Louis Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 if it wasn't for the referees http://www.rightresult.net/ It's not the most reliable site but it's interesting to look at the table. Quote
BLUE-TAC Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 ...and the shite in 9th! If only. Goes to show tho, in fact all the 'actual' top 4 teams have more pts than they should according to that table (except man u). Funny that in'it! Quote
Pat Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 eye See Benitez rolling out the Stock standard long Ball / physical drivvle again after this weekend's match. Hold the phone, his team must have LOST eh Getting Boring Rafa, get a new sentance. Quote
Philinsuffolk Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 Maybe so in relation to decisions but lets not go there hey. A) We don't want to bleat. We love the club and want to be succesful so much. But lets not lose touch of the fact we also love the footy and dodgy decsions should not be lost from the game..otherwise it will just become paint by numbers. Mind you, Clive Thomas never did quite own up to just making a bad decision...!! Quote
Pat Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Clive is still " dining out " on those decisons ;( Quote
Calico Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Poor decisions do not make football interesting. Good football does, surely? Quote
MikeO Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 This thread could now be re-named.. We should be sitting in fifth! (not that I'm complaining mind, the man whose name rhymes with my favourite cake has done us a huge favour ) Quote
Zed Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 Im guessing clatenburg Or maybe that other refereee Alan Rakewell Quote
Bill Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 We could be sitting in 3rd. If you go back early season we lost 1-0 to Reading, in their first 6 games they only scored 3 goals and the only game they managed to win was against us. That was a poor 1-0 loss and 3 points down the swanee. But Football is all about ifs and buts, the uncertainty of the results makes the game so exciting, i mean who would have thought that the same Reading side would stuff the RedS 3-1. Quote
Blue4Ever Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 The thing is, if we had won and drawn games refs have fucked up etc.. we might not have won some of the games we have lately, if that makes sense haha. Quote
Calico Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 Yeah. Football is swings and roundabouts is what you mean? Quote
zequist Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 That's exactly what I was thinking. You've heard so many of the guys say that getting robbed against Liverpool really ticked them off, woke them up, pulled them together, etc. and so forth - if that doesn't happen then maybe they don't pick up 32 of 36 over these last 12 games. It's hard to say for certain one way or the other though, just because emotion and momentum are such tricky, unpredictable things. Who can say whether a deserved win over Liverpool might have galvanized us the same way, or lulled us into a false sense of security? Quote
MikeO Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 32 points from twelve games would be championship form....if only . We've actually got 17 from a possible 21 in the league, none too shabby for sure but if we win the next five we'll be top two . Quote

Lol, win the next Five Beat Man Utd, Arsenal will be a tough task, but i rekon we could come away with a result against both, like a 1-1 will do nicely against both and Phil Neville Snapping Ronaldo's legs aswell. GMorrison183 Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Just bringing this back up. The scum should be 12 points back from us at this point I would feel a lot more confident about our champions league hopes if it were true. Quote
Trigger Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Well, The worst case scenario now is that Liverpool win the Champions League and we finish 4th ( Under the new ruling I think this means Liverpool qualify for 2009 CL and we don't! Come on Inter Milan in Milan!!!! Quote
zequist Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 (edited) Well, The worst case scenario now is that Liverpool win the Champions League and we finish 4th ( Under the new ruling I think this means Liverpool qualify for 2009 CL and we don't! Come on Inter Milan in Milan!!!! That's right. Anyone who wins the CL now gets an automatic return bid, and if they didn't otherwise qualify then the lowest-placed qualifier from that country gets bumped to make room. Unfortunately between AC's collapse in '05 and Inter's pathetic display this year, it doesn't look like we can count on these Italian teams to do anything right, and the Spanish giants don't look like fielding vintage sides this year. Guess we'll have to hope that Liverpool draw ManU or Chelsea somewhere along the way. Edited February 20, 2008 by JD in DC Quote
MikeO Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Update on this . "We could be sitting in Third!" http://www.rightresult.net/ Quote
Randomness Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 with plus 28 GD!!! MY LORD! the conspiracy theorists should really start looking at referees and everton. Quote
