  1. Don't think so this time. Naby Keita, Ox, Lovren, Matip, Shaqiri, Fabinho all legitimately injured. Where the BS could come in is if he wanted to he could start: Alisson Trent Gomez VVD Robertson Wijnaldum Henderson Lallana Salah Firmino Mane. Needless to say that would be less than ideal for us. If they were playing anyone else I'd expect a few kids in there but I'm not sure he can justify that playing us - especially given their home record and overall record in the past decade against us. He won't want to lose that mental dominance. Let's see how he plays his cards.
  2. Origi and Gabriel Jesus crush us. Truly rather see Firmino and Aguero out there.
  3. China and Saudi Arabia. You could even throw Turkey in there in a few cases.
  4. Richarlison and Digne need a break before the derby. Delph will know City's tendencies better than Tom. Shade DCL down the channels for counterattacks like Roberto used to do with Rom. Let's see what Kean can do as the target man. Pickford Coleman Mina Holgate Baines Sidibe Delph Siggy Bernard DCL Kean
  5. You've just described every club's ideal signing no? Simply, I prefer to sign players who are better than the ones we currently have and fit within the culture. Age, value, wages etc. is a Moshiri/Brands issue. If James and a CB can push us up the table to European football his sell on value (or potential lack thereof) is a problem we'd be happy to have 3 years from now when he's approaching the end of his contract.
  6. Generally speaking I’m sick of watching us try to build a new team every summer. Seems it’s been 3 or 4 in a row now. 2 in - get the best CB and no. 10 we can find. They will make everyone around them better. We have ‘enough’ at all the other positions. No more rushing to transform the squad...it hasn’t worked and now Ancelotti/Brands are stuck with FFP looming based on our previous shit buys.
  7. Based off Carlo's comments I'd expect to see Davies Kean Walcott and Baines start with fresh legs. The other 6 positions (Pickford still GK) are anyone's guess but I sure hope we don't see Keane. Most curious with RB as they both played 90' yesterday. Pickford Coleman Mina Holgate Baines Walcott Davies Siggy Bernard Kean Tosun Maybe?
  8. With varying degrees of reality...names that could surface: Played for Ancelotti at PSG/Real/Bayern/Napoli - not playing regularly: Rabiot, Khedira, Douglas Costa, Hysaj Bought by Ancelotti at PSG/Real/Bayern/Napoli: Verratti, Bale, Illarramendi, Isco, James, Renato Sanches, Sule, Tolisso, Malcuit, Fabian Ruiz, Manolas, Lozano Players at 'big' clubs not playing a lot: Rugani, Umtiti, Kehrer, Draxler, Eder Militao, Lemar, S Arias, Todibo, Arthur, O Dembele, Dahoud Napoli: Koulibaly, Zielinski, Milik, Insigne Upcoming/current free transfers: Eriksen, D Silva, Mertens, Vertonghen, Oscar, Muenier, B Soumare, Matuidi, Kurzawa, Modric, Willian, Gotze
  9. Pickford Coleman Mina Keane Digne Davies Holgate Siggy Richarlison DCL Bernard Prefer this away. Though it kills me to include Keane.
  10. Pickford Sidibe Mina Holgate Baines Richarlison Davies Delph Bernard DCL Kean Have to keep an eye toward Newcastle as well. Prefer this lineup at home.
  11. Doesn’t count now that most seem to be seeing the same thing but I have never once been impressed by anything Iwobi has done. He’s usually the most direct player but nothing even seems to come from it. Not willing to give him credit for that regardless of how poor the rest of the team is playing.
  12. Just want to put on record that regardless of what happens tomorrow we, the entire club, owe Duncan Ferguson a huge debt of gratitude. Remember where we were 14 days ago. We've since beaten Chelsea, tied Utd and 'tied' Leicester. Not only the results he has represented the club so well on the touchline and through the press. Say what you want about his technical/tactical ability you cannot take away his love for the club. Thank you Duncan. That being said the players better be up for it tomorrow and send off Duncan with a win. They owe it to him. We all do. I want to see him with his hands in the air and tears in his eyes as he salutes the fans after the final whistle. Everton that.
  13. In fairness underwhelming at Real and Bayern is hardly an indictment on the player. Fits the profile of our best current players (Digne Gomes Mina).
  14. Pickford Sidibe Holgate Mina Baines Iwobi Davies Gylfi Bernard DCL Richarlison Let's hope Sidibe and Gylfi are back to provide some needed fresh legs. Wish walcott were fit instead of iwobi. No words to describe Keane.
  15. Surprised it took this long honestly. Ancelotti brought him to Madrid and Bayern so he clearly fancies/fancied him. https://www.eyefootball.com/news/43298/Everton-swoop-James-Rodriguez.html
  16. You mean with the exception of leaving Maddison absolutely wide open to score the first?
  17. Fingers crossed on Ancelotti. Brands has moved mountains so far but there's still so much to be done. GK: Pickford, Lossl, JVirginia DEF: Holgate, Keane, Digne, Mina, Coleman, Kenny MID: Delph, Gylfi, Morgan, Andre, Gbamin, Davies W: Richarlison, Walcott, Iwobi, Bernard ST: DCL, Tosun, Kean Out of contract: Stek, Baines, Sidibe (loan end), Cuco, Garbutt, Niasse Dead wood: Bolasie, Sandro, Besic Youth likely to be gone: Pennington, Connolly, Beni, Dowell, Broadhead, Bowler, Hornby If we could get $95m from Keane($20m), Gylfi ($20m), Morgan ($15m), Tosun ($15m), Bolasie ($10m), Sandro ($5m), Besic ($5m), and combined youth ($5m) that would set us up to spend $150-200m on the spine. CB, CM, ST. Plug gap at backup LB with a similar Sidibe type deal.
  18. Ok haven't hopped in on this yet but i'll bite. I'm lost as to how people think Duncan was looking to embarrass Moise and/or looking to prove a point. Duncan is the (caretaker) manager of Everton Football Club. Everton were playing a match at Old Trafford. Duncan's only job, his only job, is to figure out how to achieve the best possible result. In the 70' Duncan thought replacing Bernard for Kean gave Everton a better chance at achieving the best possible result - perhaps he thought Kean could give them a better chance of scoring the winner, which I think we'd all agree with. In the '89 he faced a similar situation however he must have been looking to protect the draw. The decision is simple. The attacking players on the pitch were Kean Iwobi DCL and Richarlison. Iwobi DCL and Richarlison are all better players defensively than Kean and certainly have a higher work rate. Duncan made the only decision a manager should be making in that situation. How can we as a team, club, collective achieve the best result.
