Mirallas

In an interview to a Belgian radio show today, Romelu Lukaku expressed his wish to play one level higher than West Brom. He said he didn't want to return to Chelsea per sé, but that he wanted to get back in touch with European football.
 
Chelsea will definitely keep him in the EPL. So there's 7 teams that are better than West Brom who'll play European football. Neither of the Manchesters need him. Arsenal and Tottenham are too close competitors to Chelsea, plus they're from London. That leaves Liverpool FC and Everton FC.
 
It's vague and it's speculation, but it's his wish and it's a loan that would make sense to both teams, but I suppose he'd get more chances to play at EFC than at LFC, because of Sturridge. All I'm saying is that it is a signal and with a bit of 1+1=2, we can take notice of this. Plus Fellaini and especially Mirallas are buddies of Lukaku

I thought he was utter garbage and a waste of any loan fee, and isn't worth a fraction of the reported 20 million. He'll never get a starting place in Chelsea as long as he has 2 feet so Jose was right to get shut of him as quickly as he did. Barkley you may ask? I thought he had a very average game by his standards however the 2 goals he was bearing down on the 18 yard box at pace before being taken out. His intentions create opportunity even when he ain't firing.
 
Don't get mevwrong mirallas had his best game he's had so far this season, hard not to really as he has been shite apart from the last 20 minutes against Chelsea.
 
Baines never put a foot wrong defensively, linked up well and scored 2 out of two free kicks... But mirallas gets your vote? Based on the fact that in irder to justify it two world class free kicks are omitted form the judging criteria. Joke.

Those are 2 seperate things. The arabian money financed the whole project, but still, what happened on the pitch was te work of the (bought) staff and squad. Bank checks didn't win the title, but Gareth Barry did and that's what I'm trying to say.

They state no source, but it's a rumor that's been popping up every now and then. If it were to be true, hypothetically, who knows we might have a chance to keep Lukaku permanently? Chances he'll be sold will be considerable.

I think if you have Deulofeu and Mirallas at your disposition, those two will most likely be 2 of your 3 attackers, flanking the center forward. Off course, Jela and Koné provide options, cause I think RM wouldn't tend to give Mirallas the feeling that his place in the starting line up should be taken for granted. So just to keep him sharp.

With McCarthey, Pienaar and Osman as midfield alternatives (!) and Jela and Kone as forward alternatives. Hibbert, Oviedo, Duffy, Stones and Alcaraz can provide emergency backup in the back.
 
So what concerns our squad options, I wouldn't be too worried about those. It's more what RM does with it, cause he sure has a wealth in options that DM didn't have in the past.

You're not the first one to say that, but let us get this straight once and for all: Mirallas is not a midfielder, he can't do midfield. He's a 100% pure forward ,even if he's put on a wing. He can't defend even if his life depended on it, he doesn't have the overview, passing talent or man cover that a midfielder ought to have. He's a dribbler and a goal scorer. He pressures, breaks through defenses and scores goals. He is even perfectly usable as a center forward.
