  1. Went with Jags. if it wasnt for his pace we would have been out done many times. Recovery rate was excellent too. I am going to upset people by saying this i know, but it's just how i saw it Honourable mention for Pienaar as i thought although not much came off, it wasnt for the lack of trying. I also thought he looked the most menacing for us. Mirallas is my favourite player this season, absolutely love the guy, but i am struggling to see why he is getting mentioned a lot at the moment. I thought he looked ineffective, off the pace, and struggling to get his match fitness back. I am not critising him as this is perfectly understandable after missing so much football. I cannot wait to see him back to his explosive best like at the start of the season. But at the moment he doesnt look very effective for us. Please dont take this is a critism though as there is not a player in our squad i would pick ahead of him. Just how i am seeing it at the moment and i could be missing something maybe!
  2. The Prem is not all about the most technically gifted players. It's about being effective. The teams that do well have a miox of both. Look at Man Utd, do they have the the 11 most gifted players in the prem? is Rooney the leagues best forward player? What they do have is a team that works well together and are effective. If you have a striker that does nothing all match but then scores with his only meaningfull touch, and seems to do that each game. then that player is worth s fortune. If you could offer me a player that will either score or assist every match but do nothing else the rest of the match, then i will play him. Think about it, you can guarantee a goal from that player in 80% of games ... priceless. If only it was that simple haha!
  3. Million miles away mate. War is war. Murder at a sporting venue where people go to support a football team is a different thing altogether. I dont think any of us are particualry against Turkish players, i know i am not. Just cant remember one playing for us thats all. And who ever said we forgive them? it's just..... Tevez didnt do the killing
  4. cant agree with this sorry! You should be honoured to be asked to play for your country and if a manager does not pick you for WHATEVER reason, then you need to prove yourself, or when the next manager comes in, prove yourself to him. When given the opportunity you need to grab it with both hands and realise just how privileged you are. I can understand being pissed, but when you are asked to play and given a chance? then why not take it? Gibson you are a great player and one of the most under-rated in the prem, but please take a leaf out of Ossies book. He was overlooked until the age of 31 and when given the chance, showed them what a mistake they have een making over the last so many years.
  5. Went for Fellii myself just for the end result to be honest. Have to admit though this was only due to the goals. When Vic layed the ball of for the second goal i even posted that he had already won MOM by that point. So surely you can recognise the contribution that Vic had on the game Mirallas? it is easy to see why people are split between the two of them. By the way, did you know that Vic was concieved in Belgium on a holiday his parents took back in the day!
  6. you know what, now my anger has died a bit i feel for the guy. He is a capable player, we know that. But at the moment he just has his head so low that it's effecting everything he does. I dont feel he is as good as our normal pairing. i just dont see what others see. I keep trying to remember him being a ball playing defender and every match i watch he hoofs it forward to a corner. yet we constantly hit Jags for the same? The player i see Heits as is a tough tackling type player. Do the donkey work then pass the ball on to the ball players. This season he seems scared to go into a tackle for fear of making a mistake. Would a few sub appearances as a holding midfielder help him out? give him the chance to go into a few full blooded tackles and remember how good it felt to come out with the ball? Heits you gotta rise to this son. dont let this be how the fans remember you! Get your head up, roll your socks up and get stuck in for the cause.
  7. i just dont know what to say! One mistake? this is a professional footballer that he himself knows what s happened in just the last two matches, let alone the season. why cant the fans see it? im lost here!
  8. Mirallas had to come of, he looked tired and out of the game by then. he needs time to get his match fitness back. And havent we complained a lot about his subsitutions in recent weeks, yet they seem to turn matches in our favour.
  9. guys seruously! I have watched the goals several times now and cannot understand how even the die hard Heits fans can try to defend him after that. First goal. no matter if its your best side, no matter how strong you are. you should not let a player just jog past you so easily....let alone when you are last man. Second goal. How many times do we have to say it, "white men cant jump" but you can at least attempt it. It was his man, he was standing right underneath the ball, and what did he do? yep you got it, he stayed on the ground. Third goal. Well worked and quality goal, you cant argue with those. and before anyone ways Distin held him onside....you can only comment if you know football. The far full back watches across the line, every other defender should watch the near line full back ( the one trying to close down the ball ) and should stay in line with him. He made a howler the other night and i think Moysey probably thought it best to give him an immediate run to try to boost his confidence. it backfired.
  10. Surely Anichebe is already MoM?
  11. To be fair Mirallas looks inefective today. he needs more time to get fit he looks a shadow of the player he was before injury.
  12. told you...he cant jump and cant tackle. and as for him being the only player that can play the ball on the floor...it took 28 seconds for him to hoof it. hopefully we can still get around 3m for him in the summer, it's going down by the game. best not to play him so his value doesnt drop anymore. Sorry just venting frustration on a game against a team that everyuone else is smashing.
  13. That i would like to see! From what we have seen in the reserves he reminds me of a promising McFadden type player. With a bit of speed to boost.
  14. we didnt send him out on loan. They enquired about a loan deal for him. We can't make them enquire earler. This is what the transfer window is, it's a game of cat and mouse and no-one should know better than that than us being Everton fans. I think all of us fans need a huge reality check, myself included. This is how the transfer deadline pans out every year for us and every one else. Yet still we act like we know better than the proffesional clubs who have people dedicated on working on this deadline. Yet in the past we have been stung many times for going for players too early and giving others the oppurtunity to step in and take them from us.....just like we did last night to Wigan! Let the poker players play the game and us watching do what we do. otherwise we would be the scouts surely?
  15. I would still welcome this signing. I was dissapointed that it didnt come off last time. and looking at his playstyle, he still looks like the type of player that we need here. And if we can sign him on loan, take a look at him with a view to sign him permanently for around 6m again that would be perfect.
  16. Its common knowledge that medical files are confidential and have to be handled in an appropriate manner. This is exactly what has happened. hence the reason most profesional clubs transfers hinge on a club medical. I have to say there are two differing opinions here. My own personal opinion is that we are handling this profesionally and correctly. Twente are trying to pull the strong arm here. While others see it as being handled unprofesionally. I cannot say who is right and who is wrong, but i can say that i would prefer us to be cautious with the little cash we have. When it was first announced i pointed out that it was not a complete deal and that all that had happenned was that a price was agreed. No-where did the club anounce that we had signed a player! did they?
  17. In the past we have all had a habit of complaining that we dont here anything at all until we have a complete deal done and this drives us nuts. Now they announce that they have reached a deal with the club and we still hate it. Solution, BAN all transfer days. Im going nuts. Can i ask peoples opinions? Knowing, or rather guessing what we think we know, Do we still think this guy would be a good investment?
  18. The reason this is happening is because Moysey has been tracking this guy for the last three years and knows there could be a problem. Due to this we are being very careful. This is good strategy. Also we are not leaving it till the lasy minute. Lets face it, we know our targets and have known for the last few months if not longer. Moyes is not spending another second on this transfer, it is in the hands of our lawyers and BK now. Moyes is already looking at alternatives himself. If Twente want to do the old "our way or the highway" then stuff em! we need to deal with mature proffesional clubs and Twente are acting like they are run by a bunch of teenagers at the moment. I mean with the ammended arrangment they would still recieve the cash if the guy holds up!
  19. Shit im at work and shouldnt be laughing out that loud at football forums. Thanks Romey haha!
  20. I will shed a tear for him if he moves to another prem team, loved this guy!
  21. I read the first two sentences and nearly booked his flight back! Goota admit you had me good there. that horrible feeling welling up inside me while reading it, if you were close Mirallas i would have kicked your knee! Hats off to you!
  22. watching sky sports right now and they say we are still to agree personal terms and hje has to have a medical yet. So still sweating a touch here.
  23. From what i heard on the radio i gave it to Pienaar. Reason is that he made a few bad decisions but each time he did he seemed to have the ball a few seconds later trying again. He also had the first chance that excited the commentators. So for his involvment in the match and willingness to recieve the ball and try, he gets my vote.
  24. One thing i have noticed looking back at many of our highlights. He seems to be involeved in a lot of goals. A tackle here, a deflected shot, in the build up or chasing back. I get anoyed by him and get my head down every time i see his name on the teamsheet. but i have to question myself as most of our better performances this season have involved him? i think if he had a bit more pace it would improve him by 50% as a player.
  25. This was a CUP competition guys. Entering the final mins and deciding to shut up shop and take them home is the mark of a manaer that looks at the larger picture. As for playing defensive, didnt we start with three forwards? dont forget we suffered a huge set back early in the game with Mirallas. I am also baffled about putting Gaye on instead of Oviedo, but then hes not trying to sell Oviedo is he. Maybe this was his " go on son heres your chance ". It was Maggy who failed yesterday and not moyes. Bring Heits on for Jela, who was not getting a sniff served two ways. One was it closed things up and protected the draw, rather than go for it and get knocked out. And two it freed Felli who has been so effective pushed up front to give Zak Knight, who won everything all day, something to think about. This made them panic at the back and that panic caused chaos in box, which we benefitted from.
