Ha ha, I clicked mobile version on the bottom of the screen, did you click troll version? vitor periera could be gotten maybe...
  2. So what you are saying the problem isn't McCarthy it's you. It's like refusing to accept Queen were a great band because you didn't like their brand of music. You know that they are talented but it just isn't to your taste. Problem is you are gonna look like a knob telling everyone that Status Quo are awesome and Queen are crap.
  3. Yeah, one of those annoying sods, just good at sport. He was understudy to Liam Brady.

Is Bobby only 41? what I want to know is has he learned to control a ball yet or is time still on his side.
  5. No the problem with Lukaku is that every fan in denial believes that we are one good game away from curing him of being a shite footballer. It then lends itself to the style of play being wrong and all sorts of crap that just doesn't make sense. Top and bottom is that you sacrifice any footballing logic in favour of supporting exciting players opposed to appreciating a quality team player.
  6. Ian bishop... Yeah I liked him as a player. Underrated. I play golf every npwvand then with Jimmy Harvey, yeah he played for Tranmere but he was class, with an engine and bite he could have been very good indeed.
  7. Heres a deal, when Lukaku gets more man of the matches than McCarthy I'll call myself a hypocrite. Till then....... just watch a game of football and appreciate the simple things that are done well by one player and missed by the other.
  8. Yeah it's not like the other team get possession of the ball every now and then - all we want is glory players. I mean why have defenders? we don't need players to cover 13km cut out defence splitting passes, break up attacks and get us on the front foot.
  9. He would have nightmares if we signed Christiano Ronaldo on a free if it meant Mirallas was benched.
  10. Did we play shite when we beat Lille 3-0 and he got a standing ovation? McGeady also getting big plaudits for that game? I think you need to get a grip. I've got a downer on Rom but I give him credit where it's due. Seriously stop being a tit, it's been highlighted before that you would sooner be correct in your opinion than you would one of your disliked players doing well. It's true, but sad.
  11. Stop being a child. Lynch pin was my term for McCarthy, ahh now I see the old MC hating to be wrong... Been quite good McCarthy hasn't he? Maybe I like players to make ballsy passes like McGeady.... Oops, another of your disliked players.
  12. Joe Allen got a mega bucks move to Liverpool based on passing a ball 5-10 yards on numerous occasions. I think Phil Neville had awesome squawka stats for such passes. I think we need mirallas to return, your love for him is more understandable.

Big Dunc gets Everton, as far as talent goes he was highly under rated. Why get rid?

I don't think many fans are going to be shouting from the roof tops about getting £6m for Vic to be honest. Not when we spent an extra £22m on Rom. Rom only cost a few million less than Diego Costa. Before anyone says that Rom will be worth £28m then please really consider why will he be worth that. As i've said before i've never seen a professional player so highly touted with such a high difference between good and bad - its like watching a conference player at times. Development wise he has far more to go than Mo Besic who seems to attract conservative comments despite costing a pittance in comparison. IF he does become the player that many hope or think then £28m will be well spent, but I don't think he is near that yet.

In trying to be balanced I thought I would go through the Roberto Pro's and Cons thus far:- Pros:- Beat United at their place for first time in how many years and took the fight to top 4 teams who Moyes bottled it against Brought the crowds and feel good factor back to goodison Finished with our highest points tally Trusts the younger players Cons:- annoying with positivity when we have played poor £28m on Lukaku Poor pre season prep this year unable to get us playing to any consistent and quick tempo Overall I think he's good...

Lukaku is not criticised because he cost £28m, he's criticised because he can't control a football. It's pathetic, I've seen far cheaper footballers have a better touch. The reality is this, lukakus touch is poor, seriously poor. Now we have to be critical of the team and tactics because they aren't suited to Romelus deficiencies? Excuse after excuse is being made, other people being criticised etc etc, the fact is Martinez has blown way too much money on a player who has much to learn. I was laughed at for suggesting welbeck would have been the smarter buy. I wish we did grab him.

Hes been critiqued in depth and it is plain to see that he has problems with his game. Yes he can look immense when he is playing against sub standard defenders. When he is marked properly he really is poor. I can accept that we have blown a large amount of money on him. I can't accept the fact that people refuse to allow themselves to be critical of him. As fans we are going to look stupid by pretending that he is the real deal. I'm pissed off at Martinez more than anything, a massive gamble.

Wasnt able to watch game. Appears it wasn't a bad thing. Listened to commentary and Sharpy was pissed off with Lukakus inability to control and hold the ball. Pointed out that Fletcher does that with minimal fuss. This is my whole point about Lukaku, he is not going to be a reliable player. It's not about being a poacher, it's about retaining the ball.
  19. No one would touch him with his injuries and salary demands - then again Newcastle.... Good player, but a risk after his cruciate.
  20. Are you having one of those days where you feel that not everyone is in love with your fav players as much as what you are? Don't worry - Gibsons qualities aren't lost on anyone - but neither is his propensity to pick up injuries - which means Martinez is likely to be using him with caution. Maybe the fact that many cruciate rebuilds break down within 12 months may be the reason behind this.... let alone the fact that cartilage injuries are common place after ACL injuries. Next thing you know he will be getting mocked like Arouna Kone for being injured. Patience.... I agree, he offers us a different quality in midfield and he will give us creativity and balance.
  21. I'm sorry but thats nonsense - he spent 11 months out with a cruciate injury - historically these injuries finish players off. He played for Ireland and picked up a knock on his knee in training for Everton. You would be slating RM if he played him and his knee broke down again. Martinez insists the midfielder still has a huge role to play at Goodison Park, and that he has been missed during the 2013-14 campaign. “Darron has been a big miss for us,” Martinez is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo. “He has not been forgotten internally. “I know when you don’t play as a player you get a little bit out of the limelight but I’m very excited about Darron’s contribution next season. He’s exactly the type of midfielder we need. Gareth Barry and James McCarthy have been fantastic, but we could have done with Darron being fit and ready.
  22. Depends what you mean by footballing brain. If you mean orchestrating play on the attack then yes he is a more impactful passer and sees pictures better going forward. Defensively McCarthy is in a league his own from a footballing brain perspective, he sees threats immediately and knows exactly where to be. Plays the ball nice a simple and sets a good tempo. Intelligence wise he's up there. Why doesn't Gibson have a chance under Martinez? Before his injury Gibson was RMs main player, had a really good pre season and was given the main role. He's had a really bad injury so not sure what you want Martinez to do?
  23. I think most improved player would be Lukaku, but was he the best player in a blue shirt? For me it was 1. McCarthy by a mile 2. McGeady 3. Naismith 4. Lukaku That's not having a go at Rom, he did have a good game but motm because it was an improvement kinda isn't the usual rationale or is it?
