  1. Yeeeeeeeeesssssssssss!!!!!!!
  2. Thanks for that...best quality I've seen for ages (if not ever) on Sopcast!
  3. Same team as Wednesday, only change is Faddy on the bench in place of Vic.

    West Ham Cup

Dirty bastards we are! Nine fouls on Wednesday , that's one every ten minutes! Disgrace. The gentle West Ham flowers only gave away twenty-one...poor lambs, must be more gentle with them tomorrow . Best disciplinary record in the Premier League I believe in fact (fewest cards anyway). Fuck off Curbishly, idiot.
  5. Fabio Capello has been confirmed as the new England manager after the details of his contract were finalised with the Football Association. The Italian signed a four-and-a-half year deal - reportedly worth £6m a year, with an opt out after 2010. Capello's backroom staff will consist of Franco Baldini, Italo Galbiati, Franco Tancredi and Massimo Neri. Capello will discuss with Trevor Brooking how to integrate an English presence into the coaching set-up.
  6. Same rules apply to all, some fit the criteria, some don't. Like some people pass an exam, some fail....doesn't mean there are two different passmarks. I'm just saying it's wrong to suggest otherwise and it'd be wrong (imo) to discriminate purely based on financial contribution. Perfectly valid viewpoint though Craccer...sorry about the "tabloid" comment, you never struck me as a S*n reader I have to say .
  7. Of course not, stop believing what you read in the tabloids. It's wrong because it's wrong, not because he's a footballer or because of how much he's paid in taxes or because he owns his house or that he does voluntary work. Are we suggesting here one law for the rich and talented and another for the rest? Be disgraceful if he's deported but it happens all the time to people in his situation and that's equally disgraceful, just that nobody notices or cares.
  8. Lineker is by no stretch of the imagination an Everton legend, an English legend who spent one very productive season with us(in terms of goals but not trophies), certainly. Maybe a Spurs legend possibly, but not Everton. Mike Trebilcock played a pivotal part in one of the most notable games in our history and will always be remembered for that, but not a legend. Andy Gray is a bit of a more grey area ( ). One of the catalysts for the most glorious period in our history, but I think he'll always be remembered as part of a legendary team rather than a legend in his own right. Yakubu? Course he could....in time..but then a lot of people though BT could as well .
  9. [/irony] I think we'll keep a clean sheet this time...2-0. Wham haven't scored many goals and are struggling with injuries up front... "West Ham face being down to just one fit striker for Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash with Everton after Carlton Cole aggravated a long-standing hip problem. The Upton Park injury crisis deepened when Cole was forced off in the second half of last night's Carling Cup quarter-final defeat to the Toffees. The Hammers are already down to the bare bones. With Craig Bellamy and Bobby Zamora on the long-term injury list, manager Alan Curbishley had no forwards available to even include on the bench last night. Dean Ashton is still chasing full-match fitness but started his first game since October in the 2-1 defeat and may have to lead the line on his own this weekend."
  10. Won in the end, was touch and go for a bit....went ahead early but conceded a couple of soft goals through lack of concentration. Gave myself a stern talking to during the break and pulled it round in the second half; at the end of the day it was a game of two halves but a very satisfying result . 999,820
  11. Didn't the Smiths do a song called that ? I'm impressed Mark at your conscientiousness with your assignments and your refusal to bow to peer pressure .
  12. Was doing the same thing last night, goal of the season for me.
  13. :grrr: That is all. 999,822
  14. Exquisite post GY, reminds me of Henry V before Agincourt or Churchill at his inspirational best ! With you all the way, have another drink !

    West Ham Cup

Agreed....but how many managers in that situation (one goal up, away from home, 2/3 mins to go in a quarter final) would have wasted as much time as possible doing the three subs, probably one at a time. DM had the confidence in his players to leave it as it was .

Good point....getting over-excited ! (highlights on Everton TV from midnight)

    West Ham Cup

Now that is a good feeling!!! Eleven and counting, ninety minutes from Wembley. Same again for number twelve Saturday now, this is getting special!

    West Ham Cup

57% posession and five shots on target (to one), three corners to none. Used to not be bothered in the eighties when we went a goal down because I knew we were always capable of coming back....I'm getting a little hint of that feeling back. I'm confident .

    West Ham Cup

"Everton make just one change for the Carling Cup clash at West Ham. Phil Jagielka comes in for the injured Leighton Baines, with Joleon Lescott switching to left back. That means hat trick hero Yakubu is retained up front as he looks to continue his rich vein of goalscoring form. The Yak will be supported by Tim Cahill, with Leon Osman, Steven Pienaar, Mikel Arteta and Lee Carsley in midfield. Lescott and Jagielka are joined at the back by Joseph Yobo and Phil Neville. Andrew Johnson is available on the bench, with other options Thomas Gravesen, Tony Hibbert, Victor Anichebe and sub keeper Stefan Wessels. "
  20. I'm there in Feb as well Storm, but as I'll be with wife plus Josh (11) visiting our newborn nephew any will have to wait for the next visit (although the wife is quite happy to partake in a bit of :cigar:   :arrowhead: :lmaosmiley: given the opportunity so we may get a small window if her brother will "baby" sit one night :guitar: . I don't think DM will rest too many players though, will want to get through the group unbeaten, specially if we're still on the run.
  21. It's a lot to pay for a dead game, having said that depends on how much money you have. Be a great experience though, you can get stoned in Amsterdam any time (though not in the company of so many Evertonians I guess) .
  22. How the fuck do you get this stuff Louis? Fascinating. What I find most shocking, is that the Rt Hon gentleman seems, to have, no idea at all, of how, and where, to, us a, comma (and neither does his secretary).
  23. Superstition is a terrible thing Mark....as if I have any power.....then again... I firmly believe Liverpool will go on to win this game very comfortably and Marseille have not a chance in hell of a comeback .

    Who

Contenders... Russ Swift Pros: If there are two Stigs, then Russ Swift must be one of them. No-one is better equipped to pull off the Stig’s dangerous tricks than this holder of multiple stunt driving records. We put the question to him last week and his response was: “No comment. What we... (laughs) what Top Gear like about the Stig is the fact that nobody knows who it is. It is not one person.” Cons: He spends a lot of time out of the country making international motor show appearances. But that hasn’t stopped him working for Top Gear in the past – he taught three grannies how to do doughnuts… William Hill odds: 2/1 Damon Hill Pros: Russ Swift said last week, “A lot of people think the Stig is Damon Hill.” Indeed only two weeks ago a fan asked Hill whether he was the Stig at the Autosport International show. Hill cryptically replied: "I am not the Stig. But then, only the true Messiah denies his divinity." Cons: Devious word-play aside, Hill is surely too busy to be the Stig. As President of the British Racing Drivers Club, Hill is preoccupied with a struggle against F1 tycoon Bernie Ecclestone to keep the British Grand Prix on the F1 calendar. Plus he runs a supercar rental business. But none of that has stopped him being one of the most popular picks as the real Stig. William Hill odds: 4/1 Ben Collins Pros: The first Stig was a relatively little-known racing driver so the current Stig probably is as well. Ben Collins is one of those talented and under-rated racers and a particularly gifted wet-weather driver. His appearance on Top Gear as part of a parachuting stunt led to feverish speculation on the Internet that Collins is the real Stig. Cons: At 1.87m in height (over six feet) he could be too tall for the Stig’s racing suit. William Hill odds: 8/1 Tiff Needell Pros: Like ex-Stig Perry McCarthy, Tiff Needell is a former racing driver. He’s also a long-term member of the Top Gear stable - he presented on the original show in the ‘80s and ‘90s. And he appears alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond at the live MPH shows. Cons: However, the Stig has also appeared at MPH at the same time as Needell. So they can’t be the same person – unless there really is more than one Stig… William Hill odds: 14/1 Ellen MacArthur Pros: The fastest celebrity to lap the Top Gear track in the old Suzuki Liana. Cons: Although MacArthur clearly lacks nothing in driving skills or mental fortitude, her physical stature (female, short) and the Stig’s (male, tall) don’t match up. Plus, given the enormous amount of time she spent circumnavigating the globe in a dolled-up dinghy, it’s doubtful that she could have met the filming commitments. William Hill odds: 100/1 Jeremy Clarkson Pros: It would be the ultimate conspiracy theory if the Stig were, in fact, Top Gear talisman Jeremy Clarkson. Cons: Clarkson may be a speedophile par excellence, but his driving skills are more attuned to wild, tyre-smoking burnouts than the strict discipline of performance driving. William Hill odds: 10/1 (10,000/1 surely) <_< . ...from an Autotrader article earlier this year.
