Romey 1878
I do, it's an embarassment when a team like that can get over 200 runs against us

jamiemaher85
The attendances at the world cup are appaling. Its depressing seeing stadiums not even half full. I went to the world cup last time it was over here and saw Zimbabwae Vs Pakistan (i think, i was but a wee nipper) and the place was packed. Dunny the Blue
Yeh ive been thinkin the same, wonder if its just a money thing??
jamiemaher85
you'd think that the wouldnt bother putting it on there if they cant afford to draw a crowd. they will probably loose a fair bit of money this way, and it doesn't do the sport any justice. Watching cricket can seem very boring on TV but when your their its awesome. I went to the Ashes (when we won) at Trent Bidge and the atmosphere was immense. Got very drunk throughout the day as well. But it was one of the best sporting events i have ever been too (second only to the world cup in Germany)
Romey 1878
They're treating the death of Bob Woolmer as suspicious. Do you reckon he could have been murdered? Scary thought I know.
jamiemaher85
^^^ i really want to know whats going on with this one. It would be awful if he had been murderd or soemthing like it.He was a bit of a legend. something must be going on if they release a press statement saying that their are treating the death a suspicous. MikeO
The only possible upset IMO would be maybe in group B where Bangladesh (ranked 9) could push either India (5) or Sri Lanka (6). Well there you go...wish I'd put some money on it . No-one could have seen Ireland going through at Pakistans expense though.

MikeO
146-2 after 26 overs against Oz....so far so good, hopefully get a decent total...300+ from there. Bangladesh beating SA yesterday opened it up a bit.
Romey 1878
Now we've lost Bell. Lets hope this isnt the start of our usual collapse. EDIT - Collingwood gone now aswell, Freddy in. I expect Freddy to be walking back within 10 balls. Edited April 8, 2007 by Romey 1878

Romey 1878
Well we did fall apart, we were well on the way to 300+ but we didnt even reach 250. The Aussies will demolish this score.
Bill
Brought this up to the top rather than start a new topic world cup 20 -20. Just seen the start of NEW ZEALAND vs KENYA and KENYA have lost 4 wickets for 1 Run Could we have an all time low score in this competition. MikeO
Got 73 in the end. A respectable total from 1-4. I once played for my school against the local Royal Grammar.....always used to stuff us at every "posh" sport, vast resources and top notch facilities and coaches put us at a distinct disadvantage....anyway it was an after school limited over game, must have been quite short to avoid playing in the dark, they hammered us for 200 odd for about two.....we were bowled out for twelve in reply (I second top scored with two ).
