Hopefully, DCL came through the game without any issues. I'm not placing any importance on the result as this was just another step on the road to getting DCL back playing first-team football for us. Would be good to see him getting some game time against Palace, if possible.

My understanding was it was a save, since the shot (as poor as it was) was on target and the keeper stopped it. I mean, that's only what actually happened but let's not focus on that and lambast the player instead.
Well, what actually happened was Maupay hesitated after a poor first touch and allowed the defender on his left to get in a good tackle which resulted in the ball tamely hitting the keeper in the chest.
My post wasn't lambasting the player, I was simply saying we need to convert those types of chances, and the header he missed at around the half-hour, if we expect to stay up. I would be saying the same about any other player in that position.

Dwight McNeil for me, thought he did well.

I'm hoping DCL makes an appearance against Palace and remains fit for the rest of the season. Not saying he's some sort of saviour, but he would give us something else to work with and broaden our options.

He didn’t seem fully committed on Patterson. Lack of match fitness.
I thought that too. Was thinking Dyche may go for Godfrey, Holgate, or Coady at right-back. Mind you, Godfrey got absolutely shredded for his performance against Man Utd.

Dwight McNeil for me. Did his job of getting the ball in the box.

I reckon Dyche will be thinking why did Lampard and Thelwell let Rondon go when they had no backup for DCL who was injured, now he would bite your hand off if given the chance to still have him here.
He would certainly have been another option upfront, and we don't have many of them at the moment.

I was going to say something about McNeil only having one foot, but having read the last few posts I think I'll give it a miss
Thought he played well on Saturday and looked like a player who knew exactly what his job was and what was expected of him. He stuck to his task well.

Relieved that Everton and Pickford sorted this out before it dragged on any longer. One less distraction to worry about whilst trying to stay out of the relegation zone.
