Am going to sound harsh here but i think we all believe it at some point. He will never make it at everton, we might aswell get rid, instead of moving the poor lad round every season, giving him false hope he will make it at everton

Then again, this way he gets to sell himself to a load of different clubs, leagues and managers. If he was a free agent he'd have 1 year and 1 shot to perform or else he'd be playing for Bury's reserves. Once he finally leaves us he'll have more experience, a better reputation and he'll be a better player for it.

An alternative view could be that the club thinks he may be a "late developer" and still think he has a future with us?

That said I do believe that this may be his last chance to show his potential.

Giving him another full season on loan in a lower league can only be good for all concerned (It worked for Ossie!)

He gets valuable 1st team football and a chance to develop at little/no cost to us and also it puts him in the shop window if DM decides that he's not going make it.

Skysports.com understands Coventry are closing in on the signing of Everton striker Lukas Jutkiewicz.

The Sky Blues are believed to have initially asked about signing Jutkiewicz on loan only to see their overtures rebuffed by Everton.

However, Coventry have now come back in with a firm offer for Jutkiewicz as they look to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.

Jutkiewicz, who enjoyed a loan spell at Motherwell last season, has just one year to run on his current deal and Everton are thought to be ready to sell the former Swindon man.

With David Moyes having signed Jermaine Beckford and Magaye Gueye this summer to bolster his attacking options it appears Jutkiewicz will be allowed to leave Goodison Park.

Coventry boss Aidy Boothroyd is a big fan of Jutkiewicz and is hoping to thrash out a deal for the player in the near future.

TRANSFER: Jutkiewicz signs for Sky Blues

Posted on: Mon 26 Jul 2010

COVENTRY City have signed Everton striker Lukas Jutkiewicz for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old striker, who joined the Toffees in 2007, has agreed a three-year deal and becomes manager Aidy Boothroyd's sixth summer signing.

Jutkiewicz spent the 2009/10 season on loan at Motherwell, where he scored 11 goals.

He started his career at Swindon, making his debut at 17, and he went on to help the club win promotion to League One.

His efforts caught the eye of Everton, where he made his debut in the 2008/09 season. He also enjoyed loan spells at Plymouth Argyle and Huddersfield Town.

Boothroyd said: "We are delighted to have Lukas on board and this adds more strength to the squad.

"We wanted to enhance our attacking options and this will certainly do that. He is at the right age too, to grow and develop with Coventry City."

Jutkiewicz follows Lee Carsley, Gary McSheffrey, Richard Keogh, Roy O'Donovan and Stephen O'Halloran as new signings at the Ricoh Arena this summer.
