barryj
Tim Howard is out of form? Out of form is a few games, this has been going on for at least a year and a half!I don't think Robles is the answer though. I'll be proved right if he gets a long run of games (won't happen though)
duncanmckenzieismagic
Howard hasn't been great. But, the willingness of some fans to blame him for our lack of defensive organization and inability to defend a FK/corner is plain silly. Coaching/tactics have more to do with these issues than Tim flapping at a cross. We've conceded so many goals that he should have never had to watch go into his net because our players can't mark anyone and don't pressure the ball. I agree that he isn't solely culpable for how shite we are at the back. Whenever a ball gets pumped into our box nobody wants to take responsibility for dealing with it If you are a centre half and you know the bloke in the sticks behind you couldn't catch a cold you have to attack every ball. That's not happening and it needs sorting on the training ground The bottom line though is that Howard is no longer good enough and he needs to go
johnh
Another troubling fact about giving up 4 today: none of the 4 came off a set piece or a corner. Heaven knows what would have happened had Stoke taken more than 2 corners. The commentator mentioned that Everton and Stoke have scored fewer goals from set pieces than any other team in the Premiership. He said Everton have scored two and Stoke only one.
