  1. What it's pointing out is that the top-money clubs are not that good. We already thrashed Chelsea, and I see no reason why we won't beat Liverpool and United. Arsenal can be tricky, but they were shown up again today. Third is quite realistic.
  2. Just read that myself and was about to post. What's this all about, I wonder?
  3. I thought it was only atheists who believed in superstitions. Not me - unless we're in 13th place when playing the black cats.
  4. I'm beginning to think this would be a good game to bring Leandro on after an hour. No doubt it's going to be a very attacking game, and we'd benefit from a poacher. Baptism of fire? Yes. But I'm sure it would pay off. He would relish those crosses from Deulofeu.
  5. Congratulations to doc_bump and efc1111, joint winners for this game. doc_bump is also champion for the month of September. Blue250 retains his lead for the season and for points per prediction. I might also point out that my genuine predictions for September were on a par with Matt's deliberately negative predictions.
  6. What I liked most about the article was this: "As his team-mates celebrated [Lukaku's first goal], Deulofeu was busy getting instructions from Martinez."
  7. I thought he did well on that move that left Jonas Olsen in the dust (and then the sidelines).
  8. I read a quote somewhere, from Rom I think, that said the manager had tough words for them and that the senior players spoke up, too. Just what you'd hope for.
  9. He was clearly frustrated when Barkley missed a sitter in the first half.
  10. Naismith instead of Kone. Only change I'd make.
  11. I despair of newspaper headlines. Here's the Express. Chelsea flop Lukaku inspires Toffees as Funes Mori strugglesFor how many other teams would they label top players "flops?" And Funes Mori did well.
  12. If Martinez takes the shackles off the team and ups the tempo, I can see Everton winning this big time.
  13. He received flak from some, but I have no issue. It does take time to adjust to this league, and he'll learn from Jagielka in particular. Of more concern is the immaturity of Browning. Honestly, with Baines, Stones, and Coleman out, I'd say our defence have done a good job overall. Galloway, in particular, has really excelled.
  14. Deulofeu, but excellent contributions from Galloway, Kone, and Lukaku.
  15. Hey. We've never lost a game that started at 10pm.
  16. A good team and well balanced. Looking forward to this game.
  17. I forget now. I'm sure it was someone on that Everton team. What can I say: I'm getting old.
  18. I only see one difficult game coming up: Arsenal.
  19. Yup. Stack Stevens used to play for P&N. Cornwall had some good teams - still do.
  20. That was quite a team. I remember that one of the players looked double-jointed and could do really long throw-ins. Was it Morrissey?
  21. Not a good day. Bodmin lost to Bath, while Truro face a replay against Taunton.
