What a time to be alive. Good to see that the response to the banner is (on the whole) utter disbelief and disgust.

As much as I'd like to sit here and slate Ancelotti did King do anything during his cameos to suggest that he should get a start? I'm not saying that either party are totally at fault, but it's worth remembering that we're talking about Josh King (who was signed as an emergency back-up from the lower leagues) as opposed to a proven striker. If someone such as Digne, DCL, Richarlison came out with words like this, then it would carry much more weight.

The frightening thing is that I'm not speechless at Benitez coming in, I'm speechless at the fact that (if true) Moshiri hasn't listened to the likes of Marcel Brands and pressed on with his own choice anyway. Despite being the majority shareholder, if we have a scenario where we've literally got one man calling all of the shots off his own bat then that is a terrifying state of affairs. What's upsetting too (and that's the right word to use) is how this is going to make being a matchday fan for next season. A stadium that is completely toxic as 50% will back Benitez and 50% won't (at best). Banners will be out at pre-season games asking for him to be sacked and the media will be completely loving the absolute implosion that's happening at Goodison. I can't stop going to the game, or supporting Everton as for me and thousands of people it's just a way of life but I really, really don't want next season to come around - I'm dreading the opening day already. I honestly feel as though since Moyes left, this has just been one big nightmare dashed with little moments of glitter.

I think given the length of time between Benitez being announced as "imminent" and the fact that he is still yet to be announced shows that he won't be our manager, the same (hopefully) can be said for Nuno.

I really rate Aaron Ramsey, but he's on £400,000 p/w at Juventus so would need to significantly drop his wages to come here, I think the max I would be happy with us paying him is £100,000 p/w which when you then sit back and think about could potentially be used to bring younger players into the side.
