  2. who would have thought dirty leeds would be showing the world how to act, with ken bates on board!
  3. i hope we get him just to shut you up and coz hes a decent footballer too
  4. i was hoping we'd bring in a midfielder for 8 yak could have had 9 when he signed but wouldnt take it. Im sure jo will carry on with 11
  5. in an ordinary situation i think 22 is great, but if we dont need to sell and they have cash to burn i think 30 is realistic. Moyes will have to buy a big name as well though.

  8. it was a trainng top. Can buy it from the store
  9. i cant believe it, all these players we've missed out on! scott parker, joey barton, damien duff, alan smith, if we keep on missing out on all of our targets, and they must be true because i read them, im gunna go mad! memma seriously mate, relax. it has been pointed out as lazy journalism over and over again. players have agents, they would like more money or a transfer. the agent thinks "my player isnt good enough for man united, liverpool, chelsea, arsenal or city. whos next, everton spurs and villa" agent rings the press, "ive had contact about my player from everton spurs and villa" his club decide they either want to keep the player and may give him more money, or they want to sell and tell the agent to find him another club. or, a manager has a player he wants shut of. calls the press "hi, ive just had a bunch of premier league clubs on the phone asking about johnny winger, we'll sell him if they give us about £5m. but i didnt tell you, wink wink" stop the press! "fc no mark are in talks with numerous clubs regarding a potential transfer of johnny winger. they arent looking to sell him, but they would be tempted to do business at £5m" the media is a very big and very effective tool for agents, clubs, players and managers alike. but dont believe it all.
  10. good news that. tonights echo says we'll turn down ANY offer, hope thats true.
  11. this, canada, is why the rest of the world dont give a crap about your country. im pretty sure everton were there for preseason fitness and not the money.
  12. if you dont like doom and gloom, maybe everton aren't the club for you. we live for this shit!
  13. i think your dont get it mate. downing might not be as good a left winger as ashley young, but its no good just having 11 players. look around villas squad, when all fit they have downing young milner and agbonlahor who can play on the wings. they can use more than one formation. they are expanding their squad with players that are proven in the premier league. they also have a small squad, i think for 10m downing will be a good long term signing for them. but like others i dont rate him, but thats a good price in todays market and he is a good player.
  14. the biggest scam since the moon landing! classic stuff!
  15. as much as i love timmmy and dunc, they should not be anywhere near the list of greats! from dixie, the holy trinity, young, hickson, labby and more, all of whom ive never witnessed, but won things at this club, i dont think any player in the last 20 years can come close (big nev the exception). but as mike said, dixie should walk it, and rightly so! edit; looking at some other clubs, luis garcia is on there for the rs! wigans has baines and matt jackson!
  16. i see ustoffee22 is our first blind member, currently using louis pioneering techniques in Braille web design as part of the latest upgrade.
  17. breaking news!!! - adpom is trying to buy everton!
  18. he definitely came to talk to us and had a good look around finch farm.
  19. if the club have known about him for a while you would think they would have decided before the end of last season if they were gunna try to sign him. doesnt seem very organised to me.
  20. the club has come so far over the last seven years, getting back to where we were before the bad days of the 90's. we've all come far with the club, we've watched players come and go, board members come and go, we've won derbies, we've lost derbies. we've pushed fiorentina to the brink of a brilliant come back only to be kicked back down by a penalty shoot out, we had a great day out against united at wembley, we've had a bad day out against chelsea. we've heard parents and relatives telling us what the good old days were like. we dont want to go back to the final days of the season (some of my worst childhood memories are being sat in goodison with my old man on the final days praying for the right result) we want to see this progress continue, i for one can not imagine going back to them days. im enjoying being at the right end of things. the thought of a second year without spending a penny to improve the squad worries me. im not even sure where im going with this, im just thinking about good and bad days ive gone through as a blue, and im not ready to go back. rant over, i think.
  21. i think just to be safe, without improving, im with Moyes. we need a centre half and a left back. then we'll have cover all over the pitch (pretty much) but if we want to improve we still need a centre half and a left back, but we'll need better quality players where ever we can get them, but the right hand side would logically be first choice for replacements. im a bit disappointed that nothing has really happened yet. moyes complained that the money wasnt there until late last year, im only assuming were in a similar position now. hes said where he wants to strengthen, id hope he knows what players he wants by now. if he does have the money there and knows what players he wants, i dont understand why he hasnt got them yet. im not going to complain right now, but if we dont have cover by august 15th i'll be worrying, if we dont by 1st September i'll be calling for heads to roll. not david moyes as i dont believe it will be his fault if we dont strengthen. after all, its two years since we actually spent any money on players.
  22. seriously though, he does keep saying he's looking for investment. he doesnt say hes looking for a buyer. i hope the next twist in this will be a more public one "we want to buy everton football club" would be nice. but that would then be followed by bill saying "oh no they dont"
  23. he looks pretty big in that pic! i know soccer is taken very seriously at college level in the US, so this could be revolutionary of moyes to start picking them up. getting them when they are 21, by the time they are 24 they could be very good quality players.
