    Who

Contenders... Russ Swift Pros: If there are two Stigs, then Russ Swift must be one of them. No-one is better equipped to pull off the Stig’s dangerous tricks than this holder of multiple stunt driving records. We put the question to him last week and his response was: “No comment. What we... (laughs) what Top Gear like about the Stig is the fact that nobody knows who it is. It is not one person.” Cons: He spends a lot of time out of the country making international motor show appearances. But that hasn’t stopped him working for Top Gear in the past – he taught three grannies how to do doughnuts… William Hill odds: 2/1 Damon Hill Pros: Russ Swift said last week, “A lot of people think the Stig is Damon Hill.” Indeed only two weeks ago a fan asked Hill whether he was the Stig at the Autosport International show. Hill cryptically replied: "I am not the Stig. But then, only the true Messiah denies his divinity." Cons: Devious word-play aside, Hill is surely too busy to be the Stig. As President of the British Racing Drivers Club, Hill is preoccupied with a struggle against F1 tycoon Bernie Ecclestone to keep the British Grand Prix on the F1 calendar. Plus he runs a supercar rental business. But none of that has stopped him being one of the most popular picks as the real Stig. William Hill odds: 4/1 Ben Collins Pros: The first Stig was a relatively little-known racing driver so the current Stig probably is as well. Ben Collins is one of those talented and under-rated racers and a particularly gifted wet-weather driver. His appearance on Top Gear as part of a parachuting stunt led to feverish speculation on the Internet that Collins is the real Stig. Cons: At 1.87m in height (over six feet) he could be too tall for the Stig’s racing suit. William Hill odds: 8/1 Tiff Needell Pros: Like ex-Stig Perry McCarthy, Tiff Needell is a former racing driver. He’s also a long-term member of the Top Gear stable - he presented on the original show in the ‘80s and ‘90s. And he appears alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond at the live MPH shows. Cons: However, the Stig has also appeared at MPH at the same time as Needell. So they can’t be the same person – unless there really is more than one Stig… William Hill odds: 14/1 Ellen MacArthur Pros: The fastest celebrity to lap the Top Gear track in the old Suzuki Liana. Cons: Although MacArthur clearly lacks nothing in driving skills or mental fortitude, her physical stature (female, short) and the Stig’s (male, tall) don’t match up. Plus, given the enormous amount of time she spent circumnavigating the globe in a dolled-up dinghy, it’s doubtful that she could have met the filming commitments. William Hill odds: 100/1 Jeremy Clarkson Pros: It would be the ultimate conspiracy theory if the Stig were, in fact, Top Gear talisman Jeremy Clarkson. Cons: Clarkson may be a speedophile par excellence, but his driving skills are more attuned to wild, tyre-smoking burnouts than the strict discipline of performance driving. William Hill odds: 10/1 (10,000/1 surely) <_< . ...from an Autotrader article earlier this year.

  4. Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is desperate to keep Liverpool at bay as they move in on hugely talented teen midfielder Michael Johnson (The People). Rafa Benitez enquired about the 19-year-old in the summer but plans are afoot for a £12m bid either in January or more likely next summer to bring in the former Everton schoolboy. Have we messed up again?
  5. Keep death off the roads, drive on the pavement.
  6. I have no idea what you're talking about Zed mate, I was merely following up my extensive research into which teams in Europe, other than us and Metalist, are on a run of hot form. Any inferred reference to any game at any stage in the future is pure speculation. May the best team win, honi soit qui mal y pense, vive la France et bon nuit mes amies !
  7. I see Marseilles are on a bit of a run in the French league at the mo. Unbeaten in six including a win at Lyon, only the ninth home defeat for the perenniel champions in seven years. Just thought I'd mention it....no particular reason .
  8. Still fourth, but way clear of the rest of the league and only four points off the top (Dnipro).
  9. Just had a look to see how they're going and since they played at Goodison they've played eleven domestic games, won nine of them, drawn one and the only loss was going out of their cup on penalties. Nearly as impressive as us .
  10. And I'm not going to be the saddo who goes all the way through it to find out who messed up . PS You absolutely sure your abacus is functioning correctly Bill ? 999,829
  11. Is this the way to Amarillo?
  12. Go back to bed, you're a sick man!!
  13. Double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso will return to the Renault team next season. Renault say the 26-year-old Spaniard, who left McLaren last month after a tempestuous season, has signed a two-year deal. Renault's former test driver, Brazilian Nelson Piquet Jr, has been promoted to the race team as Alonso's team-mate. Renault would not confirm the value of the contract, although there are reports Alonso will earn £25.2m. Alonso is believed to have negotiated number one status with Renault. Finn Heikki Kovalainen, who had an impressive rookie season with Renault in 2007, is expected to move to either McLaren, where he would partner Lewis Hamilton, or Toyota. Kovalainen, who is managed by team boss Flavio Briatore, was considered by the team to be good enough to challenge Alonso, and therefore keeping him was not in the interests of a harmonious team. Alonso has dropped a lot in my estimation...can't deal with competition, proved it last season. Pansy .
  14. You forgot the number Yorkie.... 999,839. I was running a franchise working for LYNX Couriers, multi-drop deliveries working from 6.00am loading the van and getting home at about 6.30pm. Literally didn't have the strength to stand up in the shower in the morning but had no choice but to dose myself up and do it. Never forget that week as long as I live . 999,838

    West Ham Cup

I think not....extra time and penalties I believe.....in fact I'm sure (unless the rules have been changed which is unlikely) because Josh's first game was at Bristol City in 2004 when we went through on pens. Steve Watson missed the first one but TC, Stubbs, Campbell and Carsley scored (Leroy Lita and Danny Coles missed for City fortunately....Teflon was in goal so all they needed to do was get it on target ).
  16. Would that be man-flu or the genuine article Aaron? Only had the real version once, self employed at the time so had to work through it....thought I was going to die! 999,841
  17. Yup, it'll be his third one so he should be OK. I fell out of my bunk in the pop top roof of our VW camper when I was little, didn't even wake up....fucking bruised in the morning though . 999,842
  18. Hmmmm....quoting song lyrics is not to be advised in my experience....bad sign .
  19. Have a new flat packed bed for Joshua arriving on Wednesday (five boxes on a pallet apparently). I may be unavailable for a few days . 999,846
  20. ....'fraid so. Tough one but try and keep your dignity intact, I failed miserably (but it was twenty-eight years ago so I got over it ).
  21. Can't thik of anything Louis....that's a hell of an impressive piece of work!
  22. ..and me. The programme's not what it used to be ( ) but I still watch it. Glad (surprised also) Calzaghe won.
  23. Because it's obviously meant in a derogatory way. There's no need to mention it at all, it's not relevant.

    Fulham. ( Home )

Nice to get the move up the table finally but it was always going to happen if we kept the run going. On schedule for 64 points now which will certainly be enough for top six.
