  2. Because £60m to United sounds wrong. We won't get what we should get for him but £60m is still too low, and to go to United... he can do much better than that and it would be mad to agree to go there.

  4. Considering I've already posted about it being a done deal (not that I believe it), it would be very strange to be surprised by it .
  5. I think they fully expected clubs to just take their medicine and not appeal and that it would quickly see off the independent regulator. They underestimated things badly and the complete opposite has happened.
  6. I wonder if the club will be considering holding on to Branthwaite and just taking the hit of a points deduction. I guess that would depend on just how much it would put us over. If it would only put us a small amount over then you'd have to consider it. If it leaves us massively over then obviously it would be out of the question.
  7. Even if the Premier League had taken the 17 points from us that they wanted to we still wouldn't be in the relegation zone today. Just think about that.
  8. Not really, because the new form won't come into effect until the season after next. Incorrect. Points deductions will still be used.
  9. Mate, I wasn't criticising that it was rushed out tbh. It was completely necessary that they had to do that. Those lockdowns were brutal (for a multitude of reasons), and while I do think those lockdowns were abused by the powers that be in terms of how hard they were, some form of lockdown had to happen and the vaccine allowed the lockdowns to come to an end. It all feels really surreal to think about it now.
  10. I did get it around Christmas (pretty sure I caught it at Goodison, so yet another reason for this season being a shitter ) and my body fought it ok thankfully. I'm not one of those selfish ones that didn't get vaccinated and then didn't give a shit about anyone else. I took tests whenever I was required when it all started and then when I got covid, even though it was no longer required and my symptoms were gone, I took tests until I actually tested negative again and didn't socialise with people until then.
  11. Do you know what the fucked up thing is? During the height of the pandemic unvaccinated me was less of a risk to the public than the vaccinated people, because I had to take a test showing I was negative before I could do anything whereas the vaccinated could go where they wanted and could have spread it because they won't have known whether they were positive or negative. I'm absolutely fine with not having it because that was looking after myself, which I think I was entitled to do. I have a condition and thought through all the pros and cons of having a new vaccine that had to be rushed out and not knowing how it would effect me. Nothing to do with any conspiracy theories for me.

  13. In general they are about protecting the majority but the covid vaccine is not. It protects no one but yourself because you still get covid with it, it just lessens the symptoms for you, and you can still pass it on to other people. Which is why anyone that doesn't/didn't want the covid vaccine should feel completely comfortable with that decision and not be made to feel guilty about.

  16. This week is supposed to be when we know either way, but where have we heard that before?
  17. After failing to win any of their first three Premier League meetings with Brentford (D1 L2), Everton have won each of the last three encounters. The Bees have only had a longer losing run against Newcastle United in the competition (an ongoing run of four games). Everton have won each of their past four home Premier League games without conceding. It is their longest such run in a single season since their final four games of the 2018-19 campaign under Marco Silva. Brentford have now lost 18 Premier League games this season, which is their joint-most in one Premier League campaign along with 2021-22. They last lost more games in a top-flight campaign in 1946-47 (26). The Toffees have scored 18 goals from set pieces in the Premier League this season (excluding penalties), with only Arsenal netting more (20). Idrissa Gueye has scored three Premier League goals for Everton this season, as many as in his first five campaigns in the competition combined. He has now netted two goals in his past three games in the competition, as many as in his previous 98 appearances.
  18. The PL did delete that tweet and reposted that we had confirmed survival.
  19. I love that we fucked up Sky's plan. Lets face it, that's why our game against Luton is on the tv on Friday. They thought it would be a relegation decider. Instead, it's now a bit of a damp squib.
  20. Tbf to him, he impressed me a lot more than Simms did in his starts. I just thought it was steady more than anything. It was a typical first start really, in that he had a go and there were a couple of decent bits but a lot of evidence that we shouldn't be expecting much from him for a good while yet. Got good attributes but a lot of work to do with him. I do think he's put on some mass since he arrived though, which is good, and I think we'll see an even bigger improvement in that regard after pre-season.
  21. Our passing has been woeful long before Dyche even arrived. Maybe the reason we go long so often is because he's not too precious about the football being pretty and because he realises these players aren't great at it. We're good at doing in small spells but consistently? Nah, someone will eventually play a stupid pass and give possession up. Do I want it to be better? Of course I do but I've been moaning about it for years so I think it's a little bit unfair to blame Dyche for it.
