It's a business. Putting money into the club is an investment, and any owners will expect at least a 10 percent return. The principal different I see with Everton is that the CEO and marketing team are totally inept. So much more could be done to generate cash from the team's proud history.

Nope. We should be demolishing them, just as we did United last year. You don't make it to the top except by believing you deserve to be there and can outplay every team in the league.

That's the key point. Of course, no one wants to lose exciting games about teams near the bottom, and no one has suggested that. But when playing City this weekend, I say go for it. It's why, incidentally, the league changed years ago from 2 points for a win to 3 points, because too many teams simply played for a point and were making football as exciting as watching grass grow. Now, teams that go for it and win every other game secure more points than teams that park the bus every week for a single point.

That's a very sweeping statement. It's not usually a good idea to tar everyone with the same brush, and I too would hope he's wrong.
