I heard on Sky Sports news today that Man City are talking about a transfer for Kaka and willing to pay up to £175 MILLION pounds , with wages of 1/2 million per week !

It's high time the football worlds governing bodies stepped in and put an end to this nonsense , before it destroys the game beyond repair .

 

Soon a player is going to be kidnapped , or assassinated with all this nonsense going on . Clubs will start to throw the towel in eventually , and the implications across the whole spectrum are serious .

They should have stopped the Russian , and they should certainly stop this City fool before things get stupid . Tell the Billionaires to go find another toy , and piss off !

Yes I would 100% . I'm 40 years old mate , and have been following football since I could kick one , and I don't like what I see happening . I've already stated on this forum that should the same happen to Everton I would turn my back on football .

When the 1mill barrier was broken , we were more than a little puzzled at the time , even as a youngster , but now things are completely off the scale .

The game can't sustain such high prices without clubs permanantly running at a loss . What will happen to ticket prices or even TV fees ?

When the money guys get bored , or tired of having their accountants burning their ears , they will up sticks . When they do , the prem will be dead .

Stop it now , before the countdown starts !

Serie A giants Milan confirmed earlier on Wednesday that they met with a City delegation on Tuesday regarding their interest in Kaka. City, backed by the Abu Dhabi United Group, were reportedly ready to offer £100million to persuade Milan to sell their classy playmaker. Kaka's adviser Diogo Kotscho had indicated that the player would consider a move to City, if they matched his ambition, but the 26-year-old has moved to pledge his long-term future to the Rossoneri.

I think before any of us congratulate Kaka too much for turning down that amazing offer, we should remind ourselves of the fact that he is probably already a mulit-millionare with just about all money can buy.By staying where he is, he will still earn mega bucks and probably win things.

Had it been Man Utd he may well have moved.

 

I'm with efctaxi on this one, if Everton change too much, my love for the Blues will be seiously tested.

 

I don't want a team costing £500million wearing Blue shirts called Everton winning everything.I want the Everton I know and love to continue as they are, to try and ride the storm, let others sell their souls and destroy themselves.

The trouble for Man City will be that amazingly there are still a lot of players out there with some morals. Who realise they are already making ridiculous money at their present club, can see that City are crap and don't want to be remembered as the bloke who would rather chase a few extra bucks that win trophies.

 

Having said that I doubt they will have any trouble finding 11 supposed superstars with absolutely no dignity willing to leave title contenders from around the world to go and lose 3rd round FA cup ties to non-league teams. But a team full of players like this will never be successful as City will soon find out.

Haha i just read that myself. It wouldn't surprise me if they did bow to it but. Maybe without the Robinho part.

Every team will want to beat them badly now they are flashing the cash . It might be a sticky run in for the light blues :)

You could have got a better source than the S*n (I get uptight about that posting on Everton forums too, sorry).

 

I agree th ough that football is dying when a player is offered 500,000 week and a £100,000,000 deal. That's absolutely mad.

 

And I'm Kaka's biggest fan! I think he's a cracking player and a lovely man.

interesting comparison, considering city are the current FA youth cup holders and do more than most teams in the league to nurture young talent and bring them through.

 

Another person who wanted his say was Gary Megson. In what was probably the stupidest thing to come out of his mouth (i know its hard to choose) he deduced the premier league should have a salary cap. "They (the authorities) are going to have to have a look at it if they want a more balanced Premier League," no mention as to how this would effect our league, with players leaving in droves to play in foreign leagues with more money.

 

Anyway i think its clear from the media, managers and players (jealous) that they believe we are ruining football, but doesnt it feel like we are a little late to the party? Blackburn, Chelsea, Leeds etc are all clubs that have spent above their means. And what about Megson's salary cap, this could have worked if it had been implemented worldwide by FIFA years ago, but they have missed the boat. What about SKY and the crazy money that has been pumped into football since the premier league began without actually making sure it was spent wisely

 

anyway heres a list of people that ruined football, and Franny Lee aside, we arent even close to ruining it yet....

Everton were able to break into the top four, without stupid spending!We wont be perhaps too far of it this season, with one decent signing and a hell of a lot of team spirit.

 

I say, if your going to do it Man City.....get on with it, but don't expect sympathy, when your big stars get injured, ruin team spirit, get marked out of the game by the likes of Jagielka and you finish mid table.........

 

Perhaps for the good of football......it will all go wrong.

 

 

Maybe in five years time there will be a statue of Kenwright outside Goodison Park.

Man City have been around a while but anyone thinking that the lustre of the sky blue greats that have gone before (Colin Bell, the chubby tumbler and bog-roll magnate Frannie Lee, Tony Book, ermm... Shaun Goater?...) will attract the big names to Eastlands is three strikers short of a starting XI (although that wouldn't worry David Moyes).

Just came to me this morning what's wrong with this Kaka deal.

 

If someone gave Davey (or another manager of a similarly sized club) £100m to spend on a player/players then he'd be expected to challenge for the title....or at least break into the Champions League places.

Sticking Kaka into the current City team is not going to transform them to that extent....not a chance.

 

Six £15/£20m players just might.

 

So I really don't think the argument that the deal makes "financial and footballing sense" holds up.

Like you said Mike, City should be looking to bring in numerous players. That's what is going to keep them up, put quality all over the pitch; not just one star player. As good as Kaka is he's not going to keep them up. Go for him in the summer when it's a clean slate and your place in this league is secured.

 

If Hughes really is fully behind this deal then he loses a lot of respect because he's always struck me as an intelligent manager, not an idiot.

I imagine the owners asked Hughes who the best player was , and said get him .

Hughes must be under immense pressure at the moment , as he knows he has to turn a very average side into premier contenders within probably 2 seasons max , and that for me is impossible , given the quality that already exists in the prem .

He has had some success in management , but I thought Sven might have taken City to contenders without flashing the same cash . I really can't see Hughes keeping the job , so not sure why he has been given such a huge green light .

 

The chances of Kaka having the same success in England is slim . Torres has been a success , but he has had a very strong ( ugly / cheating / hated / despicable / grrrrrrrrr / *!%#!! / could easily use up the forums bandwith ) Liverpool behind him .

Chelsea seem to be in a mess at the moment , and rumours suggest they are for sale , but who will buy them ?

 

Hughes would be wiser to buy potential , and save a few quid ..

I definitely agree that they'd be a lot better off spending that money on five or six great players versus one superstar player. Kaka is the last piece to the puzzle, the guy you sign when you've already got a squad on the verge of winning silverware and just need that one more big name to put it over the top. Bass ackwards, the way they're "building" (and I use the term loosely) this team, and if Robinho walks out and they end up being relegated I am going to laugh until my lungs collapse.

 

By the same token, though, I did like the comments from Noel Gallagher on people like Wenger and Fergie criticizing City for flashing the cash. Quote: "**** Arsene Wenger and his socialist football nonsense. **** all that b******t about the club losing its identity. What identity? The fact that we've been skint for 30 years?" He makes a good point there. You can laugh at City for being stupid about how they spend their money (after all, we've been laughing at Newcastle's stupidity for years), but anyone associated with any of the Big Four has absolutely no business criticizing any other club for big spending. That just reeks of hypocrisy.
