  1. Going for Fabian Delph this time. He knows how to read the game and get the basics done. It's not all about doing fancy turns and step-overs, it's more about doing the simple things that need to be done and doing them on a regular basis. Time will show how consistent he is of course, but against Wolves he did exactly what was required.
  2. Was going to go with 2-2 because I can't see Bournemouth not scoring, but the thought of us conceding eight goals in four games was too much for me. Bournemouth 0 Everton 1 Iwobi
  3. Good to see Jonjoe Kenny getting some playing time. What a cracking low powerful strike... great goal. Might just end up with a 'Lookman' situation if he settles in too much
  4. That video was more enjoyable/interesting than I thought it would be. Thanks for posting it Matt
  5. What's in a name? History, identity, the story of who you are and how you came to be: 'The club was initially a cricket team named The Wednesday Cricket Club after the day of the week on which they played their matches. The footballing side of the club was established to keep the team together and fit during the winter months. SWFC was born on the evening of Wednesday 4 September 1867 at a meeting at the Adelphi Hotel in Sheffield.' As far as the game itself goes, I see this being a real test for us and will show the character of players. Will be interesting to see who shows up and who goes missing in this one.
  6. Nice to see that Daleks are not being left out in this age of equality.
  7. Had the Titanic sank in this day age:
  8. Good luck to him. He's a talented player but his attitude stinks; thankfully his toxicity is no longer our problem
  9. I remember when most of us were going nuts because we had to use Martina on the left, having failed to bring in a replacement for Baines... it was well worth the wait though. What a find
  10. This wasn't a bad winning start to the 1894/95 Season; typical Everton still managed to come second in the league mind. Also Liverpool were relegated that season (finishing bottom) and we still couldn't beat them at Anfield, drawing 2-2 ffs Hmmm, this Marco Silva thread has taken a strange turn.
  11. Sigurdsson seemed to be a bit more motivated and involved against Lincoln, albeit sporadically. Looking forward to see him running on all four cylinders again pretty soon. We have a few players a little off-kilter at the minute; if we can get the pieces to fall into position it would make a world of difference, and we'd see a completely different Everton.
  12. Come on Bill, it’s just a simple task of going back say… fifteen seasons, using the first five games from each season to prove your point. Of course you’ll also be expected to provide detailed information about the playing style and tactics used for each game, and what the weather conditions were like and how they helped or hindered our style of play. Don't forget to get hold of a copy of the squad menu for each matchday and cross reference what food the players ate with the times during the day that they ate it, just to see if there was a positive, negative, or any impact on their individual performances that could, in turn, have influenced the results. I do believe that will do it. Oh wait… if you could also provide a few graphs… hmmm… pie-charts are always popular. Yes… yes, I think posting this information would definitely prove your point. Unless of course you’ve forgotten to factor in the make of boots, and type of studs, used by individual players for each match. I apologise… I’m obviously just being stupid. I mean, who the hell forgets to factor in the make of boots and and type of studs used by each player? Anyway, once you've collated and cross referenced all the information, you will then have the evidence needed to prove your point. Ok… if you could maybe do a poll as well, that would be fantastic.
  13. Well this is another game that, dare I say it, we would be expected to win. Unfortunately I don't think we will win (damn, 3 'W' words in a row. That'll mess with my mental instabilities) if I'm honest. Not sure why, but I just don't feel that confident about us winning games at the moment. Although it might have something to do with us only scoring one league goal in three games so far Going with DCL upfront simply because if things aren't going our way goal scoring wise, I can still look at the bench and think; "All is not lost, we still have Kean to come on." as opposed to "Crap, all we have is DCL and Tosun on the bench." Gone for Schneiderlin in midfield simply because I think it may be a bit too soon to give Delph a full run out. Give him the last 30 minutes, all being well(ish). Pickford Coleman Keane Mina Digne Schneiderlin Gomes Richarlison Gylfi Bernard DCL
  14. To be honest, I don't mind watching Everton Ladies play now and then. Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier in this thread, there was a bit of a player exodus a few seasons back that obviously had a negative impact on the squad and, no doubt, their morale. I kind of recall there being talk that the Club was neglecting the Ladies team financially etc. which is a shame really if true, because the Womens game is only going to grow; so it would be nice if we could invest, improve, and support the our women in much the same way we have with so many other projects and the like concerning the club and community over the years. Everton Ladies are part of the Everton Family and should not be overlooked, but instead given all the help that our Club can provide to try and bring about some level of success... or, at least, give them a fighting chance of competing in the league and cup. That should get me some brownie points when my better half read this thread
  15. Thought Alex Iwobi was full of energy, pace, and very direct and positive with his style of play against Lincoln. It's too early to judge yet of course, but if he can put in regular, consistent performances like that against Premier League opposition, I will be very happy indeed.
  16. Lucas Digne for me. Scored a terrific, and all important, first goal to get us back into the game. The longer it drags on at one nil the more frustrating it becomes for the players and fans; Lincoln dig themselves in, mistakes are then easily made, and the next thing you know... we are out of the cup. Of course it wasn't just about the goal; I thought his all round play was excellent.
  17. I was in an artistic mood after seeing us score four goals away from home
