  1. Our preferences will go wholly unrealized in this quartet of fixtures.
  2. Not sure why we're trying to sell the most prolific striker the team has had in a while - especially when his form and effort levels have been improving. He's an Evertonian, and long may he remain so.
  3. He's trying to prove that a manager has a job to do based on his knowledge of players. A manager is not someone who makes decisions purely based on fan opinion. Anyone could do that and be paid minimum wage.
  4. If he drops Howard after a poor couple of games, that sends a bad message, too - that players aren't allowed to make mistakes. Also, dropping Howard right now would really smash his confidence. Managers shouldn't make snap decisions based on single games. I can see Tim Howard keeping his position for the next stretch of games and the situation being reassessed before the holiday period. And, it's very nice to know we have a goalie on the bench who's quite capable of stepping in at any time.
  5. Not sure why game hasn't started. Did your clocks go back this past weekend?
  6. But Lukaku and Kone have been shown to play well together. I'd like to see them both on the field: Kone instead of Mirallas.
  7. Frankly, they're idiots for signing a deal of this type. You simply have to link it to performance.
  8. Like the team in recent weeks: only showed up for the second half.
  9. They must have read some of the ideas we posted a month or two ago. A little creative thinking: way to go!
  10. It's the same old same old: England get way behind, make a brave come-back, and still lose. Of all the sporting nations, only England seem to think this scenario is laudable and praise-worthy. They lost, for crying out loud. We need to remember that close still means no cigar.
  11. What this points out is that Brenda was a weak manager and lost the dressing room.
  12. The draw has been made for the first round. Plymouth are at home to Carlisle, which, I believe, is the longest possible journey between two English clubs. There are several games that pitch one non-league team against another, so quite a few should make it through to the second round.
  13. There's one thing I do feel a little sorry for him about, and that's this charge of pushing a teen. Two guys hounded him, antagonized him, mocked him, and attempted selfies with him for over ten minutes as he walked from his home. How many of us would be tempted to give one of them a push after that?
  14. I don't get this. Joel did an admirable job stepping in last season. He was voted MotM at least once in that run of games.
  15. Why does no one consider Joel? He did a great job standing in last year. Just needs a run of games under his belt, and he'll be excellent.
  16. This scene was all too common. We hear all the time about how things were so much better years ago. Utter codswallop.
  17. Congratulations to nyblue23 for a 10-pointer. That was just enough to put him ahead of MikeO and Blue250 to win for the month of October. For the season and points per prediction, Blue250 still holds the lead.
  18. As a result, we'll be playing one of the youngest starting lineups in the league.
  19. Don't agree. We've faced the more difficult teams and now have several weeks of winnable games.
  20. Galloway was superb at times. Typical was the tackle in the first half against Oxlade-Chamberlain that won us a goal kick instead of Arsenal a corner. And he was more forward today as well. Turning out to be another youngster who'll soon be part of the team's core.
  21. Agreed. Personally, I think this is the right way to play against Arsenal.
  22. Reminds me of when Wang was a big name in computers. Their CEO at the time, not understanding the intricacies of British English, copied IBM (IBMers) and referred to everyone in his company as Wangers. In one company meeting, he apparently told everyone they were wangers and could pull things off that others couldn't manage. Caused more than one stifled laugh. But, I digress...
