  1. Baines looks like he is set to sign a new contract and United know this by the looks of it as they are going for Shaw and the Japan LB who plays for Inter Milan. http://soccerlens.com/manchester-united-e14m-left-back-offered-baines-coentrao/124899/ Good news, good news
  2. I'm not normally the pessimistic type but I can see this one being a draw. West Brom are a hard, physical side and can defend really well at times. I hope I am wrong.
  3. I agree, him and Shane Long will be there main strike force. Probably playing a 4-4-2 which Jelavic likes. Hope he does start scoring and finding his form again.....Just hope it isn't against Everton.
  4. The only thing I do agree with is that he gives the ball away a lot. Lukaku touch is terrible and 9/10 he will give the ball away as his touch lets him down. Saying that he is better than Welbeck....Are you telling me if he had a choice he wouldn't swap Lukaku for Welbeck! Yeah 9 in 53 shots....least he is getting his shot away. Lukaku is strong, quick and is a good finisher but his touch is terrible. The only thing I can fault him on...
  5. http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/premier-league-news/38373-everton-toffees-eye-serie-a-centre-back.php#.UtVW-jWDRUU Sport direct news - I know, aren't exactly the most reliable source going. They more seem to make up rumors more than anything. 4 goals and 1 assist but lie in 15th place.....
  6. There are some reports going around that Shane Long could join Everton. Trying to find the links but can't find it so far except for the one on bluekipper. http://www.bluekipper.com/players/something_fishy/7010--.html? Something fishy says it all for me ;-). If I had a choice I would pick Long over Jones any day of the week. Long would cost a bit more but I think he would be good at Everton and would get the delivery needed to score.
  7. I don't mind Jones. I think he is a decent player on his day. He reminds me of Saha a bit. (Saha had a lot more ability but was lazy at times). If we got him on a free or cheap then why not. Lukaku isn't here next season so Jones is a good shout...
  8. Obviously Martinez knows what he is doing when selling Jelavic but I am sad to see him leave. I think if he was given more time then he might of reached his potential again. Against QPR he showed us the old Jelavic (I'm not saying if he played against Norwich he would have scored) but he showed everyone there is still something in him. For some reason he has lost his confidence and can't get it back. I don't think it helps when Moyes decided to keep making him run for the ball on the wings. Jelavic is a striker who is in the right place, right time. A bit like Darren Bent in his prime. Just wished he had one more game in an Everton shirt.
  9. Gutted to see him go, I think he should have started against Norwich. Gave him a few more chances then try and sell him. good luck to him hopefully he doesn't score against us.
  10. Moyes has a weak team in United. The players they have aren't great, they are average at the best of times and he has got the exact same side as Fergie + Fellaini. Yes, Moyes did leave a good Everton squad but Martinez has made it into a great squad. This is his Everton side lets not undermine Martinez saying, he got Barry, McCarthy and Lukaku in. All team regulars who weren't playing last season for Everton.
  11. It is going to be a tough test. If Norwich defend anything like Stoke did then we will only be getting a point. I want to see Jelavic getting a start. He showed everyone that he has still got it and this was against decent opponents. (QPR will get promoted). If he can do the same against Norwich then fair play. I also wouldn't drop Pienaar for Oviedo. Although I do like Oviedo I think we need Pienaar and Baines playing together. Tough test but fingers crossed 3 points.
  12. I would like to see Jelavic stay at Everton. I think he will find his feet again but just needs time. He scored two at QPR and showed everyone that the old Jela is still in there......somewhere. If I was Martinez I would be seriously considering starting Jela instead of Lukaku against Norwich. It would be a win win, if he scored great gives Lukaku competition. Give him an hour against Norwich see what he can do. I am not giving up on the lad yet he still has it in him somewhere.
  13. Just looked at a Dundee united forum eastfootball.co.uk and a person commented and went "1.5 million with loan deal and 20% sell on clause. Sick of English club ripping us off!!" Made me laugh a little....I was having a look to see what people thought of him.
  14. Same here, I don't think he is as good as Barry and McCarthy. We will have to see how he plays if he does go to a premier league club...
  15. Stones seems like a well rounded lad. When I heard him talk after the QPR game he seemed confident, thankful and passionate. I reckon he will be likes Jagielka. A future captain for Everton
  16. I agree, people think it is all him and are asking for his head. There are backroom staff as well, do you honestly think Moyes could walk into a job and get full control over who he wants, how much we should be paying etc. No he might say his targets Baines, Fellaini etc but it is up to his staff to come up with an offer. I don't think he would have bidded 8 million for Baines. You wonder why they couldn't sign Fabregas or anything.....because they weren't offering enough. If they bidded 35-40 million Barca would have accepted it. Moyes was a great manager for Everton and like I said thank him for what he has done at the club. All of the players who are at the club are down to Moyes and the scouts (who have both gone to United).
  17. Moyes wouldn't be able to get assistant manager anymore. He would be arguing saying we have to defend this one goal lead and Martinez would be shouting attack ;-). Seriously though, Moyes did an exceptional job at Everton. Transformed the team into what it is today, competing for top 4. Also at United he needs to be given time....I do believe in a couple of years United will have the best defence in the league. This is a different time for Everton and one that I am enjoying. This is an Everton who isn't afraid of anyone and that is down to Martinez. We don't go into games with our head down thinking we need to defend, defend, defend. Instead we are going to the top teams and competing with them. Outplayed Arsenal at the Emirates. Which team has done that in the last couple of years. That is the difference with Everton with Martinez and Moyes. With Martinez we have all started believing again!
  18. Where ever he ends up then good luck to him. He has never said anything bad about the club (what I can remember anyway). He is obviously upset that he doesn't play often but a true professional who keeps his head down and gets on with it.
  19. I have never seen him play so can't really comment. I just hope if we do get him that he doesn't think he is bigger than the club...
  20. A lot of people on here are saying surely better than Naismith.... What is wrong with Naismith!? If you want a player who will give 110% every game and work his socks off then he is your man. If you want a player who gets fustrated and who doesn't give his all the whole game then McGready is your man. When we are leading against a team I want Naismith to come on, good tackler, runs after the ball and tracks back. What else do you want from a man!? I dont think he was ever bought to be a striker who could score 15 goals. Moyes kept playing him on the wing and although he does get tackled a bit he is a work horse who gives his all and I admire that.
  21. Colback isn't sh1t just I don't think it is a player who can improve our team. I know we would never attract players like Reus, Costa, Mata etc but I do think we should have better ambitions for players than Colback. Again Colback is a good player but I don't think we need him, if we got him on a low fee and he was a squad rotation player then yeah sounds good but I don't see him getting in front of McCarthy, Barry or even Gibbo when he is back and fit. If his wages are low and we get him on the cheap then makes sense but I do think it is a player who won't be walking into our first team. He will end up going to Crystal Palace or West Ham, West Brom or somewhere like that.
  22. People slurping when drinking is a pet hate of mine! It goes right through me, nearly told me director to stop it but had to bite my tongue haha. Also the end bit of the song "Talk Dirty" with the girl at the end. That really does irritate me every time it comes on the radio I have to change it before it gets to that bit!!
  23. That is exactly the same attitude we had when Moyes was manager. Thinking it was an easy game and there for the taking and then end up losing or drawing. If we go in like that against QPR then we will be in for a surprise. We have to be at our best to beat them. They are an attacking side under HR and will play quick attacking football and they know that they can exploit us when our defence isn't at its best with the likes of Jags and Distin both out. (I do believe in Stones and Alcaraz but we are missing Jags and Distin at the moment). It will be a tough game but if we play our full strength squad then we can do it. COYB
