Fantastic qualifying session, so strange but Lewis is so out of character this season. Won title after title from not making mistakes yet he's making tons this year - hitting the wall and pretty much writing off his chances of pole. What I'd give for it to end Lando, George, Lewis (in any order). Still think Max will be Top 5 despite the back of the grid start. A Red Bull with all new parts will be lightening quick.

Security is an absolute joke at Goodison to be honest and miles behind other stadiums. When entering Old Trafford I had to leave my rucksack in a secure area outside of the grounds perimeter and then on both occasions visiting the Camp Nou there have been security wands, frisks (if needed) and metal detectors. It's always been a bug bear of mine that you can practically waltz into the ground unchecked providing you have a ticket.

That's a bit of a strange argument really. They're totally different players - it's a bit like saying who would win in a team of Richarlison's against a team of Mina's, they're totally different ends of the pitch?

If money was no object and we could realistically start from scratch you could get rid of around 75% of our squad without spending too much time thinking about it. Hurts to say, but apart from sprinkles of genuine quality we're a bit shit. The worrying thing for me is how long until the sprinkles (DCL, Digne, Richarlison) decide that enough is enough and move to greener grass.

Embarrassing that Godfrey was allowed to re-take his penalty, the goalkeeper was about an inch from his line at best. If it somehow means that we can sneak a European place come May then fine, but if we just limp to another mid-table finish then it's just a bit depressing. The alarm bells for me is that you take away a few players from our squad due to injury and all of a sudden we look second best at QPR.

I'm liking Charlie Austin less and less with each passing minute, nailed on that he gets a hat-trick now too. Godfrey made to look a right mug in the air, never even looked like winning the ball and with a header as close as that, with the pace on the cross Begovic was never getting there. Going to be a loooooooooooooooong night.

Without getting on the Iwobi hatetrain, that's an absolutely gash miss. He has to score, no questions asked - especially as he's got Townsend and Rondon to the side of him who he can give an open net to. Made up for Digne though, arguably my favourite player so to see him score and regain some confidence is fantastic. Lovely taken goal too !

André Gomes getting that bit closer with each shot. Just a shame that his first nearly hit the corner flag.

Oh bollocks, Austin makes it 1-0. Proper Bambi on Ice defending too, just didn't really get close to any of the QPR players and we're done on toast. Haven't shown much in the first 20 minutes to suggest we'll score a few tonight either which is a bit worrying, going into the weekend with two defeats on the bounce would be a bit shit.

Yeah this is what frustrates me (but is what it is). I held on to the hope that he would see the fans in the ground and fall in love a bit, as it happens we'll never know. Good business decision if we aren't going to use him though, £200,000 a week in our pockets again - as I say I just hoped that we might be able to turn his head in our favour somewhat.

This is a call to the board to spend some money (be that via through their own pockets or selling players) as our squad being this wafer thin causes capitulations like this. Get rid of the shite, beef up the squad.

Every time Andros Townsend shoots from about 70 yards my heart skips a beat - what a player . Agree that this would be excellent viewing for the neutral, either side could make a claim for the three points at the moment which considering we are away and playing with mass changes is pleasing to say, can't help but think that this is a game that Richie and/or DCL would thrive on though.

You do get the feeling that our opportunities will be few and far between, so we'll need to take our chance(s) as and when they come. One of those nights where we need to be ruthless, and tight at the back. Early days, but pleased so far though. Not a terrible opening 15 minutes.
