depends on how much funds we have. anything 20m and under no thanks, i'd like 4m for him. if we have over 20m i'm okay with 6m. we have enough english and homegrown players that we can get some foreigners, and why not.

really great point. with younger players like gerry i think it's less of an issue because they have a whole career ahead of them and want to do well to continue to improve, progress, etc. but this article is exemplified by gareth barry. played his socks off last season to secure a deal with us for longer than we should have signed. well worth it after the performance he gave last year, but now we are stuck with him, and he could possibly have less drive to win and do well since he's got the last contact of his career. not saying that's what he's doing, just that the loan can end up badly in scenarios like that.

Watched this at work and spot on mike. I think there are plenty questioning here and saying Martinez out. Just cause it's not on these guys Twitter feed they think it doesn't exist. Only part I really agreed with is fans disappearing when we win. I agree to some extent that certain posters don't show up when we win, but on the whole TT has a good amount (granted I'm not a mod so here comes the pie in my face) of steady responders regardless. i agree with MC here mike0. if it looks like a duck, tastes like a duck, flies like a duck, smells like a duck, most likely is a duck. the situation with distin is the same thing. i'm not saying i agree with rumours and the like, but it's not like a reporter just says "i'm going to make up a story about distin bustup" and prints it (i'm skeptical of the news as well). although the story might have been complete rubbish, it didn't come out of nowhere. some shred of truth somewhere which was most likely embellished extravagently. do i agree with every story out there, no, but it's a story for a reason. looking at distin, mirallas, either they have debilitating injuries that RM is lying about, or they lost all the ability suddenly (more so with distin) to not be on match day rosters, or maybe, there just was a little bustup and RM has decided to move on without them. not out of the question. just like HAF said, these days no one wants to give the truth so they talk about it in their books after retirement. sad really. i love honesty.

Pad the more I think about it you're right. Those players that are eligible will now go up in price inflating already inflated prices. Mid-to-low players who are eligible will now be in demand not cause they are good but just because they are eligible and fill a need. Not to mention we just sold a bunch of academy lads because they couldn't cut it (Kennedy, gk, mcaleny?, etc). Let's hope these u18 and u21 lads all turn into Harry Kane's. Meanwhile the teams with money will be fine. Just like FFP this is designed to protect the big boys.

We don't have any. Lennon is on loan, mcgeady injured and out of form, Osman too old, piennaar too old and injured, atsu on loan. Mirallas is our only winger proper and he and RM had a falling out. If he leaves we'll need at least 3 in, ossie can still play but he's the only one is want out there of that lot.

so nottingham forest are still big time? playing in the championship without ever really cracking into the promotion playoff spots? i get where you're coming from, but players don't look at history to decide where a transfer should go, they look at money and league position/europe. we are small time on all 3 currently (key word, we looked a lot different last year, had league postiion and europe, still not a lot of money).
