For a team trying to love the ball it’s like the players hate it. Doucoure has been quite poor in my opinion. I think we need to try and mix it up a bit here.

Some players in there that need a big big game here. I don’t like the line up one bit though. We need a 3 man midfield and Coleman’s crossing is so so poor plus his legs are gone.

I think there’s a really weak culture that has crept into the team and it’s progressively gotten worse to a point that it’s on display week in, week out. Lack of leadership - since Martinez, the players have put in absolutely shit performances but come out to the media and say all the things about hard work, looking at themselves and then a manager gets sacked and they have been cleared of any responsibility. Bit by bit the players have changed but the mentality has festered. Signing too many players from “big clubs” who were down on confidence and trying to reignite them.

Only place a goal looked like coming from off Gordon’s boot to be honest. Doucoure was shocking last game out, those 3 in the midfielder can play a pass and we need to keep the ball more.

Can anyone remember the last time we played the same defence for a period of 5+ games? This is our issue and it’s not helping any of the lads at the back. I’m not saying the last lot we put out are the answer but I think we need to try and keep some familiarity between them.

True mate I didn’t even take notice and just assumed he was. Maybe with Jonjo being suspended and Coleman being Coleman he might get his chance… cannot be any worse than what we have seen of late

He’s in a hard spot - If we a solid centre back partner ship I think he would have brought him in games ago for Coleman. Problem is Mina is made of glass and Keane has fallen apart at the worst time - leaving us with Holgate who we all know is rubbish so naturally we need some experience in the back line. It’s an absolute cluster fuck though.

Same - Coleman could do that Azpelicuta ( spelling ) role and is probably more suited to that then playing wing back. Kenny has put some decent crossed in of late as well. Head scratcher though

If we do that we can’t blame the players for having no fight. Fans can make the difference in these moments. We can’t forget or forgive the players who packed up tools though and there’s been a few the last weeks.

Needs to play for his energy alone. Coleman is finish - all sentiments about how lovely the bloke is have to put aside.

Sorry but that’s just ridiculous. 1st goal he is keeping half an eye on Son and maintaining the line - Coleman drops way too deep and gets done. If there’s no communication from Holgate then that’s his mistake. Also it’s not great positioning for the cross but it’s all reactive from the moment Coleman was done - Anything back to the edge of the area Holgate should cover - Kane is running off Keane and he tracks him near post, fucks up a simple clearance. Should have been dealt with but should have been avoided from the start. Second goal - Holgate is marking son and steps into press kulusevski after he skips by the training cone. 3rd goal - tracks winger, could 100% do better on the second ball, no doubt. Kane runs off Keane through on goal. Smart movement - very very poor defending

Holgate is not great, I don’t think anyone is saying that but at least when he gets dragged out he doesn’t let both ball and man pass.

Watched the start of the game back and neither are covering each other. Holgate is getting dragged out of position because Coleman was too far forward and no legs to get back. Keane was shocking on more than 1 occasion for getting dragged out and letting both man and ball go past him. Sons early chance that Gordon got back for is an example, along with Sons goal where he allows their winger to get goal side leaving Holgate completely exposed and finally the Harry Kane goal. If Keane’s our best centre back than we are well and truly fucked.

Lampard must be having sleepless nights trying to pick a team here. The “senior” players have let him down so badly. To think we are in a relegation scrap and potentially having to look to two 20 year olds to come into defence to get better results is incredible. What makes Lampard look worse? Play Keane and Coleman again and potentially get ripped apart again Or Play Branthwaite & Patterson and not get a result.
