  1. i wonder if he will even get calls anymore after this. he's not a sure bet anymore.
  2. forgot that bit yeah so new strategy, we need to pray for an early red card.
  3. yeah i don't think it's the most accurate but i did a few google searches because i thought i remembered reading an article when we first signed him (Gbamin) about all his injury issues at Mainz, couldn't find it or i dreamt it up. as i said above it happened on his watch. just like a CEO is liable for all employees, he's liable for all incomings/goings/etc he's Director of Football. that's his job that's why he's paid millions just like a CEO is. unless as i stated above the work culture is different in england and execs aren't held to that high of a standard for accountability. i've worked for japanese and american companies, and regardless of the issues i faced at the end of the day there are no excuses. either you did the work and it was acceptable or you didn't and there was no excuse that would make that ok. again this could be a cultural difference, maybe you europeans aren't as hard on people.
  4. Good point here mike, all I can say is in a corporate environment (maybe this is cultural and it’s different in England so I could be totally wrong on this) regardless of the outcome if its within your duties and you make a mistake you are accountable regardless of the circumstances. He’s paid millions of pounds a year, and like you said he doesn’t have a crystal ball but in my experience bosses don’t just let things like that slide. Maybe in England they are more humane and understanding I dunno.
  5. the transfer will be called a failure and it was Brands who signed him. those are facts. If you don't like the word whopper, than my mistake (see not a problem), use whatever non hamburger noun you'd like. that doesn't change the outcome though and it doesn't change who's accountable for that. i went to look at more people for comparisons, doucoure and davies. i'm not sure that site is accurate. says davies has only missed 2 games in his whole career. doucoure missed 4 with watford.
  6. Carlo's had him with 2 different teams i think he knew the injuries were just part of the package when he got him. The tired bit today was a little weird, maybe a lost in translation thing or something.
  7. mike if you read the link bailey sent it shows stats on how many days he was out and how many games he missed. he missed 23 matches, where you getting the 12 games you say are fact? as to bailey's points, allan's record is similar, which isn't true, go to the same site and look, allan has missed less matches (only 16) AND he's 5 years older than JP. James there's no argument, but we didn't pay 25m for him, we paid nothing and there were other factors (commercial, big name, americas marketing, etc). as far as saying my mistake i've done that plenty just read every rumorama thread and you'll see my record on signings is worse than ole Brands.
  8. Well it's away so that's good, and they already have the league wrapped up and are focused on champions league, and they went up 2-0 on Brighton and lost 3-2 because i don't think they cared. So we have some things going for us Let's hope the players are motivated and Spurs/Arsenal/West Ham all lose. I don't think anyone is expecting us to win this, i think the opposite really. Pickford Keane Mina Godfrey Coleman Allan Gylfi Doucoure Digne Richarlison DCL
  9. great result, well done from richarlison, and the defense stayed strong for a clean sheet.
  10. there's no need to try and put me down, i'm just expressing my views.
  11. Not hurt at all just love the selective criticism. Everyone having a go at Richarlison and DCL and Carlo. No one looking at brands digne and Coleman, they all get passes for some reason even though they have been as bad or worse. Just the way TT goes, mob mentality. Thank you for caring about me though, XOXO
  12. He had 1.5 good years, been league average since then. For the wages he’s on he’s performing below that standard. You wanna have a pop at Carlo and everyone “he’s not above criticism” well neither is digne, he was ducking awful this year. You could swap him with any other LB in the league and there wouldn’t have been any difference. But go on about Carlo please
  13. And the worst have been (iwobi Gomes digne bernard Mina delph gbamin) with gbamin and delph barely playing, both had large injury records before we signed them. 2 for and 6 against. Shit that.
  14. in Carlo i still trust, we have some real shit players, let's get rid of them first before we throw the stones at Carlo. He's been hamstrung by poor investment and an ok DOF. Hopefully he directs Brands more on the players he wants and we get his guys that are willing to play the style he wants and fight for matches that matter.
  15. i'm talking about this season like the rest of the people in this thread. the mental block i spoke of "for years" is bottling it in big games or "must win" games. which i then likened to the home matches THIS campaign.
  16. i think it's the mental block we've had for years. home games are "must win" something to play for, so we bottle it. away games there is nothing on the line so we play with freedom and win.
  17. That’s why I said on paper. Same with a lot of matches this year. The application is the issue.
  18. you didn't even read, i don't hold besic and bolasie against him, HE DIDN"T BUY THEM. he did buy the dross i mentioned and he is accountable for that. this is what i'm talking about. you don't have to worry about selling players IF YOU BUY THE RIGHT ONES. he didn't. the ones he bought that are solely on him really only godfrey, kean, digne, and doucoure can be credited to him. richarlison (silva) james and allan due to Carlo. Digne was good for 1, maybe 2 years, he's been average or worse since the new contract (mayhaps we should have sold when linked with City) honestly he's like league average player i'm not sure he's even something to put in the win column for marcel. king just been average, niels we haven't seen anything. kean had a rough year, has been on loan, wants out and we'll make money on him. so count godfrey doucoure kean, 3 players? come on. like i said walsh had a better track record than that and he's treated like a pariah around here.
  19. the problem i already stated is he bought them in the first place. we wouldn't be stuck if he recruited better.
  20. It’s his fault for buying them. Bernard Delph iwobi Gomes Mina gbamin are whoppers on his CV. I doubt we can move all of them but we need to. That’s on marcel full stop. I’m not holding Gylfi or tosun against him because he didn’t buy them. That lot I mentioned was over 100m pounds. And we thought Walsh was bad! Brands ain’t been much better
  21. He’s not been great at actually selling players, been alright at getting the ones we don’t want loaned out. I’m not his biggest fan so we will see what he does this summer. There must be sales, we are in financial problems with FFP and stupid spending and COVID so let’s see how good this guy really is.
