Romey 1878
http://www.clubcall.com/index.jsp?storyID=333861 Where's he going to find it?
MikeO
Think the headline writers have misinterpreted the quote. "Of course, that is where we all want to be, playing the big club," said Kenwright. "If David gets us into the Champions League I will be crying tears of joy. "And at the back of my head I'll be thinking money, money - millions. Why? To give it to David to spend. What he's saying (imo) is that if we make it into the Champions League we'll make lots of money and then I'll give it to Davey to spend. Blue4Ever
I hope he's not talking pennies, if we get into the champions league we need some serious cash to maintain 4th place every season. Even tho Bill isnt the richest man in the world im sure he will put as much as he can afford to get us up there with the best teams again. Bill
He said that on a TV interview the other week, cant remember where it was but he said if they get to champions league it means millions for the club. Yeah, but we will have to stay in it every year to fund transfers, Leeds United come to mind.
EFCfanatic
These last 2 years have seen us stop the yo-yoing. To be regulars in the champs lge its gonna take a hell of a lot of money. Money I believe will have to come from an investor.
GoldfishMemory
He's just saying if we make it Davey will get the tv money. Probs on the date they dish it out 2 days before the window shuts or sumat! Davey's right tho we need money to spend even if we balnce the books with sales we still need money availabe to tie up the deals we need or want quickly. jofanon
I don't think he realises what this actually means. We would need to shopping in a completely different shop to get the class of player we need. No more journey men. We need to start shopping in the £10-20m windows on a consistant basis. I'd rather see one £20m player here than 5 £4m ones. To compete we need players of the class of Torres, Villa, Henry.

jofanon
http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=79279 Let's buy Torres and Gerrard! Ha Ha!
Dodge
no need to spend big, we have spent bargains on players like AJ, Arteta and Cahill and look where they have taken us. Also looking at the academy forum, there does seem to be a lot of young prospects coming through the academy so why no invest in them as well? Romey 1878
they have taken that interview from ssn, he (kenwright) was saying that about 3 weeks ago. It only appeared on our official site yesterday too I don't know about other clubs official websites but ours is terrible. It looks great but it's always slow on the news. Moyes has had a policy of adding quality not quantity over the last few seasons Ok, some dont come off and some have, but I dont think he goes looking for journey men He'll be looking to get a solid carsley replacement/addition I would think in the summer and another right back Lescot, arteta, yobo, jags, Fernandez, Pienar, yak, cahill, AJ, Howard, baines = NOT JOURNEY MEN

Journeymen is a bit strong. What I meant to say is that these aren't top, top class players (they are excellent though). Not in the leagues of the players Real Madrid, Barcelona etc would be playing. I know that this is due to budget and Moyes has done an amazing job. Its just to bridge the cap I think we need to start shopping from the A-lists.
