty special one on TV. But being there you could see that he didnt exactly hit any how he would have wanted to. My point is that when you are there in the stadium you not only see what is happening, you see it from the players level, you dont get to overlook the filed like you do on TV and cannot always see that easy pass out wide to the left etc. You also feel the atmosphere of how the match is panning out, which again you cannot replicate on TV. Im not saying this as an elitist fan by the way as i have not been to goodison for money reasons since that fateful Lescott/Aresnal day when i took my Aresnal supporting son...GRR! but i do watch every single match on the internet and long to go again.
  13. Off topic sorry. But it just reminded me that only twelve months ago there were so many people on here saying it's time for Moyes to go and that Lambert would be a good replacment. Amazing what twelve months can do.
  14. It's my second cousin. I spoke with him last night and he said he is not sure this is true. No-one has spoken with him about any interest. he doesnt even play football.
  15. This is my worry too. I think there may be an attitude problem. Everytime i watch him speak i get a bad feeling going through me, just does not seem to be the type to knuckle down. Hope i am wrong. Ability wise, if i was manager i wouldnt be picking him because each time he playes he looks like hes out of his depth. He has obvious ability but in an individual ,seanse and not a team sense. He is still young and might just be the kind of person that will develop late. but there is a real worry here that we have been putting too much expectation on a player that looks at the same level now as when he first came onto the scene. Like i say, i pray that i am wrong. I still get excited every time i see him in the squad, i look to see how the reserves are doin g every match and i regulary check the England U19/U21s to see if he is being picked.....which again worryingly he doesnt often make the squads. Please Moysey give him a game....i would take him giving a goal away just to see him get some playtime...it's not like we are water tight at the moment in anycase.
  16. While Ossie is no where near Felli in regards to chest control, holding the ball and such, i would have to say i think Ossie is nigh on untouchable when it comes to gathering the ball in to feet and close control in tight situations. Both are pretty much top of thier game when it comes down to thier main ability's. The way Ossie pulls the ball in, turns and then still bamboozles some of the best premiership players still amazes me. And Felli does the same with his chest. although i have to congratulate our oposition midweek for the way they let him and picked of the loose ball in the first half.
  17. you know what i had completely forgot about thier goal. ye your right. I think i concentrated too much on his attacking side on a night where we seemed to want to protect our goals against a team that were on the roped. 20 mins to go and howard is standing on the ball to waste time? Neville held the ball for 10 seconds before turning and passing backwards? I do hope this is not a sign of moyes getting a bit of a nosebleed and thinking to protect now!
  18. I voted for Seamus as i thought he had a consistent game and was one of the players that looked confident. Although Osman played well i thought he got caught out too many times in the first half and lost posession due to lower league players not respecting him enough. In the second half this changed dramatically. The same for Felli. i think they did there homework and thought " let him chest it and then poke the ball away from him ". again second half he was better. Anichebe had another productive game i thought. didnt seem to work hard but in bursts was a handful. But overall i thought seamus defended well ( seems to be a much better defender this year ), was calm on the ball. tried tricks to beat oponents and scored a lovely goal.
  19. I am a bit upset that he didnt get a minute last night, and if i am honest....a bit worried. Seeing moyes comments that he needs to mature more too. I think a mature young star could understand that he needs to take his time. But i worry that Barkley will not take his more than limited chances too well and feel that he needs a fresh start. I was really expecting the boards to come up the second we hit 3....when it finally came up it was Naisy? then when the game was obviously won he gave Hitz a chance and left Barkley to sit and mope. i worry that Moyes is playing hardball with a young kid that is getting frustrated and thinks he deserves a game. Personally i dont think he is anywhere near ready for the prem, but Moysey you need to send this kid out to enjoy himself. dont let him disapear into our reserves please. I am not basing my thoughs on any rumours or anything though, just trying to understand whats happening.
  20. did anyone else notice a few bursts of speed in last nights game? he looked very laid back and one point and the BAM! a turn of explosive pace, that to be honest i didnt know he had. I have to say i am pretty excited to see Vic these days.
  21. we may have just dodged a bullet if thats the type of player he is. Lucky EFC.
  22. you gotta start watching the football more mate. To say that Jags has been no better is confusing! seriously thats just bizare. maybe its me missing something, but every time i see heits on the teamsheet recently i panic. even Distin is playing much better.
  23. His passing was just long diagonal balls that Anichebe made look good by getting on the end of. Watch the highlights, he had to run backwards or sideways 5 or 6 yards to make anything of them. Not one was put into the big space ahead of the forward to run onto. Jags used to hoof the ball all the time like that.
