  1. Not sure about this publicly coming out? But behind closed doors this would have been a smart move by Moyse. We all know Mirallas has the ability, he just needs to get his fitness up to prem standards.Once he gets there he has the potential to be a world class player. he just needs to get the Everton mentality engrained in his system then we can watch him ignite. But at this moment, he may only be in games for spells, but those spells are ending up as goals. Isnt that what all the special players around the world do.
  2. I do admit Mirallas, i am finding it hard to understand how you are seeing this lads ability. He is no Mirallas no, but he is a totally different type of player and one that we need up there to bully teams back a bit. Against Tottenham he was awesome! he bullied two top central defenders. Two who play in a top 3 premiership team. He showed us that he has a decent shot on him. He also howed us that he can go past defenders too. If he can learn the intricacies of deft finishing and finding the corners he can be a top player. But i think it is unfair to say that everything that goes to him is dead as i can think of so many times that the ball went up to him and stuck, then he released a simple pass out and we held posession. That is what a good centre forward does. Mirallas is a great player but needs to get his fitness and stamina levels to premiership standards. he is great and almost unstoppable for moments, but will go missing for periods also. But as with Anichebe, he can be a great player when he irons these out.
  3. Ye cant see what Barkley would have gained from that. We saw yesterday that he is still prone to giving the ball away in dangerous situations and he just does not have the work rate to make up for it. Anichebe showed again what he is capable of and just needs that little bit of confidence to finish and he could be a great player. But after all that i still think Jela has a lot to offer us. and personally i would like to see more of those two together with Mirallas coming in from the right.
  4. This young lad has had a real good last two years. He has moved forward at a good pace and is looking like he will become a solid premier league player. the next 12 months will show if he is to become a top class player. But what i have saw of him looks very promising. Watching him play for Eu19's and control the game when everyone was busy watching Barkley realy made me look up and notice this guy. I remember watching a you tube vid of him that was a great showcase for a young lad.
  5. no idea why but i am going for 4 - 0 tonight. Super Kev is gonna stand up tonight and show his class. Jelly will find his scoring boots! i feel it in the air!

were having a big reality check! our position is looking more realistic now. No-one made a bid for Felly like we expected. Leeds decieded Barkley was not good enough for them and sent him back. Liverpool are going to overtake us soon, and hate to say it but they are looking a different class than us in anycase. At least coleman looked good today, and Jelly looked a lot sharper.

you can say that but fact is, he was one of the better players for us today...thats the sad thing.
  10. Said it before but this guy is a prospect. he has a good pass on him, good vision and can shoot. Really excited about this loan as i want to see how he handles the adult game. I think this will be the test for him and should bring him closer to the first team.
  11. You know we have heard these type of confessions a hundred times and they usually fall back into the same ways given half a chance. But i would still welcome him back as he still has a lot to offer if he gets himself back on track. Surely Moyes must look at this and ask himself " is it worth it? "
  12. Cant vote. Proffesional premier league players should not panick like sunday league players when put under a bit of pressure. There were some ok performances but nothing special. Jags, Tim, Bainsey, Mirralas, Jelly, Pienaar, All played ok and proffesionaly without lighting up the place. Jelly worked hard and deserves some credit by the way guys. If he works like that every game the goals will surely come back. Jags made a few good blocks and used his pace well. Tim made a few good saves but looked like a sunday league goaly flapping around in the last few minutes. Pienaar had a good engine and tried to be creative. Bainsey, even on this performance looks on a different level. No vote.
  13. meddle haha! ye thanks for picking me up on that one. But good stirring post Dalziel! You know i could get over losing a final if we gave it everything to win it. When we took the lead against Chelsea i rubbed my hands together and thought here we go, fell out with 90% of the pub due to them being Chelsea fans and me dancing in thier faces! Then watched the rest of the match as we tried to defend a lead for 88 minutes. That deflated me, it was demoralising because i knew it was just a matter of time before the equalised and took the lead. If we went out and tried to win every match then losing would not be as bad. i just hate to see us have a chance to win something and go out with a whimper!
  14. Is saturday ideal? he is not cup-tied so can play. Wish he could have been left there for the rest of season though. He really needs the experience and is going nowhere if he only gets 3 mins at the end of a match each week. Will only feel good about this if he gets some game time here.
  15. I would have to say cup. we need silverware to give our best players a meddle and also our manager. As a fan i would love to have that day that turns into a week long celebration and feel good factor! We need silverware!
  16. Please dont misunderstand my point. i am in no way putting Mirallas down! i love the guy and am ordering next seasons top with his name on. But i do like to watch Pienaar play. i like his style and his effort. If i had to choose between them both...then Mirallas will be preferable for me. I just thyink he needs a bit of time to get back to full fitness, and to me....i notice it.
  17. haha! ye i should have pointed out that was when i was 15 years younger. Now i am one of those too.
  18. Damn you PeteO! Didnt expect anyone to hit me so quickly. My thoughts are my own friend. I saw it as Pienaar trying to spin and turn each time he recieved the ball. Plenty of running. trying the one-twos with Bainsey. i just thought that it was one of those days that the work rate was there but not the result. With Mirallas i thought he looked off the pace and when he had chance to cut inside and let fly with what we know he has, he turned back to the wings for a lay-off and cross from Nev. I thought he looked a lot slower than i remember him too. But i put all this down to recovering from his lay-off and dont mean to critique him in any way...although i obviously did. But i meant it in a fair way. I will say this is from watching it on TV and not at Goodison btw.
  19. I feel it too....but. I have been watching his loan carear very carefully. From the way he turned the wednesday fans around after a few performances. and although they still couldnt see the point in training someone else youngster, they could still see his was a class act....to the way the leeds fans have responded to him. A lot of them called for a permanent transfer or at least an end of season loan deal for him. that was after two appearances. He is not a young player moving at the same breakthrough speed as many a young players, but he is slowly getting better. I remember watching the england u19s and hearing the commentator remark " some watching will smile thinking that was a miss-kick, trust me, thats how far ahead of his time Barkley is ". The problem he has is that other players are not always on the same wavelength as he is. We have all been there. playing 5 a side or soccer eights and you play with a few beer bellys and it gets frustrating when you play a slick little through ball and the forward stands there looking at you as if to say " that was no-where near me" you feel like chewing thier face off. Barkley does that to proffesionals! he makes mistakes and needs to up his work rate. this is the reason he will not be in Moyes thoughts yet, moyes wont have players in his team that dont run thier socks off. Barkley will learn this, especially under Warnock. And when he does he will come back a Premier league player.
  20. Went with Jags. if it wasnt for his pace we would have been out done many times. Recovery rate was excellent too. I am going to upset people by saying this i know, but it's just how i saw it Honourable mention for Pienaar as i thought although not much came off, it wasnt for the lack of trying. I also thought he looked the most menacing for us. Mirallas is my favourite player this season, absolutely love the guy, but i am struggling to see why he is getting mentioned a lot at the moment. I thought he looked ineffective, off the pace, and struggling to get his match fitness back. I am not critising him as this is perfectly understandable after missing so much football. I cannot wait to see him back to his explosive best like at the start of the season. But at the moment he doesnt look very effective for us. Please dont take this is a critism though as there is not a player in our squad i would pick ahead of him. Just how i am seeing it at the moment and i could be missing something maybe!
  21. The Prem is not all about the most technically gifted players. It's about being effective. The teams that do well have a miox of both. Look at Man Utd, do they have the the 11 most gifted players in the prem? is Rooney the leagues best forward player? What they do have is a team that works well together and are effective. If you have a striker that does nothing all match but then scores with his only meaningfull touch, and seems to do that each game. then that player is worth s fortune. If you could offer me a player that will either score or assist every match but do nothing else the rest of the match, then i will play him. Think about it, you can guarantee a goal from that player in 80% of games ... priceless. If only it was that simple haha!
  22. Million miles away mate. War is war. Murder at a sporting venue where people go to support a football team is a different thing altogether. I dont think any of us are particualry against Turkish players, i know i am not. Just cant remember one playing for us thats all. And who ever said we forgive them? it's just..... Tevez didnt do the killing
  23. cant agree with this sorry! You should be honoured to be asked to play for your country and if a manager does not pick you for WHATEVER reason, then you need to prove yourself, or when the next manager comes in, prove yourself to him. When given the opportunity you need to grab it with both hands and realise just how privileged you are. I can understand being pissed, but when you are asked to play and given a chance? then why not take it? Gibson you are a great player and one of the most under-rated in the prem, but please take a leaf out of Ossies book. He was overlooked until the age of 31 and when given the chance, showed them what a mistake they have een making over the last so many years.
  24. Went for Fellii myself just for the end result to be honest. Have to admit though this was only due to the goals. When Vic layed the ball of for the second goal i even posted that he had already won MOM by that point. So surely you can recognise the contribution that Vic had on the game Mirallas? it is easy to see why people are split between the two of them. By the way, did you know that Vic was concieved in Belgium on a holiday his parents took back in the day!
  25. you know what, now my anger has died a bit i feel for the guy. He is a capable player, we know that. But at the moment he just has his head so low that it's effecting everything he does. I dont feel he is as good as our normal pairing. i just dont see what others see. I keep trying to remember him being a ball playing defender and every match i watch he hoofs it forward to a corner. yet we constantly hit Jags for the same? The player i see Heits as is a tough tackling type player. Do the donkey work then pass the ball on to the ball players. This season he seems scared to go into a tackle for fear of making a mistake. Would a few sub appearances as a holding midfielder help him out? give him the chance to go into a few full blooded tackles and remember how good it felt to come out with the ball? Heits you gotta rise to this son. dont let this be how the fans remember you! Get your head up, roll your socks up and get stuck in for the cause.
