  1. with Neville in the trenches we can expect long ball and slow build up to be on the menu - go for 1 goal lead and then close shop - Neville and Osman as def mids are a push over - poor back 4 will have their work cut out today and Mucha will get mucha exercise hope we do it up front against weak Wigan defense
  2. Reading beat the 3-0 just the other day - so we should cruise home - hope we play attacking attractive football and make one step closer to silverware - Martinez would very much like to impress the Everton supporters - so expect a belter
  3. well spotted there Paul - very few people saw that he actualy extended his leg instead of retracting it - nobody talks about the clear off side by van Persie just before the Real own goal - Man United should have had no goal - the blue eyed boy just can not understand or believe that he can also be punished like most other normal clubs in the league by officials - look at the Sir's boyish tantrum after the red card - obviously no dissent of course - just the way an upset Sir can behave as coach of the Sir Side - no sympathy - exactly what they deserved - to bring them back to earth and the reality for us - the poor mortal souls so used to official abuse
  4. i predict a Man United double League and FA CUP - farewell present for Alex Ferguson
  5. Matt i did not see that one - but in my book it should have been red - unless the injured player could be held totally responsible for his injury if they had an English ref Nani would never ever have received red - very few England players get red cards from English refs - just my perception -
  6. i agree with you Mike - technically it was a red - studs up - both feet off the ground - above waist - made contact - whole tooty !!! - did you see Nani rolling around as though his leg was broken to distract the ref - he knew he was in trouble - he could have retracted his leg when he realized other player was coming in - "Could have killed him !!!!! " Alex would have said with the MAN UNITED supporters in quorus - if you do a bicycle kick surrounded by a bunch of players and you break somebody's nose - it should be red - you can not do something dangerous unless you are sure it is safe - jumping a stop street without having seen the other car coming does not excuse you - Man United got what they deserved - they are just not used to it - Real Madrid scored all 3 goals anyway lol
  7. on Saturday WBA had a 16 year old on their bench - for him it was gaining experience - but beching a 20-24 year old player is ruining him in the long run
  8. When will Velios be good enough or rather old enough for Mr Moyes to play him ? only when they eventually sell Jelavic - which is terribly short sighted - maybe the two of them played together was the solution to our problems up front - but we will never know as Mr Moyes does not experiment with youngsters - if i was Velios i would certainly look for opportunities to further my carreer - at Everton he like many other young players go stale because of lack of pressure - what creates diamonds ? pressure not bench warming

we are not really a couinter attacking team - so i hope don't go on defense now - boss the game and squeeze the life out of Reading

the uncertainty reflected in this thread - tells a story of its own - we are worrying about all our games which is unnatural for the fans of a team 6th on the log - the players with the help of the coach of course must reverse this apprehension by playing with confidence and winning convincingly - otherwise we will all end up being nervous wrecks - Come on Everton - play to your ability for a change and we will hopefully stop moaning and bitching
  14. without a striker or two firing on all cylinders no side will win the leaugue - if Mr Moyes has not been able to get a striker or two doing just that in 11 years i doubt he ever will - maybe the Everton style of play is focussed on not losing games instead of winning games by scoring goals - defending small leads , subbbing strikers for defenders etc
  15. a)squad showed very little developement - went rather stale instead - smallest number of players used by any club in the PL - very predictable line-up - makes planning defending against us easy - success stories : Mirallas , Coleman , Baines as an attacker , Fellaini as all rounder , beating Man United at home , FA Cup run against weak sides - transfer window : what is that ? b)prediction : 8th or 9th next season : same unless we get new coach or lots of money c)Liverpool and Swansea will more than likely pass us and WBA will be close to us - Reading : you stuffed up in your last 2 games - beating Villa and Shampton won't be enough - my gut feel is unfortunately that we will miss Reading in the PL next season - apart from le Fondre your squad lacks top class players (more than Everton ) - you have too many English players in your squad to compete against sides packed with mostly international stars - you are not a media favourite - not flashy enough - (Everton has same problem lol ) you are a good side boxing way above your weight with lots of guts and giving your all but unfortunately running at such high refs constantly (opposed to cruising ) eventually takes its toll - good luck for the rest of the season - may the best team on the day win on Saturday - hopefully the post and the ref won't be the deciding factor
  16. good goals win games - if you depend on penalties and deflectiond for 66% of your goals you will lose more than you will win - this is a poor side - 1 proper goal is not good enough in my books to call it better than an average performance - compare this game to the Swansea one and tell me which team that won looked the best ? if we play like this against a good side we will lose 8 out of 10
  17. Glad we won - very average performance - only 1 good goal - no clean sheet - Jelavic Neville and Pienaar poor - Subs very predictable and ungutsy - youth development ? what is that mr Moyes a better team would have punished us for going into defensive mode 15 min from the end - lets just say i hope our luck in the Cup lasts
  18. but seeing Neville in the side my prediction goes out the window - we should still scrape home 2-1 now i think - if Everton needs the captaincy of Neville against a sh*te side like Oldham Everton is desperate - it is the last game where i would pick him - but probably his best chance of shining and clocking another win which he as captain will claim credit for - Moyes has not gambled a single cent - backed his bankers - they owe us big time - not only a win against this bunch of 3rd league relegators
  19. i hope the Everton dressing room is more positive than this thread - there should be no question in their minds - they are playing a 3rd leauge team in the relegation zone which fired its coach 3 weeks ago - ffs - if we can't Swansea them we must not even dream about Europe - where we shall embarress English football with our current style of play - i think we can thump them if we don't show them too much respect and throttle them from the start - Everton 4 - 0 if we don't go and defend a 1 goal lead
  20. Laudrup , Martinez or Clarke or DiMatteo will do for me - sell \ retire Neville , Naismith , Osman , Heitinga , and one of our 3 strikers play Oviedo left back - buy a striker - a true one - not another poacher - we need at least one solid defensive mid and one quick running attacking mid - Lukaku would be ideal but Chelsea paid 18 mil for him and puts him out on loan
  21. ahhhhghhh mannnnn !!!! only watched a rebroadcast now - read thread - most have been said - story of the current Everton life - most players tried hard initially - we created a few chances but still appears fairly toothless - fortunately Baines did his defensive duties better but his absense up front should have been replaced by someone else - Jelavic looked the best i have seen for a while - but is not good enough to operate as a lone striker - he will hunt as one of a pair - Mirallas Oviedo and Hitzelsperger should have replaced Osman , Naismith or Gibson with Fellaini dropping back to def mid - attack is the best way of defense - standing with your back against a wall with your hands raised is called surrender in my book - a good team beats a weaker one - it does not hang on to a slender lead - Mr Moyes's body language looks very negative - even depressed - lacks enthusiasm and a lively fighting spirit - we have gone stale in a bad way and a gale of fresh air is seriously needed - Mr Moyes - lift your chin - smile - appologise and face the facts and the world with a gritty determination to avoid all your achievements at this club to be oveshadowed by a sad ending to your illustrious career as Everton coach
  22. i like the team exept for Mirallas and Velios not playing - i don't think Fellaini will ever become a striker or co-striker - he is too easily marked out of the game if he hangs around the box - but as a whole it is one of the better sides this season we have playing today - hope they show some agression and don't leak the early goal from our left - GO EVERTON !
  23. Although conceding 40 goals this season Norwich have managed 8 clean sheets and lost only 3 out of 13 games at home - they have 11 draws - one less than us and they have only lost 1 of their last 5 games - tough nut to crack this one - but if we want to be a top4 side we just have to
  24. Jelavic is not an out and out striker - but he will feed very well off one - picking up \poaching all the scraps that a good striker makes flying around the box - our only striker sort of is Anichebe - therefore with what we have they should play together or Jelly and Velios - but playing him as a lone striker and lumping long balls to him is a waste of time
  25. Norwich have been on a little Everton run lately - 4 draws out of their last 5 played - hope this one goes someone's way and it is ours
