  1. Exactly. Yesterday's was not his greatest game. The only goal to which he contributed was Leicester's second. It's all very well having favourites, but there's no point in exaggerating a player's contribution. Yesterday he wasn't really prepared enough to play.
  2. One of the things he should have done differently? Not waited until July 1 to start at United. In other words, he should have shafted Everton even more. A surprising admission to make.
  3. Were you watching the same game? We completely outplayed them in the first half, and there were plenty of positives. Mirallas played just a short time, had little impact, and was involved in the give-away goal. He needed more rest.
  4. I thought that too. The comment about losing shape when we subbed is quite accurate, I think.
  5. Hey, I'm allowed to! It's not harsh. It's my choice. When you run a competition, you should hold yourself to a different standard, that's all. But not everyone agrees with that sentiment, so many next time I'll make a change too.
  6. We focused on stability as well as bringing in new talent. Of course, if we had more funds, we would invest more in new players; as it is, we don't have the luxury of spending like there's no tomorrow. Personally, I think it was wise to sign Barry and Lukaku permanently as well as bringing in Besic and Atsu. It's all about balance.
  7. Liverpool sign yet another player. They don't seem to get that stability is as important as improvement.
  8. Or change it. If you leave your prediction to the last minute, you risk forgetting and scoring the big zero.
  9. On the plus side, we lead the league in number of goals scored this season. On the negative side, we lead the league in numbers of goals conceded this season.
  10. It's one thing to allow you guys to make changes, but, since I'm organizing this, I should avoid all appearance of taking advantage. It's OK - I would have probably chosen Lukaku anyway.
  11. Didn't think it would be fair for me to do so.
  12. The first time Swansea have ever won at Old Trafford, and the first time United have lost a Premier League opener at home. van Gaal is smashing records already.
  13. One game played, and two share the lead. Congratulations to AidanLewis and Matt, both of whom predicted a 2-2 draw.
  14. Given this was away to a newly promoted team, and given we have several key players out, and given we have some players not at full fitness because of the WC, this was a solid result. Yes, we were ahead, and it's always disappointing to lose after being ahead, but it's still a solid result. Before the game, we would have taken a 2-2 draw.
  15. In 10 minutes, take a quick snap of the Premier League table. United will be bottom!
  16. This aura about van Gaal being a master tactician is all hooey. Play Ashley Young at left back and pay the price!
  17. So basically Pienaar is in for Barkley.
  18. 22 people are in right now. Any more takers before the first game kicks off?
  19. This isn't true. I remember reading here statistics from the games he played for Everton last season, and they were among the best on the team for things like number of passes, percentage pass completion, and number of chances created. He played very well. Sadly, though, all people seem to see are his misses, which is very unfair.
  20. It means that for your first 5GB, you get very fast 4G speeds. Once you hit that limit each month, though, you are throttled back to slower speeds. It's unlimited data, but it's not unlimited data at 4G speeds. Different carriers throttle in different ways, though, so some might slow you down only during peak times. No matter what they advertise, I'm not aware of any carrier that truly offers unlimited wireless data at 4G speeds. As noted before, it would bring a carrier's network to its knees and is commercially unsustainable.
  21. There's no point rushing players back. It's just one game, whereas another injury could affect the entire season. I'd rather give one of the youngsters a chance.
  22. His goal against Arsenal was very impressive. Not many would have scored that. He was so quick-thinking and took his shot early. He's young, and he was playing in the BPL for the first time. Personally, I thought he did well and met expectations.
  23. His name is in the hat for the Crystal Palace job.
