  1. A mistake by Moyes. And i dont often admit to Moyes being anything other than godlike, but this time Moysey you need to take a lesson from this. You made a mistake and one that will take a lot of forgiving. But i am an Everton fan and i will forgive as i always do if it is made right by going for it for the rest of the season. I can understand your thoughts and have sympathy for a tough month of fixtures, but this was Liverpool! i have not hated going into work the next day this much for a long time. One thing i did see which we dont often from you Moysey is a very positive decision regarding subs. it is not often you make such attacking subs untill the last 8 minutes of a game and for that i hope it is a sign of things to come as we fans would rather see that than hang on to that solo point or one goal lead. Alas this time though it was too late the damage was already done by team selection. My Moyes, i challenge you to show us that you had the bigger picture in mind by winning the cup, finishing in the top 7 and re-introducing the next big thing in Barkley. Come on you F***ing Blues lets put these black cats down!
  2. To be honest i thought that was mostly because he was injured at the through most of the season? i could be wrong But after Rooney, Lescott and Arteta...as a manager it would cross my mind that with all the rumours in the papers about Chelsea about to bid for Barkley....do i want to put him in the shop window? I am not saying this is the reason, just that i would have hated to see him impress for 3 or 4 matches and then see a 20m offer come in....simple fact is we can't turn that kind of dollar down. While you saw a young man oozing confidence....i saw a young boy with a defense mechanism up. Now wehn i see someone like Rodders speak...that oozes confidence to me as he speaks like a mature adult with nothing to prove. but just an opinion friend.
  3. Ok with Rooney i concede, but he is an exeption and there is always one. Could barkley stand up to the same physical contact? more importantly, could Barkley stand up to the same pressure and confidence knocks? my initial thoughts are that no he couldn't. I could be wrong though. But after seeing his nervous disposition and chewing gum in his first interview.....he looked like a young boy suddenly stepping up to a man's world. But i have to concede that if he does not make some kind of appearance in the next few weeks then i might even start to question. Coming of the bench Saturday when we are 3.0 up for the last 20 mins would be nice.
  4. Saying Rooney was way ahead of the normal 17 year olds might well be true, but anyone who thought they were one of the big boys at 17...only to get knocked out by a much smaller 30 year old...yes im talking from experience haha!..... would tell you, you might be big and well built but your muscles are still 17 year old muscles and are not fully matured yet. That memory still hurts!
  5. You will see more of Barkley now the transfer window has shut. Imagine if Barkley was playing the last two months and set the prem on fire. Now we would all be here shouting our m ouths of that we can't believe the club have sold him. We are in a lot of debt and we can't turn down 20+ million bids....that much is fact. Another thing to remember is that we are playing in the premier league and the slightest mistake or wrong desicion can cost you a goal...which by our goal scoring recored usually means 3 points. Then look at our position in the league and take another six points away...suddenly we are in dire trouble. Yes moyes is being negative or Defensive i would rather put it, but it is keeping us safe. A few more wins to secure mid table and i would start looking towards next season if i was boss. Dont get me wrong, every time i look at the teamsheet and dont see Barkley i sigh! i would love to see him every match, but then i take that oh so important step back and think about the bigger picture.
  6. I would add my vote to that. Bilic would be great, great guy too....it seems haha
  7. A gentleman in a shady dealers world. We can try to read between the lines...but why not just take the words as he says them. No conspiracy here just plain old " dealing done proper " Shame some of the bigger clubs cant take a leaf out of moyes book.
  8. Too early to judge Drenthe. So far he has been explosive.....he explodes for a moment then the dust settles. He needs help with his desicion making. Against city he was guilty of losing the ball by trying to take on players in our own third, he even got away with dribbling past a player in our own area....my heart stopped at that moment. But then he went on a great driving run and set up the winning goal. Again the rest of the season should give us more of an idea. If judged now......it's a no from me. Far too many bad decisions.
  9. Barkley is a confidence player and we must all remember how easy it is for these young guys to dissapear when confidence is down. Barkely will get his moment. Do we just risk him and get him seriously injured before he matures? or risk destroying his confidence. In this regard i would trust DM. But didnt we have james come through at a young age up front? and anichebe? and now we have velious as one of our top scorers. Maggy is starting to make a few more appearances now too, and lets face it, he wasnt ready 6 months ago for the prem. Lets see what happens in the next 6 months and then we can judge moyes on the season. Just hope DM remembers that our cup run and a decent finish is priroity over blooding young players.
  10. Every club has a youth system that lets players go. I know a few people that are heavily involved with bringing in youth players to the midlands teams, ie Villa WBA etc. He tells me that if they get one player make the grade from every 30 youth players they bring in, then thats a success. Everton have a widely regarded and highly rated youth set up. Thats why we have a lot of "prospects" join us. As to the ones we have let go, where are they now? I have a nephew that was signed for villa due to his highly rated skills. He got let go as he is too short.
  11. Still love to hear " altogether now " before a match to get me going. God damn it i gotta sort my money flow out and get back. have not been all season and blaming it on money problems.......thers no reason i have to actuually feed the kids is there?
  12. Your forgiven Thanks for the warm welcomes. and thank you for critisising my post in a productive way. I may have came accross a bit too " happy clapper "! but i suppose i got a little caught up in the old " get behind us " thing. i apologise. I can see most peoples points and in answer... no i am not happy with the way we are playing. But at the same time i struggle to blame moyes. I watch us play and can see the effort from most, but sometimes the pressure tells and as we see a lot, trying too hard can sometimes have the oposite effect. thats what i think is happening from some of our players. Yes i think moyes has made a few strange desicion, but hes made more positive ones than bad for me. Neville seems to be a heavily contested subject here haha. Someone pointed out that some fans show thier passion by coming here and arguing thier opinion. and in retrospect i am humbled a bit as reading through this thread i can recognise that now and hope i didnt offend anyone. Looking forward to chatting with you guys a lot more. Thanks all.
  13. Hi All. Just like to say hello to you all. I have been reading this forum for a long time now but only just signed up as i feel i need to get a few things out. Great read i have to say! What is happening to us all? How fast we have all turned on people we labelled as hero's not so long ago! Lets talk David moyes. A manager that signed a new contract not so long ago and most of us all breathed a sigh of relief. I know i did. here is a manager that is talked about in high circles. he looks like he will have a succesful career ahead of him. Now most people here just seem to critisize him and want him out? is it all Dm's fault? is he known in the football world for making awful transfer mistakes? hmmm from what i can see he has been known for making great buys...Timmy, Arteta, Pienaar, Howard, coleman, Drenthe, Donovan, Jags, Distin, and yes Neville...... Neville you say? yes thats right the guy who plays with his heart on his sleeve and was a revelation for us not so long ago. and now we have turned on him too...so sad. There are some i agree with. Saha does not look like he is even trying...drop him and let the other guys get a chance. they cannot do any worse. But timmy and neville...i agree they are playing shit! but they are going through a patch of bad form, they are still trying and you can see by thier faces that they care about our state as much as we do. BK. The guy has not enough money to keep us going....thats a fact! is it his fault? of course not. Should he sell? of course he should. Should he sell to the clowns that brought Blackburn? if he does then even i will be here complaining. But he is doing what he can with limited resources. Come on guys/girls! The reason i love this club so much is that we are a football club not a bunch of money grabbing glory hunters. I love us for our passion and out desire to beat the odds. We are the beloved underdogs and always will be. lets get behind our club and support them. Lets get back to what made us great, The peoples club! fans that supported us at the bottom when we were nearly relegated last day of the season...you all remember barry horne dont you! i was there crying! we got behind our team and helped them.Lets do that again. I am not trying to offend anyone and do respect others opinions. I just dont agree with the critism that TC, GN, DM and BK recieve. It's just not justified.
