Adams
Seen alot of people takling about how they like the "aol arena" i got a picture of it and edited it in photoshop and made it look like wat it would probaly look like if it was evertons stadium. Its only rough and just gives us a basic idea of what it would look like, its not in massive detail just rough. Cheers and what do you think

thebluenose
id so love a stadium like that. its unique. good capacity and good for atmosphere. all we need to do is add summit to the outside that dont make it look like all the other new stadiums ruperts tower anyone
StevO
would it be possible to move the real Ruperts tower? that would be fantastic, also put Dixies statue out side the Dean Stand/End. where the outside it bare frame work on the AOL make it Glass around the outside, maybe some legendary photos around the outside from classic Everton moments? and have Everton FC on the roof a la AOL ArenA and just a quick one, does anybody know what it cost to build the AOL??? cant find much english info on it
Louis
http://www.aol.de/shared/aolarena/flash.html £168million - but they had to demolish the old stadium first and they built it in three stages so that the original stadium never closed (HSV play there in the Bundesliga). So to start from scratch would be a lot cheaper.

The RS stadium in Stanley Park is expected to be over £250m. 64million Euro built in 2 years MUSEUM thats how you do it

They have an approach to building work that is unmatched anywhere in the world. e.g. WEMBLEY, what a farse, it could have been built for half the cost in half the time if it were in mainland Europe, but we are treasure island. Our booze costs more, our cars cost more, our electrical goods cost more, CD's, Gas, Electricity and just about everything else, so why should we get away with cheap stadia?. Louis
Simple - we bring the germans over They are EU citizens and would lap up how much we pay builders. German Doctors come to England to do locums for the NHS and take away £3000 a night. So I'd imagine the building trade would also be cheap in comparison to getting the usual LAING O'ROURKE in. thebluenose
simple japanese people. they work harder for less. they can build fucking amazing stadiums (revolving stadiums but thats not what were getting) and of course they can build a 60,000 seater in less than 8 months. get them in. theyll be cheaper than the germans
Mac
Now we're talking, I see lots of enthusiasm for saving ourselves a few bob. Let's hope the club see this. But Scousers being Scousers, I can see the unions having one or two things to say about cheap foreign labour. ATB Mac
Pat
Its is not the Building companies etc. Its the red tape & Bullshit that blows out costs & seems to go along with building anyhting in the Uk these days. Look @ Mutliplex - Delivered Sydney Football Stadoium 18 mnths early, Sydney olympic stadium 12 mnths early, the new 1 in Philadelphia they finished 9 mnths early..see a pattern here. They can even meet deadlines & work under the constraints of the Chinese Govt with few hassles. Yet Wembley..Still waiting ? Been told in lay terms that these companies sign these deals in the Uk then the shite starts to flow after via burecrats...Oh no you cant buy steel of them there not EU aligned & oh no you cant poss get ya concrete of them & on & on & on. Wahtever, whoever, itll blow out 4 sure...tiz the way the system is set up. Maybe Bill the builder will have to get his hands dirty?

ATB Mac Mac they got the poles and hungarians to build the emirites where as wembeley was built by cockneys hence the difference in completion! if we get the imigrants to build it fair play to them and we get a good stadium but i want it to be unique like the san siro and not some dead bowl like the ricoh arena the walkers stadium etc! MikeO
Our new Tescos was built (very quickly) with a lot of Lithuanian labour. Can't remember the name of the company but the town was crawling with orange vans for months. Tescos don't fuck about (someone said that elsewhere) so if they're involved then things should happen fairly fast (if they happen at all). StevO
i find it funny were discussing what nationality should the builders be i dont want the polish, the only thing there good for where i work is scratching, sorry, i mean cleaning the cars
MikeO
Have a slightly prejudiced view on Polish workers I'm afraid. An illegally working Pole saved my life (really) in 1993 so I'm all for them, especially as a legally working one fixed the leak in my shower last week . Don't care who builds it really as long as it gets built. Thinking about it I've got a trowel somewhere...I'll do it if you like !

Mac
I am loving all these idea's, but I was thinking we could have the dugouts in the shape of sheds with a stash of stodge under each fold away deck chair used by the subs. Instead of havinfg a church in the corner of the ground, just build a gigantic f*ck off shed. ATB Mac
