shetland
Thats gotta be the first time in ages we've done that! Nice to see we can go 3-1 up and add a striker, things aint looking too bad!!! Aint it strange how we've only come from behind to win twice this season, both times against West Ham, both times ending 3-1 and Louis scoring twice in both fixtures!! shetland
Yes we'll be 1 point ahead!!!!! according to SSN they should have scored a few 2nd half but still 1-1!
Guest efctaxi
If they draw , we will be 1 pt clear in 5th . Infact they've finished 1-1 , so we are now 5th .

CraccerC
nice that we're 5th but we never win at craven cottage...assuming that we don't i'm happy to see us drop to 6th to see the barcodes go down...now that'll be a moment
Ian C
I'd prefer us AND Villa to win and see Newcastle go down Then we can dump the bogey and not have to listen to Newcastle fans next season

CraccerC
ideally, we win, villa win and spurs lose...still nice position to be in if we defend like we did today in the final though, we'll get hammered...that was not intentional Edited May 16, 2009 by CraccerC
Guest efctaxi
Fulham deserve a Uefa place . I'm absolutely made up for them , and might just turn a blind eye next week if they get a result
Blue 250
Dominated most of the game, though I think a pretty pro ref helped us today! He even gave Osman a nice hug after the final whistle.....I don't suppose he can be the ref for the cup final Even at 1-0 down I couldn't see us losing today, but that said the final ball today wasn't very good. Thought Cahill and Pienaar worked hard and Saha did his job, just cant see him(Saha) giving Chelsea much trouble unless we improve his service. Defence were decent, though West Ham were poor, and obviously only 10 men. BUT!.....Were 5th, deprived of three of our best and who can blame the lads for having at least one eye on the final.....so that said, that was a great result! Romey 1878
I thought we started the first half well, then we faded badly, and then finished the first half strongly. The second half was completely different - we were strong and dominant. We played some really good football at times, sometimes overplaying it but I can forgive that . It was a bit worrying that at times our defense looked all over the place; most notably Lescott tbh. I was a little annoyed that Osman got 90 minutes and Fellaini was taken off when he had been our best player up until that point. 3 points and mostly an excellent performance from the lads and we're into fifth, hopefully we can keep the title of being the best of the rest by finally ending our Craven Cottage hoodoo! Howard - Didn't have much to do. Jacobsen - Had plenty of the ball and did fuck all with it. I was disappointed. Yobo - Nice to see him get a goal. He had mostly a good game, but his lapse of concentration could have cost us badly. Fortunately it didn't. Lescott - Not his best game IMO. He looked quite nervous today for me and him and Yobo were too far apart at times, meaning our defence simply melted away at times. Baines - Did everything spot on apart from his final delivery, it was shockingly bad for the most part. Osman - This boy has one pace; snail pace. The game just passed him today, he was terrible. Neville - Excellent performance. I thought he was brilliant today; ALWAYS available for the ball, mopping up the West Ham attacks, and he's such a calming influence on our midfield when we're under the cosh. Cahill - He's not as effective attacking wise but, for me, he's showing that he CAN play as a proper midfielder. I thought he had a decent game today and should have scored that header. Pienaar - He has stepped up perfectly in Arteta's absence. He was fucking brilliant today. He ran at West Ham time and time again, was always looking for the ball, won us countless free-kicks, and the turn for our third goal was actually beautiful. My MOTM. Fellaini - I thought he had a very good game today. He held the ball up well (as usual), his passing looked crisp, he stopped a few West Ham, and he ran at West Ham quite a few times which is something I haven't really seen him do. Also, when we were looking a bit lethargic in the first-half he was pretty much the only one who looked interested in the game. Saha - He had a good game. He dropped deep and brought others into the game very well. Nice to see him on the scoresheet twice as well. Sometimes he was far too greedy with the ball and turned into trouble though. The Beard
I know Moyes will be predicting that we want to finish with a flourish but as we can't finish lower than sixth, will an extra place be worth a full on tilt of a cup final win. I can even see the board having a say on how we approach the last two games and with that scepticism in hindsight I predict a boring 0-0 What do I know about football hey, well I certainly didnt see yesterday coming. :blush02:
