  1. Cant argue with that other than ask, isnt the second half of the season a sign that it could just be working? Agreed if next season starts the same as this then yes we cant go on with this and maybe something deeper is wrong. But at the moment i am with the group that is going with the momentum and wants to push forward, and if that means moyes and bill being buddies then who cares. I mean lets face facts here...we are skint! but moyes still managed to spend money in January that we are not meant to have? does this mean that maybe the mopyes/bill relationship in a wierd kind of way actually works? Maybe due to that relationship bill is squeezing what little we dont have. Or am i missing somethiong and we have the money somewhere hidden. To me i just simply can't see how we can improve on our manger at this time. Coaching staff i wholheartedly agree. We could do with Dunc having free reign on our forwards and could do with finding a creative coach to nurture our wonder kid through. But for now i am sticking my trust with moyes and will support him and the club through thick and thin. Unless we start shit next season again then ill be all over them haha! Can i ask what you guys feel about our coaching staff and what influence they have?
  2. One thing i would say is that in January Moyes was actually given some cash to spend. He spent it on a bunch of guys that have not only changed our results, but the way we play too. And dont forget this is the same moyes that cannot come up with a plan B! Am i the only one that can see a completely different style since January? am i the only one that watched the newcastle match and thought to myself...jesus christ, were not only better then these but we are playing them of the park. Yes he still needs to show a plan B when a match is going badly, but lets look back at Man city shall we.....had the title virtually won at christmas.....6 games to go they had blown it......was that becuase thier manager didnt have a clue? the rest as they say is history. Every top team has had more than one or tow off days this season against lower opposition, just like u. But we still managed to finish 7th with no cash. Could we really do better than Moyes? i would hate to see him go to a club with cash and buy a team that wins something. I think we should back him until h has been given that chance...if he falls on his face then ill be in line with you all asking for his sack!
  3. I have watched Wallace a few times in the england set up and still undecided. Seems like he has a real good engine and not scared of shooting. Tackles hard and very energetic. Only probs i had is that he didnt seem to have much technical ability. Would be a great player in our dogs of war era, but now not so sure. But again he is only young and like others have said, he teams he gets loaned to always ask to extend it. Baxter is another i have watched a good amount. He frustrates me because he does have ability. he could just do with a little more desire. Hope i am afraid i can't see him making it here. Scores a lot of goals at the younger levels but he is more an old fashioned poacher from what i have saw. Theres not many of that type left in the premiership
  4. This has to be the single most important piece of business this summer. If given the choice between signing peanuts or spending 15 million on some other player then i would still choose peanuts. Simply unplayable since joining back with us, he has terrorised everyone who has come up against him bar none. If we can sign him and keep Felli! this summer then i will be celebrating like we have just spent 30 mill! If bainsey stays too that would just be the perfect summer for me. And if by any slim chance we do add anyone, then that has to be the best summer for the last 10 years.
  5. Felli was a different class today. The guy was amazing. Moyes must be tempted to pplay him more forward with Jelly after that. Holding of ferdinand and controlling the ball with his chest reminded me of Drogba at his best. If Felli actually realises how good he is we are going to have a world class player on our hands. Just hope Moyes and the board can come up with something in the summer to keep him here. With performances like that the big boys have got to be looking.
  6. you could be right Haf and i hope that he gets that and turns himself around. I think i am just angry that a guy with so much potential acts the way he does ( maybe ) when others work thier arse off and will never have the talent.
  7. i agree with you mhe looks like he has the tools...just needs time. But as you say what better way to be trained than by the man himself!
  8. SteveO the guys gotta help himself to start thats what you seem to missing mate! The guy is said to have turned up for training late multiple times, one on the day of an FA semi final. Then theres the talk of his drinking and partying, yes it may all be rumours but i have not seen the guy come out and say anything to make me believe otherwise. I am still to see the guy come in and work his arse off to get the fans on his side. to me...and this is just personally....that shows a lack of respect for the manager and club. for this alone it would be him that needs to prove to me. How much do you get paid mate? you are comparing your job with being a proffesional footballer ion the public eye. no comparison. Dont get me wrong i think he is a talented guy. i would love to see him come out and prove himself. But as it stands at the moment for me the trouble is not worth it.
  9. nana i got it! Velious was dropped to the reserves because he scored a goal for us and moyes didnt think it was the "type" of goal that he wanted Everton to be scoring, and Velios has not had a look in since. Honestly thats what happened. Oh come on!
  10. you really want players that think they are bigger than the club playing for us? The guy is taking this piss out of all of us......as a fan i go with the club over the player anyday.
  11. point taken. But i still dont think hes anywhere near ready. And its not to say i dont rate him cause i do, i just think he needs more time and thats why he was brought out. If you are right about the contract stuff then i would find it hard to argue anymore haha! that would be a piss take.
  12. I would still rather give a tryer a chance than a guy who thinks he is better than our club....wouldn't you?
  13. I know Velious was our top scorer back then but was it more of a supersub or a regular prem striker scoring? in my opinion he was a decent sub to come on and gave us a bit of excitment, but did you watch him from a start? i dont think anyone will disagree when i say he looked average at best. I still dont think he was anywhere near the finished article, not even half way there. I hink moyes brought him back out to let him know there is work to do. Again though just an opinion. I still dont know about Moyes, i think he is happy here but i dont think thats because he is not ambitious, i think its more he wants to leave with a legacy of a trophy and he believes that he can do it here. Give him some cash amd see if he has a plan B. though i look at the football we played at the start and what we have been playing recently and i can see a massive change. i think its more options we need not a plan B. To me you cannot ask Neville to try to play the passing game, that goes for a lot of our players. Dont forget we have done a good job since xmas ( again ) in trying for europe. would it have been better to just try other things and forget about it for a year? not for me, i would rather try for europe.
  14. come on were all a bit too intellegent to believe that arent we? Velious is in the reserves because he is not even close to being a prem player. we have seen that when he gets too long in a match, give him 15 mins and he looks ok, but any longer and it shows he is not ready yet. Drenthe is not bigger than EFC and until he realises this i couldnt care who he goes to. he either does it our way and respects our club or bye bye! Haf, Gotta ask mate and i dont mean this anything other than just a question. But is it just frustration at how mediocre we have been for the last 10 years that is inspiring your , what comes accross as utter hatred of moyes? I understand your frustration i really do but is it all moyes fault? is he really that bad or could it be he is at a club that stifles him too.....because of the cash flow? But back on subject i think we really need to be careful with Barkley.....but still i get goosebumps at the thought of him playing part against united.
  15. Lets not get carried away. We have heard the "thinking about it" many times this year. But have to admit i am a bit more excited now i heard that.
  16. It's sometimes not about how good they are but more about having respect for our club! If he has no respect for the way we do things then kick him out.....simple fact is that we are Everton FC! he is just another player with potential that can't be arsed to realise it, not our problem mate. Get your shit together or take it somewhere else, no matter how good you are.
  17. Not saying there arent great examples where young kids have held up. But for every one that handled it there is also one bright prospect that didn't and dissapeared. Thats has nothing to do with how good they are and as a club that cant afford to just buy another one, we have a responsibility to look after them correctly. I coach under 16 lads myself and have to follow strict guidlines. I can see the difficulties that young people face when it comes to pressure and confidence. It's not always about the club but also a young persons future. Some of these kids are exstremely gifted and have worked very hard for thier oppurtunity, our manager has a responsibility to make sure they get the chance they deserve. We sometimes forget how fragile mental strenght can be, while also forgetting that depression is an illness and not something that you can just " give yourself a kick up the butt and get over it " ....thats a comment i used to use before it happened to someone very close and i learnt more about it. I have seen way too many promising young people be destroyed by confidence. On the other note though. Damn i am absolutely distraught! i really thought 7th could give us a place.
  18. you may be right and its me thats wrong.......i really believed that 7th would get us there if liverpool chelsea won the FA as they are already qualifed for europe. Pretty devastated if i am wrong now!
  19. It's about who you know. At amatuer league i felt famous playing for my local team. I was known as the fastest wingback in the league and the highest scoring defender by far. Did i ever get looked at? i played in a midlands team that had three players join from west brom reserves and a first teamer from bristol city who like to drink a bit too much haha! These players were noweher near the technical ability i had. My place was guaranteed every week, they had to fight to get into our amatuer team. I never had the chance other than a trail for stoke back in 1988 which my parents didnt have the resources to take me to. My brother in law lay on a physio bench and had Ossie Ardiles come in to check on his progress back from injury, and my brother in law talks about how good i used to be. Why? He played fopr a local youth team who were ran by a very wealthy buisnessman who just happoened to have a personal friend in the west brom set up. They used his club as a youth feeder club. There must be thousands of real talented amatuer players who will never get looked at because they either live in the wrong area or simply dont know the right people. Am i just bitter? damn right i am, i never shut up about it haha!
  20. season over? Am i missing something? i thought seventh which is a real possibility could actually grab us a spot in Europe? I know its down to circumstnaces but i really thought it was still open. I would love to take a look at Garbutt and co but no way would i risk oblitterating thier confidence by giving them a hammering at united. No nothing to gain other than make a few fans happy, lots to lose.
  21. Another reds point of veiw trying to get rid of what they class as a threat! All week long i have had liverpools celebrating like they just won the champions league....all they did was win a semi final against us. This tells me that they didnt really expect to beat us and that they are classing us a real threat to them and thier station. Just like the old frown Hansen would love Moyes to go and Everton to slide back down. Were too good and clever to follow opinions like that
  22. Guys! Dont Tar all the sunderland fans with his brush, i know a few and they are not all twisted and bitter like him. Some of them can spell for a start, Some can throw a decent insult, Some actually know the facts. But seriously, Sunderland are a changed team under O'neil and we have to give them credit. Nice stadium too. I didn't think they were awful, i just think moysey got his tactics spot on just like he did against the swans. Some of our passing was excellent and we did not give them chance to hit us at all. But to the banned guy. dont be so bitter mate, this is what football is all about. you win some, you lose some. and when you lose some we rub your nose so far down your own throat that everytime you sit down you get a nose bleed! maybe that explains why your so mad!
  23. Somone with a positive solution. Moyes is still a young manager learning his trade and could do with learning from those around him. Tournaments are the best way for guys like him to see a different side.
  24. Personally if anyone were to ask me right now if i would have Moyes here for another 5 years? yes most definately. I can remember where we were before he came and where we are now. I remember when we had to battle like mad to get anything from the top teams. Now we score goals that we can actually turn around ay "that was great football". Even when i look in the daily star after weekend matches and take a glance at the "best move" section, i see everton moves there. Yes we can improve and yes we can play better football and of course moyes can improve too. But i think he knows that and every month i can see we are getting more positive, more confident and playing much more atractive football. Can we compete in football terms against teams like Swansea and Aresnal? no not at the minute because we dont play football the same style, as far as i can remember we never have. What i can see though is that we actually attack the top six now! they have to come to us with respect knowing that we can damage them football wise now rather than just bust them up a bit. We have some exiting players here like Drethe, Pienaar, Barkely coming through and even Jelavic looks like he could be the forward we have been calling out for. For me these are exiting times ahead of us and i would love to see moyes realise his ambitions with us...he has earnt his nstripes here for me and has earnt the right for a chance to put any wrongs right! Bring on the gunners!
  25. Phil. Usually i look at things that same way and try to look at that so called bigger picture. Fact is though, there is no bigger picture than beating the reds and going above them. Your thoughts and comments are full of reason and valid points,. but thats for managers to do!
