  1. Only chance now is Liverpool dropping six points (if we win our three), either three draws or a win and two losses. Long shot .
  2. Good luck....I see you're in at thirteen in the midweek chart update. YNWA is nowhere....not a chance of that happening surely?
  3. Liverpool have arrived in Madrid for Thursday's Europa League semi-final with Atletico Madrid after a 1200-mile journey by train, coach and plane. The squad left Runcorn railway station at 1304 BST on Tuesday, reaching Madrid airport more than 24 hours later. They eventually flew from Bordeaux after an overnight stop in Paris. "The trip has been a bit tortuous but the important thing is that we are here and we're in a good mood," said Benitez. Horrific. Plush coach to Runcorn....first class train to Euston...luxury coach (for about a minute) to King's Cross...Eurostar Leisure select (afternoon meal, 3 courses consisting of starter, light hot main course and pastries, with wine, water and soft drinks served at your seat, complimentary newspapers and magazines provided, as well as spacious reclining seats with generous legroom. Each seat benefits from either a slide-out table or a fixed table shared with adjacent passengers) to Paris. Night in a five star hotel, first class train to Bordeaux, flight (first class?) to Madrid. Just like being tortured in fact. They should try Ryanair next time....that truly is torture .
  4. They're after di Maria and Cardozo from Benfica as well according to this... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=774542&sec=transfers&cc=5739 "It is logical that a club like Manchester City have to be attentive to players with such potential...." Arrogant twat.
  5. Not studied it particularly but I've always had the impression that Buddhist society is probably the most civilized on the planet .
  6. That'll have a few on here excited (but I think ET will spontaneously combust if TC's not there).
  7. Yeah...nearly missed that. Have a good day .
  8. Would be Barmby x 10. Doesn't bear thinking about....not listening :headphone: .
  9. The obstructed views are a nightmare. I'd buy one only for truly (or potentially) momentous games; the only time I have was for the United game after Alan Ball died when I just had to be there. You just need to look at the seating availability plan at online ticketing....this is Upper Gwladys 4 for Sunday's game but it's always the same. Plenty of obstructed (green) available and only the odd single "unobstructed" (though I'd argue that some of them are pretty close to being obstructed). If they sold obstructed for half price they'd sell a lot more but you only get a discount of £1....pathetic. We certainly have the ability to fill a bigger stadium....I'd like to see a capacity of maybe 55,000....60 may be pushing it a bit.
  10. Interesting. Better than being nailed in a box and buried (imo). Personally I'd go for cremation on an open pyre if it was legal but that's a decent alternative .
  11. Mastercard competition to win a VIP trip to the Champions League final. Prize consists of... Tickets to the UEFA Champions League Final 2010 courtesy of MasterCard Exclusive meet and greet with Pierluigi Collina Access to a team training session 3 nights, 4* hotel accommodation Return economy flights from London to Madrid Local transportation A £500 Prepaid MasterCard May have a bit of a problem with the second of those .
  12. That's quality...even my wife, who normally tells me to "bugger off" because "I'm not interested in football" when I try to show her a funny clip, is in hysterics here .
  13. BBC are travelling with them to Madrid... 1501: We are at Euston and there are two luxury coaches that have come as close as they can to the platform and are waiting for the players to take them on the short trip to King's Cross [0.4 miles away]. There are a lot of people here wondering what all the fuss is about as they can see these are two very glitzy, silver coaches and there are two camera crews as well. 0.4 miles away? Luxury coaches ? Would it hurt them to walk?
  14. Titleholder 2.06 Unless the UEFA Cup titleholder qualifies for the UEFA Champions League through its domestic championship, it is guaranteed a place in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League. If the titleholder does qualify for the UEFA Europa League through its domestic competitions, the number of places to which its national association is entitled in the UEFA Europa League does not change. If the UEFA Cup titleholder does not qualify for either the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League through its domestic competitions, its participation in the UEFA Europa League is not at the expense of the contingent of its association. http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/competitions/UEFACup/84/52/89/845289_DOWNLOAD.pdf So if Liverpool win it and finish seventh with us eighth we won't qualify. If Liverpool win it and finish eighth with us seventh we both qualify.
  15. Something missing I think . Horrible quality anyway.
  16. The Europa money won't be a big miss http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/villa-are-lucky-to-be-out-of-europa-league-1778904.html . Think you've summed it up pretty well. The current squad and anyone taking an informed interest (as any potential target would) can see the reasons we've not qualified this season (assuming we don't). Since Christmas the "big" four have been United, Chelsea, Arsenal and us....the potential in the club is the highest it's been for a long time....one year out of the Europa wouldn't be the end of the world. As I've said elsewhere today, it's not done Spurs and City any harm this season has it?
  17. Yeah, that and Villa's late goal on Sunday have made it look far less likely....got to keep winning to keep the pressure on though. If we don't make it the mindset has to be to look at how Spurs and City have done this year after missing out on Europe and to try and match (or beat) that in 10/11.
  18. Close to being a done deal according to this... http://www.footylatest.com/everton-close-to-wrapping-up-deal-for-striker/13830
  19. Look here. 1956-62 is the prime example but also (among others) '86-'89. It's a plain blue shirt with the variation of a V neck....totally traditional (unlike the fancy schmancy Umbro ones of recent years).
  20. Came on after eighty-six minutes against Sunderland at Goodison in 2008. Second shortest Everton career after Anderson de Silva (v Charlton)? Coincidentally I was at both games .
  21. We've got a history with a V neck, many times over the years. That one looks to be based on 1982's... http://www.kitbag.com/stores/kitbag_4_5/football/product_maxzoom.aspx?intPID=39670&maximage=prd_maxzoom_efc-39670.jpg I'd be delighted if it were genuine .
  22. MikeO

    Fulham (home)

So given that Fulham have absolutely nothing to play for and have to spend five days hitch-hiking to Hamburg and back this week we should win this comfortably shouldn't we ? 1-0. Anichebe 93rd minute. Easy .
  23. So would I. Any indication if it's genuine ?
  24. For me it's more that he's an arrogant little shite. He was OK until last year, quite a nice lad but he's disappeared up his own arse since he got successful.
