  1. all your arguments are pre TV money haf. the TV money has made the gulf even larger. 28m was our whole kitty blown on rom. man u and liverpool did what 100m each? MikeO - currently 13th in the table, small time.
  2. not naive just know those clubs target bigger and better players. they have more money and wages and don't go shopping in the bargain bin as much as smaller sides do. look who liverpool spent money on. only 1 was bargain bin, rickie lambert (more of a publicity stunt than anything, he barely sees the pitch in cup matches). the rest were 12m+. same with spurs, they spent 8m plus gylfi to get a backup LB (ben davies). Arsenal go big with Sanchez, Ozil, etc. They're not buying small time players, they buy the proven players for a premium. The Ukranian lads are small time and that's why I say we have a chance.
  3. i agree on robles, garbutt, barkley, and besic. they are starting caliber and quality players. don't know if browning and galloway at CB would be a good idea though if we want to try and go on a run.
  4. what bigger clubs want a mid grade player for 10m when they can afford to buy a world beater for 25m? with your and romey logic arsenal won't buy coleman at 25-30m because trippier is 10m, who cares that he's a quarter the player coleman is. doesn't make any sense. bigger clubs go for bigger players, these aren't them. clubs the likes of spurs go for bigger players than this as well, lamela was how much? eriksen was how much?
  5. good hopefully sterling leaves and they don't replace mignolet or the defense. would love to see them doing the europa relegation fight next year.
  6. great point mike, we do need the money and we don't have extra games with europe next year either. strongest sides out for me now as well.
  7. dude you are ridiculous. these are mid grade players, not world beaters. man city and chelsea aren't trying to pound the doors to get these guys, they're 8m-12m players. that's the type of team we are now and they are in range. newcastly needs a new manager before players will rush over there, spurs have decent wingers already and will be good especially if they add mirallas, soton doesn't seem interested. west ham, stoke city, everton, swansea, i'm not seeing a ton of competition otherwise they would have been snapped up in january.
  8. They are linked with everyone, it's all shite. With sterling coutinho, lallana, youngster, etc they are fine with attacking midfielders and wingers. They need a goalie and defenders and they won't have Suarez money. Plus I mentioned 2 guys so we're not all in for one or the other.
  9. higher wages and transfer fee usually can persuade anyone. Also not playing in a war zone helps.
  10. With the new FA ruling on homegrown players sell mirallas and get Lennon. We can get yarmolenko or konoplyanka for the other wing and then sign some filler for reinforcements. Give ossie a one year deal he's still useful.
  11. The U.S. has brainwashed you. Socialized medicine accounts for 10 of the top 10 healthcare systems in the world. The U.S. is 29th with its free market. Free markets suck. I think this will be like bundesliga now with more homegrown players, also the academies will be bringing in foreign players to train and make homegrown. We are decently stocked for this, others not so much.
  12. Yes I work in IT so I pay bills, surf the net, research future purchases, check email. Why not?
  13. a guy i used to work with does this as well. the roads are really bad where i live so once my tires go i'm doing the same.
  14. Yeah barry will be there. I can actually watch this game since its on a Saturday morning (will be nice again next year). Sadio mane, dusan tadic, and graziano pelle have all hit a dry spell so maybe we can escape with a draw.
  15. Not looking forward to this. They are flying high, we are flying low. Also gareth barry is back from suspensioN. Robles Coleman Stones Jags Baines Lennon McCarthy Gibson Osman Kone Lukaku
  16. Right I meant an all out fight between the 3 champ teams and 1 prem team. Hibs Rangers, queen of the south and whoever drops, in Scottish teams that some serious competition. Enjoying it though, should be fun.
  17. And rangers have won. Hearts are back up to the spl, good for them. Will be an all out cockfight for the other spot. Should be interesting at least.
  18. Didn't watch the match, was at a friends birthday party drinking at noon onwards. I feel fantastic. Glad we won and got 3 points, one more win and were safe and can play browning lesson Garbutt and long.
  19. Good for them. They deserve to be back in. Really hope hibs and Stubbs are able to hold off Rangers queen of the south and whoever from the spl.
  20. Won't argue with that one but! But he has a ton more trophies and honors in his chest in a lot longer successful career, rm got by the one in a short career with a relegation already.
  21. Haha nope. On contract couple mil a year with the Cleveland orchestra and in summers he does the Vienna bit. Cleveland orchestra is a top 5 in the world orchestra. And yes chalk pie Pierre Boulez was fantastic!
  22. BK - "Roberto it's looking dire, you promised me champs league at one point" RM - "we still play phenomenal tiki taka bill, and I promise you next year we'll be champions league, Garth barry is just hitting his stride" BK - "fair enough, would you like another 5 year contract?"
