  1. Not really...that's why I said "if." Bolton got lucky though, deserved nothing. 10,000 attendance in Europe after beating ManU...pitiful "support" (half of them had gone home by the time they equalized as well ).
  2. You think you've got problems....my first top flight match was Chelsea v L*v*r*o*l in about 1969, finished 2-1 to the dark side and my brother wore his (Guildford City) red and white scarf . Can't remember my first Everton game (I'm ashamed to say) but I've got a feeling it was at QPR.
  3. They've got it down as... http://www.evertonfc.com/stats/?mode=fixtu...fixture_id=3979 Confirmed elsewhere.. Sat Oct 8 1988 Div 1 H Southampton W 4 - 1 25,356 Cottee T 2 Watson D Steven T Mind playing tricks Fish? Or was it Newcastle on TC (the first's) début?
  4. Why is it whenever I dream that I'm playing for Everton (like last night) I'm complete shite . I know it's true to how it would be in real life but these are my dreams ffs so can't my brain give me a break and let me score the winner in a derby just once ! Delayed a pass up last night because Lee Carsley was offside and he had a go at me because he said it was "only inches" (he was definitely off <_< ). Fortunately I wasn't the worst player on the pitch because we had a girl playing for us and she was truly awful . Alalyse that! .
  5. That's a great shame. Don't know the facts but I'd have thought SA, like many (probably most) countries in the world has places where you don't go. I suspect that this sort of murder is pretty rare....hope so anyway. The World Cup in Africa is overdue and I hope it's a great success..
  6. Keeps us top of the table, good enough for me. Two things I can't believe tonight... The truly pathetic crowd at Bolton and... Spurs 2-0 down at home to Aalborg at half time....extreme danger of going out if they lose.
  7. According to the BBC Nuremburg are 1-0 up at half time . Edit...You're watching SPK v Lev . It's a replay of the game from 8th November... Spartak Moscow 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen
  8. Good chance, if not of getting a result in Milan then of Benfica holding or beating Shakhtar in the Ukraine, they won't want to finish fourth and miss out on the UEFA. Alternatively you could go down the Austria/West Germany 1982 route and play out a draw at a stroll. Fortunately for the game that won't happen but it may peter out a bit in the second half if you're both holding position. Hope you do it anyway!
  9. Nice to see Stubbsy took over the reserves last night..(Link)...be nice to see him in a coaching role at the club when he retires from playing. Top man and a top Blue!
  10. Article talking about McLeish leaving Scotland for Brum on the BBC site... At St Andrews, McLeish will no doubt be earning anything up to four times the amount he was paid by the Scottish Football Association. But money cannot be the main motivation for an already wealthy man. It was the chance to pit his wits against his old mentor Sir Alex, Rafa, Arsene, Moyes and the rest that has seen Big Eck pack his bags for the English Premier League. ...moving up in the world Davey!
  11. Would you like a blow-job from Angelina Jolie with that Steve ?
  12. Playing for the reserves again tonight, as is JV....LINK
  13. Substituting "acquire" for "buy" in my post changes nothing imo. There you go with your nitpicking journalistic tendencies again Bill . In the old fashioned TT tradition we shall have to agree to differ.....but you're still wrong :jerry: .
  14. So you buy an international player to replace Tomáš Rosický and he does well for you....doesn't flop at all, turns out to be the player you expected. "I know," thinks Doll "I'll loan him out and then sell him, that's a good idea!" Makes a lot of sense. Also (from AFP)... "Slowly but surely, South African midfielder Steven Pienaar is recapturing the form that made him one of the most sought-after players in Europe in his early twenties. The 25-year-old shone brightly in the Ajax side which won the domestic title in 2004, and reached the second round of the UEFA Champions League in 2005/06. But he failed to show his true talent during a mixed 2006/07 season with German club Borussia Dortmund." And my apologies for being backward <_< .
  15. As I said I knew nothing at all about Pienaar's time at Dortmund. Think judging him on a season and a half is fair isn't it? Presumably Borussia gave him a medical before they signed him. On paper and given their willingness to get rid he can surely only be regarded as a flop, whatever went before.
  16. Signed for Borussia Dortmund on a three-year contract from Ajax in Jan 2006. Seen as a replacement Tomáš Rosický...played twenty-five games and scored none. If he was a success they why did they offload him to us? Have no idea how well he played for them but the bare facts suggest he didn't set the place alight.
  17. There's a bloke in Singapore who's mother works in my bank (I've got the occasional programme for her to send out to him). About four thousand miles away but it's the best I can come up with . Welcome.
  18. No....possibly because it's on a Wednesday and they're showing Spurs on Thurs. The AZ game is on Five though.
  19. Good point, I'd forgotten about that... "I know the real story. I know what has gone on and I know what the referee's thoughts were because of his comments to me. If the FA want to know the real comments then they need to speak to me" Interesting.
  20. Everton manager David Moyes has been hit with an FA charge. The charge relates to comments he made about referee Mark Clattenberg following the controversial Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on October 20th. The Blues boss has been charged with two breaches of FA Rule E3 in respect of comments he made immediately following the game and also comments he made in the press conference the following week. The FA charge states that ‘It is alleged that the comments made referring to referee Mark Clattenberg on each respective occasion amount to improper conduct as they call into question Mr Clattenberg's integrity and/or imply that Mr Clattenberg was motivated by biased.' Everton lost the game against Liverpool but the main talking points after the match centred on the dismissal of Tony Hibbert and the late penalty appeal that the Blues had turned down. Moyes has a couple of weeks to consider his response. Why the delay?
  21. Been said before, he may not be a great goalscorer but he's a scorer of great (and very important) goals....ask any Scotsman! He made sure we got into Europe with the "Goal of the season" in the last minute against Charlton and kept us in Europe with the equalizer in Kharkiv. I wouldn't want to sell a player with that capability. Is it fair on him? His decision I guess, if he asked to leave then maybe at the right price but if he wants to stay and be part of the bright blue future then I'd be delighted.
  22. OK I suppose Pat but it can't really compare to the luxury I'll be experiencing HERE for a couple of nights over the hols . Sorry if posting this makes you too jealous but we can't all live the high life .
  23. "An impoverished surfer has drawn up a new theory of the universe, seen by some as the Holy Grail of physics, which has received rave reviews from scientists." This is it....(here is a LINK if you want to read more about it). Just a thought....if God exists he must have a hell of a spirograph ! And a piece of advice....if you live in Sudan don't name your teddy Mohammed.
  24. Maybe he was doing six in Roman numerals (VI) and got his fingers mixed up .
