  1. Unfortunately Martinez got his tactics wrong last night. The same tactics worked against Man United and Arsenal but with player like Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge who have pace then we didn't stand a chance with Alcaraz and Jags. Alcaraz is an okay CB but he has no pace. Jags is a quality CB but again no pace. You could tell we were missing Coleman and Distin. The two players who do track back and who have pace. We played a high line and that was our downfall (like I say we did the same against United and Arsenal and it worked). 1st goal - Couldn't do anything about it, Gerrard got past Barry a bit to easily but a good goal overall. (Unfortunate of Barry to go into Lukaku as well). 2nd goal - should have closed down Coutinho quicker so he couldn't get the pass in but again the high line cost up with Sturridge managing to get one on one. 3rd goal - A bit unfortunate, Toure just hoofing the ball and it going straight to Sturridge. Great goal by Sturridge but again a high line. 4th goal - Mistake by Jags and Suarez took advantage of it. Simple as that. We did miss the presence of Lukaku in the box. We needed someone big in the box when the corners were coming in. Anyway it was a minor blip in our season but lets bounce back with a win against Villa! COYB!
  2. I got Junior on loan at Fleetwood town in league 2 on football manager and he was still only able to warm the bench...
  3. Yeah, let us be continued to be linked with Oliver Torres not James McCarthur
  4. No truth in the rumor. As if Southampton would sell him to a rival.
  5. The only thing I can see is http://stdomingos.com/2014/01/23/everton-move-for-mcarthur/?
  6. Please no! I am never against signing players from your former club but really 4 players! Show some more ambition Martinez...Show us the ambition that got Lukaku, Barry. I don't even like this rumour one bit....At first I thought someone spelt James McCarthy name wrong ;-).
  7. Who would you drop for Torres? Barkley....They both play in the same position....
  8. The Mata deal is just to brighten up spirits. Look at what Ozil did to Arsenal. Possible title contenders? Only difference being is that Arsenal had a good squad to begin with Cazorla, Ramsey, Arteta, Walcott the list can go on.....also a better defense. The best in the premiership. What does United have the only two good players in that midfield are Carrick and Januzaj (needs more time though). Young is a good player but he isn't a touch as what he was a couple of seasons ago. Nani, get him sold. The other thing that United don't have is a good defense. Only two players in that defense who I would say was worth keeping is Jones and maybe Rafael. Jones is going to be a good player in years to come but needs to settle in a CB position not play around like he is at the moment. Rafael has a lot to learn but is a good defender. Ferdinand should retire. Vidic needs to regain his form quick!
  9. Not good. Hopefully the knee injury isn't to serious but he will want to play for Monaco as he could break into the first team. All depends how long Falcao is out. Wonder if we will go for that Belgian player now.
  10. I reckon he would cost in the region 8-12 million.
  11. Did the parents say that though or is it paper talk. Only time will tell....We seem to be getting some strikers in... All we need now is to get a defender who can step in as Jags and Distin have had injuries which they could tweak at any time...

  13. Yeah it was a dive, so was Suarez against Villa on Saturday. Everybody is coming out saying it was a penalty. I have watched it time and time again and can't see any contact just Suarez thought there would be by the looks of it. It is the same situation as Baines he thought there would be contact there wasn't and went down far to easy. Mirallas also won us a free kick on the edge of the area in the second half which to me wasn't a free kick. He went straight into their defender and he wasn't obstructing him he just jumped into him. The game on a full - what a disappointment. Unfortunately Martinez got his tactics wrong on this game but that is understandable. You are playing against a team with a new manager and you won't know how they play. Yes you can watch the previous games he has managed but they were in Spain. Totally different to manage in Spain that the EPL. I noticed that Martinez must have said to the team to stand off opponents and let them play their game and trust your defenders. Everytime West Brom had it we stood back and let them pick out a pass, get a cross in. Also there was no urgency in Evertons play either, trying to pass the ball around slowly but couldn't do it as every time we did have the ball WBA were over us like a rash and didn't give us any time to play our game. The Everton I watched last night was one under Moyes era not Martinez. Distin and Jags hoofing the ball up field to try and get it to Lukaku. Where have we seen that before....Fellaini... WBA will feel hard done by, they were the better team the whole game. We scored against the run of play in the first half. Yes we had a couple of chances, Oviedo, Mirallas near post and McCarthy half volley but we didn't look like scoring when going forward. The difference when WBA went forward they looked like they could play. I think Anelka played a blinder with his passing and his presence in the team. Saying that Pepe Mel's substitution at half time. Putting Anichebe changed the game. His strength in the box. He would back into Jags and Distin hold the ball up and pass it on the wing. Something Lukaku couldn't do all night as he had no space. Overall disappointing performance and lucky to finish with a draw.
  14. No he wouldn't.... I would rather have Barry playing the Fellaini and McCarthy is our most consistent player. Fellaini when he was at Everton he wasn't consistent enough. Some games he could be unplayable.....other times it looked like he couldn't play football.... Barry and McCarthy are both more consistent I think anyway.
  15. Demba Ba failed his medical at Stoke because of a knee injury. Went to West Ham and did wonders. If I was Everton I would take a gamble. If it doesn't work out then fair enough. If he came to Everton he wouldn't be starting anyway. Lukaku would do the first couple of games, give him a rest and give the big man a chance to grab a goal...
  16. Antony Martial - Great striker who knows where the net is. In a couple of years will be a decent buy for any team. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyznmGLO8HE Callum Chambers for Southampton - I reckon in a couple of years will be as good as Coleman. Bakkali - PSV - Young Belgian footballer. Quick on the ball, good with his feet. If we could afford him I would want him at Everton. He would cost a bit though.
  17. Don't see why everyone has a problem with Jones. He is a good player. If we got him for 1 million then why not. He would probably get in front of Kone.
  18. I wouldn't go for Schneiderlin. Michael Essien hasn't really been playing a lot for Chelsea and if we could get him on loan then I would take it. Plus his agent has said he will be leaving soon. If I had a choice I would pick Everton over AC Milan. 11th place and look like doing nothing this year. Or a team who are competing for champions league place...
  19. Do you think Green will ever be get into the Everton team? He seems to have talent.
  20. Not a chance would we ever get him. A future England international we would have to pay at least 20million for him. When he is probably only worth 10-15 million. Probably in the same price bracket as McCarthy in my opinion. Say in the unlikely case we do get him, who would you drop for Lallana?
  21. I remember everyone saying this when Jelavic came to Everton as well. Saying the Scottish league is slower than the EPL. (I think I was one of them to say it) and he proved everyone wrong in the second half of the season. If Kenwyne Jones could make a similar impact then why not. I am not saying he would score 11 goals like Jelavic or even start in front of Lukaku. To me though he could be the difference of getting into Europe. Don't get me wrong Jones touch is terrible, he is a bad passer on the ball and 9/10 is selfish. (Rather go for goal than squaring it in the box). What he does have though is a physical presence like Lukaku. Jones is a player who gets in the right place at the right time. Reminds me of Berba, Carrol, Bent, Ba and even Sturridge. Stoke have good players but in terms of delivery I think that Everton is better. With the likes of Mirallas, Pienaar, Baines and Coleman giving the deliveries it adds variety. I think a player like Jones would thrive at Everton.
  22. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/360796/Everton-defender-Sylvain-Distin-returns-to-full-training-ahead-of-West-Brom-clash Hope he is back for the WBA game. I do like Stones in defense but we are missing Distin and Jags partnership.
  23. http://talksport.com/football/roma-ready-launch-another-bid-wantaway-everton-defender-14011675899? I think he would rather go to Roma than another English club. Roma are second in the league at the moment and it might be a better option as they could get champions league football. It is only the first two places in series A isnt it?
