Your becoming a broken record Steve going over and over the same ground to be honest mate it’s getting boring, I pray that there’s enough knowledgeable people on this site when it comes to football to look at the bigger picture and to not sympathise with Benitez position but to understand the huge challenges he has taken on and at minimum give him a least 12-18 months to put his stamp on proceedings. I have mate mainly in the Digne thread under 3 managers as well that’s how long I’ve felt he hasn’t been anywhere near his best, his first season was world class and every season after for some reason he has steadily got worse until we find ourselves where we are now. But it isn’t just him who I have been critical of, I have also said Coleman, Delph and Iwobi shouldn’t make the team. Also I’ve said many times that Mina Gomes and Gbamin should be moved on because we get no continuity as team with players who are injured more than they are fit no matter how good they play on the odd games.

Proof that protesting and talking with your feet does yield results, I’m pleased the club have recognised that supporters have an important part to play in the clubs plans and are giving them a voice.

I agree they all should have defended the corner better, but it came through a crowd at a very low angle no higher than 5-6ft and took Godfrey completely by surprise, but should you always be ready to expect the unexpected there could be an argument for that I suppose. It was a shame really because as a team we dealt really well at defending dead ball situations for a team who are bottom of the stats in conceding from dead ball situations, and we had a lot of corners and free kicks to deal with in that game.

Digne deserves the fact that he’s not playing, not because he had words with Rafa but because he’d gone to rat’s shit for so long and was getting away with it, his outspokenness meant Rafa had to find a different way and he has Godfrey who is starting to look far better than Digne. He reportedly said he took Richarlison off because he had sustained In injury, whether this is true or not I’m sure will be made clear in the next day or so, but besides that Richarlison was pretty much non productive he was clearly not himself, and the manager has made a decision to change it because it wasn’t working and to be honest I think it had the desired effect with the 2 subs coming on. But I’m sorry no manager can legislate for the 2 big fuck up’s from Gray and Coleman, but they seem to be very quickly forgotten and all the blame for years of shit have been shoved all in the direction of one man, who’s not had a proper opportunity to change it, I know emotions are high and rage is blind, but sacking Benitez now would be very foolish, nobody would do much better but plenty would do a lot worse. I wonder how many would admit to wishing they had taken the opportunity to get up and walk out for 5 minutes now, if we don’t get a decent budget for new players in January window your all be getting another opportunity very soon.

So what you trying to say Steve exactly that the same wouldn’t happen to another experienced DoF? You may not call Walsh experienced but he oversaw the buying of players for a team that went on to win the PL which then sold a few of the players for millions of profit, not bad wouldn’t you agree? Who’s Moshiri going to backdown to as a DoF and allow to do the job without interference?

Haven’t we already had a couple of experienced DoF in the last 6 years, one who spent 200 million in 2.5 years and another who spent 300 million in 3.5 years. Not even Moshiri would be foolish enough to go back down that route, anyway even with his money he couldn’t take the chance and sustain those types of losses again he has to find a different way forward, that’s why he’s going with the manager in control of all team matters, which personally I prefer is Benitez the right man who knows at this stage, but one things for sure we couldn’t carry on the way we were.

I was taken in by the story posted by Zoo, because it was posted during the game I didn’t properly look at it just revisited it after reading your post and it as no worth to it.

That came through a crowd of players who never got a touch on it he saw it late imo, so we can’t just blame him, if you watch it you can see he sees it late and his attempt is just a late reaction to try and get something on it. Well that’s how I see it.

If it was just Digne who had been dropped because of playing disagreements I really wouldn’t give a flying fuck, he should have been dropped because he’s played poorly for far too long, and let’s be honest Godfrey is a far better replacement. But for Allan to be dropped for a disagreement I find concerning he’s been one of our top 5 players and Delph doesn’t offer the team what Allan doe’s, Benitez needs to sort this one out sooner rather than later we missed him today. We also now have the threat of Richarlison calling him out, or Benitez punishing him because of descent when coming off, could Benitez be cutting his own throat or is it a case of he has money and players already lined up in the January window, if so he needs to be careful because he might not make the window.

I think we were shit but Godfrey deserves his motm votes not his fault he was let down by players who showed a lot less endeavour than him.
