  1. I know there are quite a few on here that believe using our injuries as to why we’ve had such a bad run is an excuse to cover Benitez’s lack of ability as a manager, and that under Ancelotti we had pretty much the same team and preformed much better. Just to try and give a bit of perspective to this in our first 18 league games under Ancelotti. DCL 15, Richarlison 15, Doucoure 13, and Mina 16. I was surprised at Mina’s run when he’s always injured, I chose these players because they are the spine of the team and probably the better players in the team, in comparison the first 18 league games under Benitez. DCL 4, Richarlison 11, Doucoure 14, and Mina 7. Not quite an even playing field for Benitez wouldn’t you all agree. so hopefully everyone will agree our current run of injuries would have a huge affect on team performance and should be taken into consideration and not dismissed as just an excuse.
  2. I wasn’t just particularly referring to this one comment in general you have become boring with your comments about Benitez, constantly trying to dismiss anything that anyone says that may show Benitez in a favourable light not based on anything but dislike . I’m beginning to think you have morphed into Cornish Steve and lost complete sense of balance when it comes to Benitez, fuck me just realised what a scary thought that is
  3. Steve you of all should know I’m never wrong
  4. Changed it mate you were right about Gordon I completely forgot about him, shocking I know.
  5. Grow up Bailey your dislike of Benitez is becoming boring now mate, anything some says that might show a bit of positivity to the manager you have to try and dismiss? Yawn
  6. I think we do mate. I think we all know what Benitez has said will be pretty much spot on, you don’t like Benitez so you’re blinkered to what’s happening you accuse Benitez’s ego of not picking Digne no manager worth his salt should be picking a player who doesn’t want to play and wants to leave.
  7. But can’t you see one is the same as the other, Digne says I don’t want to play your tactics Benitez says I’m not changing my tactics so you can’t play in my team, Digne says your not playing me I want to leave. There’s no room for any player in any team who shows he isn’t fully committed to team.
  8. So why do so many choose to ignore that Digne has said he doesn’t and shown lack of commitment to the team, regardless of what he may feel about Benitez and the tactics.
  9. I’m fully signed up to Benitez’s we only want people at this club who want to be here and are fully committed to the team instead of just themselves. He leads by example the team is more important than any individual, he’s shown that by dismissing any chance of him leaving and taking the easier job at Newcastle, the richest club in the world and adored by the fans how much easier life could have been, but Benitez is honourable and through out his career as shown impeccable loyalty unlike Ancelotti for instance. He’s here to do his best and make the hard decisions to transform our past of shit managers and shit purchases that have led us to where we find ourselves now. I am completely with Benitez and Reid any player who wants to leave or isn’t committed to the team tactics can fuck off and shouldn’t be considered part of the club, to look at them any other way would be abject weakness and those who think that should fuck off with them.
  10. I think we should go with a standard 442. Pickford. Coleman. Keane. Godfrey. Mykolenko Gordon. Doucoure. Gomes. Gray Dobbin. Rondon. With Dobbin just playing behind Rondon.
  11. And it also shows that if a player follows his managers instructions what is possible. You would have thought Lukaku would have learned a valuable lesson there but obviously not, but at least he had the courage to write an apology for questioning Touchel even if he didn’t mean it.
  12. I do take it in jest mate, a bit of sarcasm tinged with a bit of humour is the best medicine for these situations, a little bit of piss taking lifts the spirits.
  13. The answer is to try to not create the problem in the first place, but if it can’t be avoided you shouldn’t be shooting at the person who didn’t create it but has come in to try and address it, until he’s had a decent amount of time to put his stamp on it and if things aren’t improving after a minimum 18 months then shoot away.
  14. Never been one to run with the crowd Steve individualism gets you noticed and gives you a voice, even if that voice is bullshit
  15. We did Matt and for 3 months we were living the dream then the fairytale ended quite unexpectedly.
  16. There you go Steve just not in the Benitez thread.
  17. I believe I answered that question when you asked me a few days ago.
  18. I think it is also the case that we are only hearing one persons side of the argument and that person is full of it and full of himself. Digne has a right to respond to anything that has been said by Benitez or the club after all he has nothing to lose, I would say everything that officially has been said hasn’t been detrimental to anyone and are the facts of what has happened to get to where we are now. If anything was untoward then Digne would be defending his position, the fact that he isn’t is because nothing has been said that is untrue or can’t be qualified. There’s no underhanded shit going on here and you’re statement is based solely on your personal dislike for Benitez.
  19. And without trying to be a dick I hope your wrong, not for any personal gratification but because we need to to get some stability back. I’m also quite aware that he might get the push in 3 or 4 weeks and we will move on to another episode of our turbulent few years and that prospect scares me more than the one we are in now. I don’t want to fall out with anyone who thinks Benitez should be sacked immediately because I know that comes from a love for the club and a genuine concern for our future, as those who feel he should be given more time are also doing so for the right reasons.
  20. He still believes he can change things and I believe he will change things, I never expected him to do it in 4-5 months and I don’t believe he said he can do it in that time frame, we may have gone backwards in terms of recent results but is that not more because of a catalog of injuries to most of our better players and a lack of depth in the squad to bridge the caps, I believe we are going forwards with him he is buying players for positions that we need he is addressing the problems and weaknesses in the team, he first saw we lacked width so got Gray and Townsend in now he’s working on the defensive issues he’s brought in a LB and RB which the 5 managers and 2 DoF before him never seemed able to do, the next thing I think he will do is search out a better CB. You seem to think we are going down I don’t share that few for we will finish the season in a mid table position and the team will be developing and improving.
  21. He’s having to deal with the shit of many others, only the I unknowing would actually believe that someone could come in and change 6 years of shite with no money in his first transfer window with a catalog of injuries to most of the most important players to the team and all in a few months. If he had taken on a successful team with plenty of depth in the squad and turned it into what we see now I might agree with you, but your post proves to me you have very little understanding of the magnitude of the job he has taken on, or you would realise that time to implement a change of direction is needed.
  22. This is a results industry and a very highly pressured industry and the buck stops with the manager not the players, we’ve had players here who are working under their 2nd 3rd 4th 5th and some even 6th manager to prove it’s the manager who pays the costs for bad results and not the players. Now we’ve got a manager that’s strong and understands that he will live and die by his decisions and is focused by his plan going forward, but because he won’t allow himself to be dictated by a player or maybe players he accused of being on some sort of ego trip, this club has had a fucking gut full of weak management weak players and weak supporters.
  23. If he doesn’t play competitive football between now and the World Cup he doesn’t play in the World Cup, his match fitness touch positioning and confidence will be shot and no manager would gamble that he would come good in a few games. Whether or not Benitez uses him if he’s not sold depends on whether Digne is committed to how he’s asked to play, plus Mykolenko may turn out to be a better LB, and if that should be the case I suspect we won’t even see him on the bench that often, or Benitez gets sacked and who ever takes over puts him back in the team. But what ever happens it has to be the best deal for Everton and not a player trying to dictate where he’s prepared to go, if Newcastle offer £30m and Chelsea only offer £20m then the club should dismiss Chelsea’s offer and except Newcastle’s offer, then Chelsea have an opportunity to up there offer, and if they don’t Digne has 3.5 weeks to make one of the most crucial decisions in his career which is to sign for Newcastle on big money and get guaranteed football which should cement his place in the World Cup or stay here and take his chances. As harsh as that may sound the ball is in his court and the cards are in our hands.
