  1. Wireless carriers in the US offer unlimited data only on slower speeds - or they may throttle down from 4G to 1X speeds after 5GB is used, for example. Unlimited text, thankfully, is the norm. Incidentally, I found out about the number of text messages my son was sending and receiving (you're charged for both) because the carrier had set up the plan wrongly and they were charging 1c per message. The bill had a charge for over $100, which is quite amazing. That translates to about one message every minute for every waking hour. We had a serious discussion after I saw that!
  2. I'm an iPhone addict and would have a hard time using any other type of phone. 4G speeds are quite incredible, but you soon eat up your data allowance. The key for us (because everyone in the house has an iPhone) is using the wireless connection to our cable Internet connection: very fast (50Mb/s) and unlimited data. My younger daughter probably watches an hour's worth of videos every night on her phone. Is it unlimited texting in Britain? One month, one of my son's managed to send/receive over 10,000 text messages in a single month. Thankfully he's now down to about 3,000, but we'd be bankrupt if it wasn't unlimited.
  3. Came across this online and thought it might be interesting. Quote a movie title and then add just one word to it. For example, Charlotte's Web Cam
  4. If an attacking midfielder, a loan backup for Barkley?
  5. Nope. I'm sure we're just being careful to get the best deal with the funds we have. It's easy to say it's just another million here or a million there, but those millions add up. You have to get the details right upfront, otherwise you spend years paying the price. Act in haste, repent at leisure.
  6. There remain three open loan slots. Last year, we had no idea what Roberto and team had lined up on the last day of the transfer window. Why should this year be any different?
  7. All credit to United for this appointment... https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/early-doors/manchester-united-history-signing-071418552.html
  8. Agreed. The better analogy is with the Oakland A's. Please please please don't compare Everton with the Mets!
  9. Then I'd hate to read what you think of someone about whom you are overly negative.
  10. I just saw the draw for the second round of the League Cup and was surprised to see that Everton are not mentioned. Looking into it, it seems that teams that play in Europe receive two automatic byes and first play in the third round. It's especially gratifying to see United playing in the second round.
  11. Given your record during the World Cup, just watch every other member now post 1-1.
  12. Then I stand corrected. Sorry. When listening one evening to cricket from Australia, I could hear radio commentary from the Australian news service but was blocked from the BBC. That too seemed odd.
  13. But that's true of plenty of other sites around the world paid for with taxes. I can watch NPR videos from anywhere for example - not that I ever have from outside the US. Why would commercial sites paid for by local advertising be any different? Plus, even if you pay a tv license fee, you can't watch videos while traveling overseas. It's just ridiculous.
  14. This would be a great solution. Mind you, the real answer is for the BBC to stop its ridiculous policy of blocking videos to viewers currently outside Britain. I know of no other company/site in the world that does this. Typical government-run company.
  15. I'd feel confident that public statements on the matter were run past Chelsea ahead of time.
  16. First off, we did win a preseason game but it was behind closed doors. Second, I frankly don't care anyway. The results and performances of preseason games count for squat. I'm reserving judgment until after the first three real games. Btw. Now that all their fans' expectations have been raised through the roof because of the preseason, I can't wait to see United lose at home to Swansea.
  17. Ten days = five everdays. We need to introduce this new word to the English language: It will save on a lot of typing. 1 everday = 48 hours.

  19. You're in a time warp. And it was Norwich. That won't happen against Leicester.
  20. Do the EL champions have to go through CL qualification rounds?
  21. Don't Chelsea continue to be his sponsors? This is a loan deal, after all.
