  1. News coming out of Paris this morning is that PSG will actually move for Erling Haaland as a replacement for Mbappe, rather than Richarlison. When you consider that his release clause is around €75m (I believe) then it makes a lot of sense, especially if we're asking for over €100m for Charlie. Indeed, nice to see us being smart with our potential departures .
  2. If this is the standard we are going for, then I would have Rondon as a back up - there, I said it. Has the physique to cause defenders problems at the back end of a game (which is when he would be playing) and if starting could do the graveyard shift and bring others into play (i.e. - Richarlison, DCL and Iwobi/Townsend). I actually rated him at Newcastle and despite playing in poor leagues since leaving (China and Russia) has managed to keep up a decent scoring record. Wouldn't jizz my pants, but wouldn't kick the coffee table over either. Like I've said since the start of summer, I'm past caring about marquee signings and want players that will run themselves into the ground and go through brick walls, if Rondon will do that on the cheap and nick a few goals in the process then happy days.
  3. Very true, although it's pretty obvious that he's unhappy at the club and has been frozen out by Benitez. He has played at Porto before (his first European club) so I think he would be happy to return to his roots and play for them again - not to mention that he would absolutely tear up the Liga NOS, should he still have the desire. The Moise Kean money, probably.
  4. It's been the craziest window I've known for a good number of years; Messi and Ronaldo moving and potentially Mbappe too ! Nailed on that he goes to United, Fabrizio Romano reporting it and Sky Sports breaking that the deal is close. It's been confirmed that he's left Italy, he was seen boarding his private jet a few hours ago, presumably for Manchester - I just know that when we come to play United at home my wife will be angling for a ticket ...
  5. Porto need to sell, so I can see this one happening. There's talks that Jesus Corona will also be leaving for either Sevilla or AC Milan before the window closes too. Luis Diaz is arguably Porto's best player, so whereas I'm not sure we need another winger this would certainly be of the standard that I could get behind. James going the other way makes me sad as I wanted him to make it here and be the player that we all know he can be, but to be honest he's just not been fit enough to justify his salary.
  6. Made up he's going to West Ham, he's bang average but Evertonians seem to wear these mad tinted glasses for him. He would make us arguably better, but marginally to the extent that we wouldn't see any benefit from it.
  7. Taking a massive loss on what we paid, plus will probably replace him with Neil fucking Maupay. .......yaaaaay
  8. Yeah, the Mbappe deal is being funded by Qatar, Real Madrid are just the smokescreen behind it all. I didn't think that he would move this summer, but the quotes from Leonardo (PSG's President) suggest the deal is actually pretty likely.
  9. Happy that he's gone back to Portugal, but no idea why we've allowed him to play at Sporting as he's not going to get any game time - no way does he replace Adan each week, especially as they've just won the league with him in goal. He should have gone to a mid-table side; Braga or Guimaraes for example. I just feel as this will be a wasted 12 months, unless we're loaning him out to be potentially sold. Edit: There's a buy clause for Sporting, so assume we're happy to sell.
  10. Same, sat a few whiskies deep with my old man and said "you know what's coming here". Just assumed that Michael Keane would wonder if he'd left the oven on at home and lost his man in the process. Glad that we got through that tie, would have been proper shite for morale to lose. As it happens we're unbeaten heading into Brighton.
  11. Gbamin hasn't played two games together since 1987, so I'll judge him after a few weeks as opposed to just a few games. He's looked average for me today, which is good enough considering what he's been through. I'd only be worried if he looked absolutely gash, like a lovechild of Ashley Williams and Fabien Delph.
  12. ANDROS TOWNSEND!!! André Gomes dances past the Huddersfield defence like the gorgeous Portuguese beauty that he is and Andros Townsend slips the ball past the keeper and into the roof of the net. Like watching the Nutcracker.
  13. Kean sent off. Hang on, what the fuck has Kean done wrong there? Late challenge so he gives the lad a shove, not seeing how that is violent conduct (i.e. - an elbow/headbutt). One of the most over the top sending offs I've ever seen . Edit: People on Twitter saying that Moise made contact with the lads neck/face. But didn't look like it to me - really want to see it back zoomed in as I'm honestly gobsmacked.
  14. 60/40 in our favour I'd say, looked generally the better team and had the better chances too. Huddersfield did miss an open goal/half chance so they could probably argue about being in the game, but I think on balance you'd put your money on us after that first half. Not worried at all, but of course that's me speaking too soon and we'll probably lose 4-1 now . Moise Kean is looking surprisingly bright and energetic.
  15. Iwobi! 1-0. Kean makes it 2-0 a minute later but is pulled back for offside, really unlucky as he finished it well.
  16. Just putting it out there that blue shirts, blue shorts and blue socks looks fucking brilliant.
  17. Fantastic, time for the annual "We're too good for the Carabao Cup despite winning fuck all for 26 years" posts.
  18. I honestly don't get why people have so many agendas on this forum, it's really baffling.
  19. Lukaku sets up and scores 15 minutes into his debut, an exceptional footballer who will absolutely tear up the Premier League. Was in fine form for Inter and would have been great at Manchester United had he not been criminally mismanaged. Chelsea lead 1-0. Edit: Tuchel's Chelsea are going to go down as one of the greats, they're just magnificent to watch. Obviously not a second team or anything like that, but an XI that you really want to do well just because of the magic they can conjour up. Making Arsenal look like a League Two side (and now lead 2-0).
