  1. welcome BlueGerman - hope to see your contributions soon - from a German perspective
  2. did Pienaar get into the Dream Team this season with a lucky draw ? He is not the best in the leauge but there are more players worse than him in Everton than better - we are going to miss him on Saturday - who is going to fill his shoes?
  3. Read my last post on this thread - Baines and Pienaar - take one away and the other will fade. Where was Bainsy after Pienaar left the scene - nowhere to be seen.Pienaar is one the hardest working midfielders in the leauge - we are going to miss him for sure - especially Baines.
  4. D K - if most people got robbed - should we then legalize robbery ? cause what is going on at the moment in the premier league is nothing but daylight robbery ! and what makes it worse that some of us are getting mugged senseless while others are getting gifted .........
  5. Jags , Howard and Distan saved our bacon - who would have predicted 3 defenders being the stars against the bottom of the table side - hehehe

All things were not equal - once again! The ref , the post and bad luck got in our way for the umpteenth time. But we performed way below par - playing so many people out of position - stuffed up our midfield.Unfortunately i have to agree the old dog Neville can no longer run with the young bucks and should be put to pasture as soon as possible. The Pienaar red card was another disgrace for officiating in this league - the 2nd yellow was not even a foul!!! The best thing Moyes did today was his post match interview - talked straight . I also get the impression Everton struggles in the rain - they don't play the compact short-pass game required. After todays performance i am adjusting Evertons credit rating downwards - i am sad to say.Great sides make a plan not excuses.

Today's results (Saturday) have not really increased the pressure - should we win tomorrow we will hold 4th on our own - Go Everton Go !!!!!
  9. The second goal for Stoke against Man United was a hand ball and should not have been allowed - it was a difficult one for the ref to spot but a replay clearly showes it - the truth is there for all to see but we prefer to ignore it - why?

My bet is that he will not get a big offer from any of the big 5 in the Premier League before the next transfer window - maybe a blessing for us - lets see.

Look - Fellaini is a good player, but to me he is a hibrid between a midfieder and a striker - good at both but not an expert in either (jack of all trades , master of none). A midfielder with a higher work rate might create more opportunities for the strikers and make more of a contribution in defense. If he is on song he is a pleasure to watch - but he tends to sing intermittantly. We have to show ourselves that we can win witout him - so if he leaves it won't be the end of the world for Everton.
  12. Maybe the sentence you refer to was just human error by an official - we don't need review or appeal because bad decisions like that encourages lively debate - and by the way the judicial officers have been doing it that way for generations! ( just pulling your leg - hehehe ) In the criminal justice system the criminals are the beneficiaries of most bad decisions - that is why crime pays these days - sad to say.
  13. Oficials should be evaluated post match in a transparant way and also receive yellow and red cards depending on the severity of their fouling of the rules. At this stage they are not held publicly liable for blatant errors - in other words there is no deterrant preventing certain officials becoming habitual offenders costing some sides plenty - even to the extent of spoiling a whole season's work if a side misses out on acheiving something by 1 or 2 points. We just cannot afford to tolerate incompetancy at this level - this season has been shocking so far - and not doing the immage of the sport any good.No amount of talking can correct an obvious injustice - justice must be seen to be done!
  14. Mirallas scored for Belgium agaist Serbia - the 3rd goal in a 3-0 win - he came on as a replacement and 2 minutes later scored - but i think he was in a off-side position when the ball was passed to him.
  15. I agree that the off-side rule should be scrapped. It has been done with great success in hockey and has led to more goals and less interference by officials - the end result is a more flowing game and more action - what more can we ask. The restrictive game with few goals however makes it possible for a lion like England to be matched against a mouse like San Marino - that means more games more money - for the people in charge - they don't care a damn for spectators and fair play - as long as they can become even fatter cats.

Look - all things being equal - we should bury them - the only things in our way would be another biased ref , another post and some more bad luck.
  17. Unfortunately we do not have that many Everton supporters in SA . As Everton supporters we have quite a hard time over here. But at least we can say being an Everton supporter is not a fashion or a craze or just jumping on the bandwagon to support the favourites or media darlings. So to me being an Everton supporter shows something about your character - a your knowledge about sportmanship and your ability to think independantly from the masses.Viva Everton Viva !!!!
  18. Introduction of an orange and a white card.Orange more serious than yellow but not red - player goes to sinbin for 10 minutes and can then come back onto the field.White for incidents which warrants retrospective correction by a panel of officials - for doubtfull fouls , dives , dangerous play etc - this should assist in cleaning up the game.Injured players should also be taken off the field and treated to avoid tactical delays.
  19. i found the decisionmaking around the taking of the penalty in the Wigan game a bit disorganized.Mirallas clearly wanted to take it but it seems as though Pienaar decided Baines was our man - where was the captain in all of this? i have noticed nothing serious amongst the players, but the point is that players who get along well with each other have a better team spirit and play for the team instead of for themselves - Baines and Pienaar is a case in point. Lets hope Moys can keep the boys together and keep the team spirit very positive - in any team sport power lies in unity more so than in talent -
  20. Dalziel to say we should keep on doing it cause it worked for my grandfather would have kept us stuck in the dark ages. They simply did not have the technology available in the old days.I would like to see the uproar if these horrific decisions start going against the M Uniteds and Chelseas of the world and it leads to them not winning the league or missing out on Europe. But us minows must always bear the brunt of what i call blatant manipulation.Everton will probably be given their 4 points back when they are no longer a threat for the big 5 going to Europe. Two wrongs have NEVER made one right. To allow an outdated system to influence the outcome of games is just short sighted and leaves us with more questions than answers.Debate should be stimulated by facts and not speculation.
  21. You should have seen the chaos when they tried to put another date stamp on it just next to the other one below its tail LOL
  22. Ello and welcome - i am also new but i must say i enjoy the quality of the coms - we look forward to hear your opinions.
  23. That Fallaini hairstyle is not new and weird - when i was young Arthur Ashe looked very much the same on Wimbledon. As far as Everton is concerned it is sad that it should be so difficult for the "normal" side like us to win the league. The existence of the European Leauge might just be the reason, because to compete there you cant afford to be a "normal" side. But now we have to face those abnormal sides in our backyard without the big guns - it is like going to a gunfight with a knife.
  24. I also strongly support retrospective banning for clear diving and the introduction of technology to prevent sides like Everton always drawing the short end of the stick - totally inconsistant with the law of averages.American football has introduced technology very successfully which promotes fair results and prevents manipulation and match fixing with all the betting going around. We are afterall expecting a fair contest and not a circus like WWF wrestling. We as the consumers must make our demands clear - we can not allow the money people to protect their interests through a system which is highly manipulateable and completely outdated and belonging to the amateur age when winning was not the be all and end all.
  25. For some strange reason soccer will probably be the last sport to introduce technology to limit human error. That is really sad because it is probably one of the easiest sports to apply it in . Bad referees make mistakes both ways - crooked referees and officials make mistakes one way - eliminate them by letting technology decide - at least it should be consistant because the machine does not know who is playing and at what stage of the game it is.Too much is at stake to accept the absolute horrible officiating i have seen this season in the Premier Leauge - if these are their best officials i hate to see their worst in lower leauges !
