Watching the England game, if Dom had missed the three chances Kane’s missed he would be slaughtered in the national press and by the pundits ( and many on here ! )

We all know Kean wanted out, and so did the club, but if no one is going to buy him there’s no funds to spend, as it stands he’s out on loan for 2 years with buy clause, very little money coming in from that, and it only happened on deadline day. We’ve been stung many times with deadline inbound deals, I’m glad we didn’t this time.

I’m sure he does, but maybe Rafa sees Jon Jo as a better option on who was available and wanted to come here at this time, probably not forever though, throwing money in transfer fees and wages on players that aren’t right have got us in the FFP mess because we can’t move then on when they turn out to be shit and a financial burden. Delph, Bolassie, Sandro, Klassen, Kean, Tosun immediately spring to mind . We all make mistakes, the trick is to learn from them, maybe we are starting to do that.

Also to add to the above, we still have our key players, DCL! Richy and Pickford, despite the rumour mill saying the first two were going elsewhere

DCL has a broken toe, we need to be able to rest him so he does burn out or become a crock.

It’s certainly been a window that we didn’t expect, but the additions seem to be what we needed, Demari and Andros bring much needed energy to the team, Azimir has PL experience and Solomon give good cover for Dom who we relied on too much last season and didn’t have a similar replacement, which I think we do now, he’s not going to set the world alight but I will feel more confident bring Solomon on rather than Moise. I have liked what Rafa has said so far, and how he has set us up, I guess he sees how he can cover the full back issues with the squad. i would be much happier if Delph had been moved on, it’s the one name I don’t want to see on match days.

I agree, Anyhow, back to the thread, I like Dom’s hair when it’s all Curly Wurly, I reckon it gives him a boost, and with the goals he’s going to score he will be a star (bar) and we will be in another galaxy, way way beyond the Milky Way, possibly close to Mars.

I can see Dom getting on the end of both Townsends and Greys crosses as they get game time together and gel, Richy and Doucoure picking up any knowdowns.

It’s wrong to judge anyone on one game, but the last 20 mins I caught yesterday, he was poor in all aspects.

It was a really good atmosphere at the end, Coleman or Rafa got the squad to do a lap of the ground applauding the fans, which was very well received. I think he will have won many over today, more so if we can respond as well in other games. Southampton were OK especially when we gifted them the lead, a good finish from Armstrong, who looked good all game, and apart from the many corners weren’t a real threat for the rest of the game.
